China took advantage of this incident to execute 8 Uiger Muslims in the far west province of Xinjiang. 

Xinjiang is the eastern region of Central Asia, and historically not part of China.  They are much closer ethnically and culturally to the various 'stans' that used to be part of the Soviet Union.  Beijing is doing the same thing there that they are doing in Tibet - overwhelming the locals with Han Chinese newcomers.


They executed 3 'masterminds' of the earlier attack in Tian-a-men Square, and others who had been charged with killing officials, attacking police, building bombs.

I spent time in Xinjiang province in 1986, when there weren't very many Chinese there yet, and things seemed tense then.  Those were small dusty villages in the Gobi desert, including the provincial capital - today they are metropolises in comparison, featuring high rises and super highways.  Amazing. 

Even though they are now a minority in their own homeland, the Uigers are not going to be as easily handled as the Tibetans

I think just about anyone acquainted with the topic realizes that ISIS has to be stopped, and that has always meant going back in.  None of us relish the thought of another generation of our best and brightest going there and not returning; hundreds of billions, or perhaps into the trillions of national treasure expended; and most like decades spent in a Post-WWII-Germany type of occupation to breed out enough of the troublemakers to make sure ISIS or some version of it won't easily return.

None of us, that is, except for keyboard commandos like you.  You're popping a chubby at the thought of another war, even though it means the losses I described above, because it gives you a grand opportunity to sit at your computer and blow hard and long about all the things you hate in life -- which is just about everything.  It's a little sick that someone would trade the lives of thousands of young men and women just for that, but never mind.  The point is not that we're the weak-kneed sissies that you'd like to believe, but that we have a natural and normal aversion to what we will lose in another war and the occupation to follow.  All of us who are not you are thoughtful and rational human beings, and we understand the enormity of the task our country is about take, and so we don't leap into it with your phony bullshit bravado.  You ain't going over there, you're just going to be sitting behind your keyboard and tapping out your bile.  So please, kindly STFU and stop associating yourself with the people who are REALLY, soon enough, going to be sacrificing for the good of this nation.  It's indecent.

Here is the story as I understand it...

Once in U.S. history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.

Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The U.S. soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.

All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.

Pointing a gun into the face of Islamic terrorists won't make them flinch.

The lack of evidence is not exactly definitive, but if the claim is Pershing simply would not have done this, ok.  People usually stay in character.
