I guess I keep bringing this up, but if he really did not WANT to take this desperate measure, and if there really WAS a stalker, he would have done what the rest of us would - hire a detective agency. 

That he did not do this and the information that the police seem to marginalize his calls/complaints does make a person wonder.

I wasn't there, I don't know what did or didn't happen.  But if Art was making this up, wouldn't he have gone all out with his reporting to the cops? I mean, to make it really sound serious? It's sad enough how his daughter reacted to the police cars, but I'm sure Art has a creative imagination. He could have gone all out. Is this really how he would choose to ditch the radio?  Make some totally bogus story that's lame at best? (The part about his daughter being afraid for her life isn't lame, and if he was shot at, that wasn't lame.. but you know what I mean).

If these incidents happened and REALLY were of concern to him, why did he not hire detectives?

That he did not do that, which would have been the next step for a sane person, the mind wonders if these incidents are fabrications, or at least blown way out of proportion. 

I don't know the legal ramifications of his just quitting.  Certainly no one would blame him if he thought his life (and that of his family) was on the line, but there were dependent relationships.  Those radio stations - maybe they paid nothing, but they do suffer losses from his leaving.  Maybe if his leaving was a mere matter of his temperament they would be on more solid ground if they contemplated a suit. 

I don't know - all this is speculation.

Because after he made the decision to go off the air 'for good' there would have been no reason to withhold that info.  Remember that 'the stalker' told him on that phone call (was there one?) to get off the air.  That's what he wanted.

If you were in Art's shoes, would you not have filed a report of that call and begged the cops to investigate?  Instead, Art just told them that he did not want to file a report, just to document the incident. 

No wonder the police are not pursuing the case. 

Why would the neighbor witness refuse to give a testimony to the police? 

Heck, if I were Art I would have had cameras out on the property way before the 'stalker' came.  People do that all the time - people who have mucho fewer assets to lose than he.

Oh my goodness.  Yeah, when the tv is too loud I'll turn it down.  It's not as though he can't hear it.  You don't know the configuration of the room nor where we are sitting.  You also don't know that this is an arrangement we have.  I should not disturb him because he is doing work on his computer. 

Try not to cast aspersions on my character, nor on my relationships.  It's unbecoming.

I am just saying that there are logical steps that most people, especially those with a few bucks, will take to protect themselves.  That's not a control issue.  It's called an observation.

Yeah, or a teacher.  I agree with you.  I sit in the living room, dabbling with things on my computer while my husband has some tv news or political show on.  Almost every time a female voice comes on I find it irritating and turn the tv volume down.
