At least the Pats won't lose this weekend.

Nor will they cheat!
hehe, I couldn't help myself. ;)

It's all good.  They will probably lose in next weekend anyway.  Too many injuries and no offensive line.  I still have last years Super Bowl thanks to that awful play call.   That made up for the first Super Bowl loss to the Giants.  That was an amazing (lucky) catch.

The pool was for the regular season only Starr.

This was fun, thanks for setting it up.

I used to only pay attention to the 49ers, and the Raiders to a lesser extent, although I was aware of the goings on of other teams to a certain extent, and at least read the out of town scores every week.  (I used to be a much bigger sports fan).  I knew the talent level among teams was close, but the difficulty of picking winners for every game showed me how close the teams really were.

Too bad the game doesn't extend into playoffs, maybe giving more than one point for picking those winners.

So, when do we start the NFL PodCast Playoff Picks?  We can set up a chart right here in the thread.  Yeah!  We can do that!  Right Eddie?  Eddie?   Right?

Any pickem style game for the playoffs on espn is locked because the 1st game is already underway.
If ppl want to post their playoff predictions, or champion a bracket style game here, please do.
I already have my teams picked out and we will go over them on the show tonight.  I will post all my picks here later tonight.

for the AFC games today, I picked:
The Texans over the Chiefs
Bengals over the Steelers

Glad you enjoyed the pool, I did as well. Curtis set it up and deserves most of the credit. I'm already looking forward to next season's pickem pool.

Shame on me for not thanking you and Curtis, first, for the most football fun I've ever had.  Ever! ;D

No. Thank You  for playing. Football really does make your dreams come true! ;D

GravitySucks

This is why I don't do football. Watching the Texans lose like this is painful.

eddie dean

Wow, the Texans look like they are playing with clown shoes on.
something has gone horribly wrong when the home crowd is boo'ing their team

lol, they're making announcements in the stadium asking the crowd to stop being assholes.

Throwing things on the field, including throwing things at Big Ben when he was being carted off.

Rix Gins

I liked how Ben tipped his cap to the crowd when he jogged off the field.  Don't know if he was being nice or if it was a f-you gesture.  Probably being nice.

And the moronic thugs on the Bungles lose.

And this is why teams with a losing history continue to lose for decades given the chance - even with good players.  There's a reason Cincinnati has lost 8 straight playoff games, even with complete roster turnovers.  The culture is passed one from one generation of players to the next, as long as it's accepted by management.  They go out and get players like Pacman Jones.  Our local example is the Raiders the last couple decades under Al Davis - no discipline whatsoever, no matter what the coach said or did about the stupid penalties, the players knew they could run to Al and he'd support them.

Marvin Lewis should be fired, those morons should not have been on the field when it was clear they were out of control, no matter how 'good' they are.

Burfect and Pacman should be cut.  It doesn't matter how good they are if this is how they are going to play in crucial situations and games.

Those fans, the way they acted, don't deserve a winner.  Creating an atmosphere that provided license for the team's less intelligent players to act out.

Imagine being trapped on a team with assholes like that.  All that work from the beginning of camp until now, wasted.

Just heard on the news that the game was going so well for Cincy that they let the Cleveland Browns play the last 90 seconds of the game for them.  How did it turn out?

Marvin Lewis should be fired, those hotheads should not have been on the field when it was clear they were out of control no matter how 'good' they are.

I saw several shots of Lewis during the game, and he always had this expression on his face like he was trying to do long division, 12 years after leaving school.

Tomlin, for his part, looked during his closeups as if, had an insect flown past his face, his tongue would have snaked out of his mouth and snagged it.  "Toad Tomlin" I heard the announcer say once, I'm sure of it.

Thank You for another wonderful and fun podcast Eddie and Muddy, and Thank You for the boobie prize!  I'm still doing the happy dance!!!   ;D :-*

Burfect and Pacman should be cut.

Based on what the news is reporting, Burfect should be expelled from the NFL.  He arguably injured two key Steelers players deliberately, and was completely out of control despite the efforts of his coaches to calm him down.

He's a fuckin thug and should be kicked to the curb, then out the door.  Fuck him.

AvDaBr

Long time Bengals fan here.  Some of you are really making football out to be more complicated than it is.  The Bengals win that game if Jeremy Hill doesn't fumble with 1:36 remaining.
