How can you tell what type of gun is being fired at you? Do they make different types of sounds? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but the only real guns I have ever seen in real life are in cop's holsters. It never occurred to me that you could tell what's being shot at you, could you?

Yeah, 45ACP, 40 and 9MM make a 'bang' sound. .22 makes a shrill bang sound. 50BMG you not only hear it but your you feel the ground shudder and your pants flutter. (Especially bell bottoms)

I think some people will find it hard to have a daily show, which I imagine is hard to do well. So I suggest rolling-hosts for this prime-time DMRN slot: Knapp, "Bateman", [Redacted], Howard Hughes, JBW, Streiber, LMH, Peter Davenport, (Sandman) Logan-5 for his astronomy forecasts, etc? Mix up hosts in addition to guests. Each host has their spin and preferred subjects? Why not?

That's not true.  News stories only happen when people want to talk about it.  Usually people reach out to the news stations themselves (a witness, victim etc.)

There's no news stories told when no one wants to talk about it with the news reporters.  Simple as that.

Art has been talking about it, a lot, both on the air and online.  If this is really happening, people in Pahrump should be freaking out.  And if they're freaking out, it's bound to get some coverage in the media there.  Maybe that will start soon--who knows?  But until then, I don't think it's unreasonable to be skeptical of it all.

Sorry but I  can pop off 5 rounds from a pump SG in the time it can take to empty a six shot revolver.
Any well maintained seni auto anything will fire as fast as you can squeeze the trigger. Many pistols have mechanism that if you know how, LE/MIL can squeeze that trigger in half the time without having to go the full distance. There are a million variables. Wind, humidity, direction of fire and on and on. But all they need are the shells or the rounds. Was anything found at the scene.

Anyone have info from anything other than what Art told us?  I never heard about this .22 shots etc?

I'm not claiming any prowess but sure some with skills, modified/good-condition weapon etc can get rates better. But I'm guess a stalker freak is not a trained pro or an aficionado or even has weapons in good condition and tuned. I've seen those Western shooter pros get off rounds quicker than some modern semi-autos with their revolvers and even some with rifles etc. I'm saying that, at least in my experience, the shotgun sounds different than a rifle or pistol (or revolver) and, usually, slower cyclic rate than those others. And, baring some of the Saigas etc, won't be able to do many rounds without reloading.

It doesn't matter if it was a 22 or 50bmg.  And if you were sitting in your house and not expecting it, you wouldn't be able to tell. (nor would it matter if it's pointed at you and your family).
