I have reason to believe that Airyn does indeed do some of the photo posting on Art's FB page. I also believe she is the one who got him to create a FB page.  I don't think he gives a damn, one way or the other.  :-\

Maybe Airyn's trolling us?  :D

I can only think of two possibilities:

1) Maybe a new show is in the works on another network.  I hope this is the case.

2) Art is not happy with the present incarnation of Coast to Coast AM and does not want to be affiliated with it in any way.

Yes, I wonder what this means? Why now? What has changed with Art???? Something good coming I hope.
Why?  Maybe is was sent one of the hacked health supplement e-mails, ordered them and was not pleased with the product.

While I'm hoping it has something to do with a new show, I won't get my hopes up. I wonder who owns the copyrights to the show? Surely Art does right? I figure hes just gotten tired of being affiliated with the heap of shit that is noory's coasttocoast. if I were Art, I'd cut all ties too.

Mixed feelings...I'm glad Art wants to sever any remaining vestige with the Hindenburg of radio, but I will miss the Saturday rebroadcasts.

I'm bummed. While it would be great if this was the beginning of a new show for Art on another network, I really don't think that's going to happen anymore. Just my opinion, but maybe he got fed up with being the lead-in to Wells's paranoid, conspiracy bible spouting schtick every Saturday night. That never was Art's style,  and neither was the parade of charlatans, quacks, extremists and wing-nuts that have been showcased under PremRat and Noory. It was probably time for him to cut ties, but that won't make me miss Art on Saturday nights any less.

I think option 2 is more likely to be the case.

So should we take bets: Will Noory sign off tonight using Art's name? I say yes.. until legally impossible to do so.

If anyone can bear to listen to that trainwreck please report back as I would be very interested to know.

I can tell you (in completely a non message-board troll kind of way) that number 2 is absolutely correct.. Absolutely correct.
As far as number 1? I hope. But that I do not know.
but number 2? yea.. I know that.

I wake up pretty early. I will set my alarm for 4:55 AM EDT and check in.

Just a thought...... I listened to the Noory 'interview' of Whitley Streiber... given the latest Art Bell message, I am going to go back and listen again. I want to listen for anything which may shed light on .. anything. Just a thought. Whitley and Art were (and I assume are) close..

Art just posted this on Facebook:

Interesting.

Unfortunately this is the only source of new old material from Art. The majority of the shows that are aired as part of the Saturday night SIT shows are shows that do not exist on any of the file sharing sites and are effectively new classic material from Art.

I wonder why Art has decided to request that they cease Broadcasting. Does he not get a cut? If not then I can understand why. There is also a remote chance that it has something to do with a new show (probably not) and he can't have his classic shows running on a rival network.
Agreed, this is crappy news.  While I don't listen to Noory (I don't have any deep wellspring of animus towards him, I just don't enjoy him as a host), I do listen to all the other hosts, and the SIT shows, and just really love C2C.  Having the SIT shows go away will leave me with only 5 or 6 shows a month to listen to.  Hopefully he doesn't come after the FineArt stream next.

I actually am wondering what he will think of FineArtStream and U7..

FYI: Noory chat tonight. I hope an 'insider' brings this up

I'm sure Premiere pays him quite a bit to air his shows. If hes asking them to stop, why wouldnt he ask those who air his show without paying him to stop? I suppose I should start hoarding old Art Bell shows like Nooryholics hoard their efood just in case.

I don't think he would have a problem with the streams. I guess it all depends on whethers his objections to SIT is monetary or just because he wants to disassociate himself with the show due to quality or as result of having a new show on another network.

Those "chats" are heavily screened and a question regarding Art is likely not to be aired or the answer watered down and likely to be very PC.

the chats are screened. Which is why I think they will put forth an Art Bell related question. A fire back of sorts...

Red Eye has replays on friday and saturday nights. Replays of Red Eye, not Art. And Ross Mitchell is already there. Just sayin'. And its carried on 820 WBAP out of Ft Worth which I can hear here in South Louisiana. Maybe he will do something on fridays/saturdays nights? Hope springs eternal. Yeah I know, probaly full of shit but I will keep paying attention, just like all of you.

Put me down for a vote that Art wants nothing to do with current Coast.

That does not exclude the possibility of a future project. Time will tell.

Art now saying he wants separation from Premrad seems way too long in coming.

I would have thought he would have wanted that several years ago.

So I am hoping this means he is looking to re-enter the radio biz. But I really doubt it.

It has been two years or do since he left Coast , right? Maybe his contractual obligations not to talk are soon ending..  All speculation but Art seems to induce that

Fly By Night

This is a longshot, but Art's birthday was the 17th. Perhaps he did have a contract that required him to stay quiet and it ended on his birthday.

Or another thought-I have not listened to C2C in awhile. Did someone say something bad about Art recently on air and he caught wind of it?

At any rate-with the world as it is today, I'd say it's a safe bet that Art is at least toying with the idea to hit the waves again

Meanwhile, at Premrat hq, you can hear a pig squeal. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

b_dubb

I predict Art will start his own stream with revenue from ads and/or subscription. All free Art Bell streams will be silenced by Art's lawyer(s)

MV/Liberace!

premiere owns coast to coast, as far as i know.  does art even have the legal power to demand they stop airing his shows?

While it could be a negotiating tactic having to do with squeezing more licensing $ out of Premiere, I fear it's evidence that Art is really trying to distance himself from today's C2C. If Art got what he says he wants - an end to any old shows hosted by him being rebroadcast in the Saturday Somewhere In Time spots -  wouldn't that be the last official broadcast of Art on C2C? I presume Coast Insiders (or whatever the hell they're calling folks who stupidly pay the yearly premium - like me) could still get some past shows and excerpts played on mp3, but that would be it.

And thus George's coup would be complete: he would have finally killed any mention of Art Bell on the program.

Here is the exact quote....

I have made a request that Premiere Radio cease Broadcasting the Saturday "Somewhere in Time" shows.

Interesting turn of events.
Maybe Ian Punnett will eventually return with his old early Saturday night show in that time slot like he had before they put on the Somewhere in Time replays, when Art took over the weekend hosting regularly some years back?
