I am sorry to have to announce this but I will not be on Tonight or any other night, yes I am going to hang it up. Whoever this crazy person is, they are not stopping and it has come to the point that we as a Family do not feel it is worth the risk. While I think the person or persons are after me, my Wife and now my Daughter are really scared, the other night after the latest incident my Daughter was off in the corner of her bed scared to death as the Police cars came screaming up. I will not put my Family through this. As you all know I dearly love what I do but not at the expense of never ending Terrorism. I want to thank those of you who have shown so much support and it has been my joy, short as it has been to have cracked that Mic open for a last time. This was a Family decision. The girls stuck with me and still would but if one of them were harmed because of what I love doing my life would be over.

I tried to remove my post since it was redundant and this one is better titled, so commenting here.  I completely understand wanting to put your family's safety at first.  I have a wife and daughter.  I get it.  That said, and this has nothing to do with for sure wanting him to do more shows - I'm not sure that this is going to stop this person, right?  Show or no show, this person seems to have real issues, so I am still kind of worried for Art and his family.  While I am really sad to see him hang it up, I would, above all, like to see that the person that has been doing this would be stopped...

 I am honestly flabbergasted. I had no idea it was that bad or that scary.  Maybe whoever is doing this will be caught and he will come back but I wouldn't hold my breath that would happen anytime soon. I feel like if they had any leads whoever this is would have been pinched by now.  I mean who in the hell would want to threaten art? What in the world could he have done to make this person that crazy? I guess that's a dumb question because crazy fucking people are just that… Crazy. It's just a real shame and I'm going to miss this show. I  personally I look forward to it every night and that is a rare thing these days with all of the crap in the media. I just really enjoyed listening to this show every night. I was going through withdrawals on the weekends lol.sounds ridiculous but it's pretty much true.

I call bullshit on this entire escapade. First of all....anyone with his collection of equipment, guns etc, would most certainly have CAMERA'S around his PROPERTY. So once again, the great Art Bell self sabotages a show. No one is shocked. And also? What makes him think if someone is targeting him they are going to stop just because he ends the show? Call the damn FBI, Art.
I just think it's all a ruse to get him out of this show with abysmal ratings.

I'm not sure where this is coming from. Do you have reason to suspect that art is lying?I mean, he has the police involved. Plus the first time it happened as neighbors actually told him about it. I don't see how this could be made up.

If Art REALLY wanted to do this show, he'd find a way.  He's not coming back.  He doesn't want to do it anymore.  Read between the lines

I wonder at the implications of this decision from a business perspective.  I just can't imagine full-stop dismantling this entire enterprise.  There are stations carrying the show, and I don't know if there will be damages owed to the ones that were counting on it for programming.  Then there is the entire subscription component for Time Travelers.  Will this affect The Other Side of Midnight?  I don't see why, but I don't know how much things were subsidized by the revenue generated from MITD.  Are the wheels completely coming off, or is there going to be a more gradual collapse?  We will see.
