Listening to '97 rebroadcast. This Rosalie Osias has an annoying voice...found a picture of her. She's alright looking(peroxide blonde) but seems like the type that would end up in a pool of blood at Phil Spector's house.

HAHAHA

jazmunda

Is it just me or can anyone else hear the crickets in this thread. Ooooohhhhhh there goes some tumbleweed. This thread sure is a Ghost town.

So I guess Art really did retire. Any update on the news we need to "stay tuned" to? :p

*ducks for cover*

yeah I don't know how we forgot about this thread. the false flag operation that Pumpkin Headed Jackass ran here put a lot of wind this thread's sails

Be careful what you wish for, people.  Lest we might get another visit from the Great Pumpkin.

I feel a scorpion 'a rustling.

Love the new photo.. I think we should play a game: insert a thought bubble above Art's head

HAhaha, I saw that and came right here knowing that you would have the picture posted already. Well played. I see that time that he took the picture was 2:42. That must mean something. I bet he's getting set to do 242 new shows. :o

morphiaflow

Or he's a big fan of Front 242 and was rocking their classic song "Welcome to Paradise", whose lyrics no doubt many Noory and Wells followers would find interesting....

Or, being that 2:42 is the perfect length for a pop song (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&ved=0CGsQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wired.com%2Flistening_post%2F2008%2F04%2Fis-242-the-perf%2F&ei=AFiXT_qUH9KM6QGwu-DODg&usg=AFQjCNG-uh18ZVK-1YPhMt7eDCECggptpg) is Art equally trying to say he went as far as he could?

Or maybe, we John Wells would do, we can look to the Bible: http://bible.cc/acts/2-42.htm  Act 2:42 speaks about devoting yourself to apostles' teaching. Maybe Art is going religious on us?

I'd be interested though in knowing if it was 2:42 in the AM or PM. Wonder if he is a still a night owl.  And while I know firsthand that Art is aware of what goes on during the modern day Coast to coast, I doubt he listens.

Lovely Bones

Glynis: 2+4+2 resolves to "8," and "8" is the money number.  Art is obviously contemplating new ways to make money with his radio equipment.  Stay tuned boys and girls!

The man is DYING to get back on the air! Isn`t it obvious? All that gear and no show to do? Are you kidding me?

He`s going to end up on-air somewhere. At least part-time.

It does appear that the fire is back in his eyes!! Bye George !!

I saw a big shit-licking grin, reminiscent of the Cheshire Cat.

Usagi

Who knew a random picture of such a ridiculously ugly man could make me so happy?

Only Art.

morphiaflow

In the past I've been perhaps unrealistically hopeful about Art returning to the airwaves, and I'd finally reconciled myself to his current status when he posted the "maybe someday but not now" message on this very thread a few months back. So I'm not going to read too much into this photo.

But I will note that he has made it his new Facebook default profile picture, replacing one of him and Asia.

I have a source in Cleveland...... or was it Reno?  :o

I don't want to get my hopes up if they're only gonna be dashed, but I'm with you on this, Usagi.

Not that Art is "ridiculously ugly."

BobGrau

lol he's such a tease.

My suggestion for a caption: 'beg, coastgabbers, beg!'

If that's all it takes, Bob . . .

I continue to be surprised that they keep pulling out the reverse speech / David John Oates episodes from the archives for Art Bell: Somewhere in Time, especially given the ugliness that developed between Oates and Art. Last night's broadcast was the third or fourth time they've dusted off one of those episodes in as many years. I don't know the full story, but from what I've heard, it was ugly stuff that lead to actual litigation.

It's ancient history, but still...the fact that the current management at Premiere/C2C keep trotting out that material is...I dunno...I'd almost say disrespectful, but that seems too strong. "Lacking class" is the phrase I've landed on.

Yeah, every time a reverse speech or EVP feature airs, I immediately think Premiere is pulling out the worst of Art in order to either make Noory look less awful or to prove that maybe Art wasn't so great after all.

Kinda like when Bob Dylan went to Asylum Records and Columbia released the "Dylan" album of outtakes and rejects as a measure of revenge. "See the genius ain't so great" That's Premiere's relationship with Art right now, minimizing his achievements to bolster their mediocre status quo.

Ha! I think the sound you hear is Noory shitting enough bricks to finish his Hawaiian 'studio'.

Art Bell, you are a tease with that mysterious smile like the cat who ate the canary or, in this case, dodo bird.

dan7800

Art, come back and do a few hour show on a topic of your choice one evening. You can do it all for charity. C2C is the same in name only since when you left. It is a different show.

Darth Bell

At this point the people waiting for Art to come back remind me of myself in 2004 thinking "maybe this will be the year Barry Sanders realizes he made a mistake and comes out of retirement." It didn't happen, and neither will Art coming back to Coast. Sometimes a guy comes around who can't be replaced, and when his run is over, that's it.

That written, I did notice something several months back on a "Somewhere In Time" show there was a caller asking if Art was going to do some convention/expo/group wank thing and he mentioned that he doesn't like to travel and do those; nor did he want to do television or anything else that would take away from the show. He just wanted to make the show the best it could be, and that other stuff detracted. I was hoping someone in charge of selecting shows picked that one to wake up "traveling Jones" George, but I suppose I was reading too much into it.

Frys Girl

Art has tweeted/posted pics of himself in his studio. Wouldn't it be funny if he were doing a top secret clearance type of podcast for only a few fans? Invitation only type stuff? Bahahahahahaha. Fort Rock would be so sad for being left out.

I rode as long as I could with Art.  However, I recently disembarked safely and breathed fresh air for the first time in years when he informed us here that he has no plans on returning to the airwaves.  This act freed me to cut any connection or ties I felt toward the present coast that were based on my feelings towards a previous host.  Before I board a speculation bus or buy a ticket for a new show, Art will have to be firmly in the captains seat.  There will need to be a an actual announcement.

Ah, but he is doing a broadcast for a select few.  He issued the invitation right here on this board for us to join him on shortwave.  I think that Art is banking on Ft.Rock not being able to afford the needed equipment or not having the drive to figure out how to use it...
