If there was any question of your grip on reality I think the above quote clears that up nicely.  You saved HAL all kinds of work with it.  You might as well have said you were attracted to the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus.

Well lets see, maybe he watches a lot of TV - there's Abby Sciuto, Lily Munster, Morticia Addams...

YES

HAL 9000

The Fort Rock Interview

Yes folks, though FR has not done MV's Trainwreck (yet), I do have Fort Rock doing a podcast about Wicca. I'm currently editing out the other guests from this show, so I should have it posted as an mp3 attachment in about 45 minutes or less (I'm distracted by the hockey game). I haven't listened to the interview yet myself, so we'll all be enjoying it together.

"Blutsauger" apparently means "vampire" in German ("blood sucker").  So I bet he has a crush on that guy from Twilight.

you, my friend, are a force to be reckoned with.  like a typhoon or some shit.

First, I'll apologize for the audio quality - the guy who did the podcast has some bad equipment, so the audio is overdriven, resulting in some fuzziness and a few pops here and there.

Fort Rock's voice seems like an amalgam of a couple of people I recognize - but I can only think of one: Richard C. Hoagland. Yes, you read right - I think he somewhat resembles RCH when he speaks. Here then, is Douglas Harry Stingley's short interview about Wiccan covens (it didn't surprise me that he was promoting a single's group)

Well, blessed be!  Now wasn't that just precious!

morphiaflow

Singles groups? Yeah. Wicca (and neo-paganism in general) started becoming a place for guys to get laid in the 90s, I think, by offering their devotion to the Goddess and blah blah blah. I'll listen to the interview, but I'm a bit scared. Wish there was an underemployed goth chick here to hold my hand. Even a Wiccan one.

morphiaflow

Ugh....

I hear the Hoagland similarity that was mentioned.
I feel dirty just listening to it.
I'll take the host over Wells or Noory, though!

MV/Liberace!

i never brag about myself, but holy shit... when i listen to some podcasts, i come to realize just how awesome the trainwreck show actually is in comparison.  WOW.  why these people SEEK to sound like NPR is beyond me.

MV/Liberace!

lol... douglas thinks the letters "LA" need to be capitalized in his email address.  nice.

No chance MV, promoting Wiccan community on Radio Druid is one thing but being on Trainwreck could completely sink his career...

p.s.  a simple google search for "douglas stingley" now brings this thread up on PAGE ONE.  way to go, asshole.  that should help on your next job search.
And now I have to clean the half chewed pretzel bits from my keyboard.  Thanks.

Really... page 1?  There is something to be proud of (especially when I consider that my name does not even come up.)

OMFG THIS PODCAST...  :'( :'( :'(

coven picknick network...

He does sound like Hoagland, only in a more lulling sort of way.

Frys Girl

Holy crap! Hal9000 is amazing. Fort Rock, really? This is the podcast you'd do, but you wouldn't do MV's show?

To think that this guy says he has secret info about Art Bell makes me think Art Bell needs to consider getting a restraining order in advance of any creepy acts. FR exhibited textbook stalker behavior especially in mentioning Art's family. Creepy.

Pretty bad. Sounds like he's reading from a script and doesn't read naturally.

Fort Rock sounds like this guy.

Harmness

Next time I feel like a complete jackass fuck-up, I'm going to come back to this page and look at these pictures and listen to that horseshit and point and laugh again and again.

Eddie Coyle

"JD" is some host. How hasn't he joined the C2C Carnival of Lost Souls yet?.

Doug sounds as loony as expected. He has the type of voice that's perfect for a quiet room.

Precisely why I left in as much of the intro as I did - to show what a hack this host was... it droned on and on for a bit longer - requesting sponsors, etc. Absolutely druiddreadful.

McPhallus

I'm surprised no one has commented on the intro music yet.  Whoever's singing sounds like a chipmunk on meth.
