The wonder is that the service was instituted for Art's show MITD - so is MITD going to continue with Heather?
I hope it does, and I wish her all the best. I will listen.

GravitySucks

Think of it this way, it gives Art more time to hang out here at BellGab!

All dark matter has now is hoagie and a bunch of shitty shows.  Gonna be tumbleweeds blowing through there soon.  Poor Keith.

To be fair, we knew what we were getting ourselves into. We knew his record. As I said earlier, I wanted to believe this was actually going to last.

Anyway, I wish the best to these other shows on Dark Matter.

I wouldn't hang out here if I was him based on the things he's been accused of here.

Stranger929

So, three more ours of Hoagie?

Still better than dave.

ComeBackArt

This SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS! >:(

Looking forward to hearing redacted.

:::shrug::: I'm keeping mine for a while yet. I don't think anybody knows if MITD is going to continue as a show. It looks like it probably will, at least for a while.

Not that I believe he is making all of this up, because I certainly don't, but he is prone to exaggeration and believing himself far more important than he really is. I can understand why someone would believe this is simply a fabrication in order to slip out the back door on us again, (cue the many many times he has quit, the fake pilot over Area 51, his not accepting packages after 9/11). It's more likely that Art is believing what he wants to, that someone is out to get him and therefore its over, his family comes first.

I think Art should really come back maybe in a few months or whenever this insane stalker is caught.

Just because this fuck is caught, doesn't erase the trauma that has affected his family.  That runs deep and you can't just get back to normal.

I'm so sad, and so furious that this hasn't been stopped at least.

My, isn't your glass half full, GS -- I like it!!

I'd love Heather to do well and kick ass (a la Mrs. Peel!) so I'll be here 'til I have to hit the sack.

I've downloaded all of the shows, so I guess I got my money's worth while it lasted. At least it ran longer than the Sirius XM show did.

And you've got a brand new in color Pluto show to look forward to!

Did you listen to the show when she interviewed Art before he started back up?  I thought she did a great job. Plus, think of all the cool (Redacted) stuff Keith could start selling as promotional items.

I'm shocked that Art bowed to anyone scaring him and his family. That's not the Art I remember back in the 90's...he would never have allowed anything to stop him. MV is right, he has changed.🙁

My 6 pennies about the best listener and intelligent questioner in talk show radio:

1.  I was both instantly worried and shocked Day One with something that seemed very auspicious.  Practically the first words I heard were "Alan Greenspan' as Art's first advertiser - implying being 'supported' by one of America's worst NWO crooks and morons who's extreme corruption and Federal Reserve manipulation for years did untold damage to everyone not rich in America - the least representative advertiser for a show supposedly dedicated to openmindedness and truth.

2.  Art's audience didn't stop listening to a vast array of cutting edge people the last 10 years and got a LOT more educated and sophisticated... and Art sounded like he picked up where he left off.  Maybe half his guests so far were intriguing and at or near the current cutting edge, and the other half were boring as hell and snoory caliber stupid ghost, esp, ufo or mainstream propagandist story purveyors. After lots of initial enthusiasm I stopped even remembering to see who was going to be on or that it was 9pm.  There are hordes of more interesting guests and intriguing topics, but at least Sean David Morten didn't come back and many other lowlifes.

3.  I think it was a big mistake to have such tightly locked doors out of the box and not make replays available for free for some amount of time until awareness/interest/momentum spread around the world thru youtube.

4.  I have nothing against good female announcers, but the extremely grating nail on chalkboard amateur female announcer voices over and over and over could not have helped night after night.  I found myself running to quick kill the sound when the news, commercial tags or full commercials with any of the them came on.  There's a huge difference between unusual radio voices chosen for memorable character... and drawl-y, torturous monotone that could make roaches commit suicide.

5.  Back to the NWO. Again picking up where he left off 10 years later....Art made various asides indicating that he still steadfastly bought the govt. 9-11 story, was still pretending to buy face value mainstream stories and/or just avoided guests who dealt with these current issues that contained so many of the 'alternative' tentacles of black ops now common to alternative radio.  Again, it's all stuff his audience is now much more educated about and it makes him look either like a player to be so intelligent and therefore pretending to be in denial or oddly suddenly stupid.

6.  All adding up to... I suspect the show/network was a lot of work, was losing money and the prospect of going to profitability too bleak looking.  I think he's concocted this threat and excuse for quitting to save face.  If so, too bad it's likely going to hurt him even more to have added unnecessary disgrace.   I agree with all the people here who have pointed out many other valid observations and ignored solutions if the 'threat' was really the issue that I think were well said.

Thank you in advance for the usual adolescent and/or intelligent Bellgab slamming of me to come but I respect and appreciate the true free speech here more.

Best to all of you on the precipice of what seems to be such a quickly changing new world and on finding other nice rides.

George Noory

There are many thousands of people who hate Noory's guts and no one bothers him. Most people love Art and he's the one who gets terrorized? For fuck's sake.

Hi, Pats -- not sure if this has been answered in the intervening pages, but Heather is going to host a show tonight!  Bring it on, Heather!!

I call bullshit on this entire escapade. First of all....anyone with his collection of equipment, guns etc, would most certainly have CAMERA'S around his PROPERTY. So once again, the great Art Bell self sabotages a show. No one is shocked. And also? What makes him think if someone is targeting him they are going to stop just because he ends the show? Call the damn FBI, Art.
I just think it's all a ruse to get him out of this show with abysmal ratings.

Quote from: Auslandia on December 11, 2015, 04:36:47 PMI am sorry to have to announce this but I will not be on Tonight or any other night, yes I am going to hang it up. Whoever this crazy person is, they are not stopping and it has come to the point that we as a Family do not feel it is worth the risk. While I think the person or persons are after me, my Wife and now my Daughter are really scared, the other night after the latest incident my Daughter was off in the corner of her bed scared to death as the Police cars came screaming up. I will not put my Family through this. As you all know I dearly love what I do but not at the expense of never ending Terrorism. I want to thank those of you who have shown so much support and it has been my joy, short as it has been to have cracked that Mic open for a last time. This was a Family decision. The girls stuck with me and still would but if one of them were harmed because of what I love doing my life would be over.

Art
Thanks for what you've given us, & best wishes.  I wouldn't ask you to make such a sacrifice as continuing to work under these conditions.

Well, I suppose that will sink the entire investment that he and Keith made.   Honestly, the big loser in this is Keith.  I just think this WHOLE thing, as with EVERYTHING involving Art, is more ludicrous melodrama.

As I said earlier this is Art's MO. He uses these things (to retire) by blowing them out of proportion and making sure that the situation is such that it is difficult to not disagree with his decision. i.e. health (back) or family.

EX-ACTLY!  There is SO much at stake here, you'd think he'd find a way.  Advertisers, Heather, Keith, etc.... This is all bullshit.  He's done with the show...

I'm sure there is a more interesting back story to all this.  There is WAY more to this than a shooter - if there is one at all.   As in, if there is a shooter - and there may be - THAT is not the reason why he's quitting.

For what it's worth, I don't think that the claims about the shooter are bogus.  He owns the network, owns the show, and isn't in anyone's pocket.  If he wanted to or needed to take some time off just to rest or be with his family, he absolutely could.  He's his own boss.  Completely calling it quits is the worst case scenario for a shitty situation.  There are tons of other options before that.  As I said in a previous post, the business implications alone are likely a nightmare.  He wouldn't do this unless for some reason he had to.

If they're not Bogus, let's see the Police Reports
