As he admits above, he insults people at random, just because.

How can such an intellectual giant MISS the sarcasm in my statement?

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen this with my own eyes...

Still praying for strength and comfort for the Foley family.  That's still appropriate for this thread isn't it?  I don't want to get in the way of all you Schwantz's pissing on each other.

Indeed.  Certainly not without a raincoat and boots.

It is time to let men with balls start curing this disease.

How about men who can locate him instead?  That's the difficult part.

And this puts us squarely inside the civil war in Syria, and means another perpetual US military presence for decades to come.  We can afford that...right?

I have an idea: let's use nukes.

I think first, we send all the MIC boards, management, and lobbyists as the initial offensive move. Then followed by investors in foreign oil, all professional military support, and finally all the elected officials that supported military intervention. Once they are all on the battle field, then nukes.

Meanwhile, while your neighbors and friends are being beheaded, you can wait for pigs to fly too...

You can wish for whirled peas all you want, and you can even pretend it stands a chance in hell of actually happening, and you can pretend that rich DEMOCRATS or Republicans will send their cronies to die, much less their own children, but any rational study of history will tell you, you are wrong, and wishing ain't going to change a thing.

It's like standing at the base of a mountain that you have to climb to survive, but you know you don't have what it takes to overcome the mountain, so you shrug and say "if only the mountain was smaller or Mother Nature didn't put it here, and if everyone would just get a shovel and help move the mountain, life would be wonderful"...

It aint, and it never will be. Let the strong do what they have to do, and be quiet, and don't stab them in the front when they come home.

China took advantage of this incident to execute 8 Uiger Muslims in the far west province of Xinjiang.

Xinjiang is the eastern region of Central Asia, and historically not part of China.  They are much closer ethnically and culturally to the various 'stans' that used to be part of the Soviet Union.  Beijing is doing the same thing there that they are doing in Tibet - overwhelming the locals with Han Chinese newcomers.

They executed 3 'masterminds' of the earlier attack in Tian-a-men Square, and others who had been charged with killing officials, attacking police, building bombs.

I spent time in Xinjiang province in 1986, when there weren't very many Chinese there yet, and things seemed tense then.  Those were small dusty villages in the Gobi desert, including the provincial capital - today they are metropolises in comparison, featuring high rises and super highways.  Amazing.

Even though they are now a minority in their own homeland, the Uigers are not going to be as easily handled as the Tibetans

Sorry, Karl, but I'm going to have to give you a 15 yard penalty for utter stupidity.

I think just about anyone acquainted with the topic realizes that ISIS has to be stopped, and that has always meant going back in.  None of us relish the thought of another generation of our best and brightest going there and not returning; hundreds of billions, or perhaps into the trillions of national treasure expended; and most like decades spent in a Post-WWII-Germany type of occupation to breed out enough of the troublemakers to make sure ISIS or some version of it won't easily return.

None of us, that is, except for keyboard commandos like you.  You're popping a chubby at the thought of another war, even though it means the losses I described above, because it gives you a grand opportunity to sit at your computer and blow hard and long about all the things you hate in life -- which is just about everything.  It's a little sick that someone would trade the lives of thousands of young men and women just for that, but never mind.  The point is not that we're the weak-kneed sissies that you'd like to believe, but that we have a natural and normal aversion to what we will lose in another war and the occupation to follow.  All of us who are not you are thoughtful and rational human beings, and we understand the enormity of the task our country is about take, and so we don't leap into it with your phony bullshit bravado.  You ain't going over there, you're just going to be sitting behind your keyboard and tapping out your bile.  So please, kindly STFU and stop associating yourself with the people who are REALLY, soon enough, going to be sacrificing for the good of this nation.  It's indecent.

In the aftermath of the Spanish-American War, the US received Spanish colonies including the Philippines (as well as Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, etc).  When the Muslim rebels in the southern islands started to attack US troops it was hit and run and terrorist attacks.

Finally, in order to stop it, the US forces poured pig blood down the throats of captured rebels, killed them, and buried their bodies in pig hides.  They didn't have to do it very many times, the terrorism ceased almost immediately.

Long live General John J. "Black Jack" Pershing - the author of such genius tactic!

He and George S. Patton are who we need right now, and everyone should just shut the fuck up and let them do their thing, and go back to complaining about how terrible America is once we are safe again...

Quick Karl

Here is the story as I understand it...

Once in U.S. history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.

Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The U.S. soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.

All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.

Pointing a gun into the face of Islamic terrorists won't make them flinch.

They welcome the chance to die for Allah. Like Gen. Pershing, we must show them that they won't get to Muslim heaven (which they believe has an endless supply of virgins) but instead will die with the hated pigs of the devil.

I'm not sure those tactics will win a war such as this. The demolishing of terrorist houses and punishing the families of terrorists in Israel/Palestine didn't solve the problem of martyrs lining up to murder innocents on buses.

The larger point is, they are fighting a religious war, and we aren't.

Religion has been the defining factor in defeating nations since the beginning or recorded history.

We have to kill their religion - sending them to hell with pig guts on them is a good start.

Or we could do like digital asshole, and bend over for them believing if we let them fuck us, they will like us.

He can do that on his own.

We are held to a higher standard than the enemy and even though we would never fight as you suggested I'm not sure we can defeat that type of ideology short of nuking the entire area which obviously is not going to happen.

Of course not. ISIS needs to be eradicated. If I knew the solution to this mess I'd join Arafat and Obama as a Peace Prize recipient.

The lack of evidence is not exactly definitive, but if the claim is Pershing simply would not have done this, ok.  People usually stay in character.

That this may be a myth, originated from an early movie is a little like some of what's attributed to Sarah Palin being actually said by Tina Fey on SNL
