This makes since to me. If you listened to the program last night, the choices for bumper music were not what we are normally accustomed to. Another user suggested that Airyn was selecting some of the music.

You just never know... Last night was the first time I've ever heard him use this "Jason Mraz" stuff but it'd gladly be the last if it were up to me.

My first guess is that he's going to add Fridays to his schedule.

Second guess is that Art Bell getting a 24/7 channel, but the one doubt in my mind is that this is a little soon for that to be happening. I'd think they would want to see the numbers over the next few months...

The only thing about Jason Mraz that I hate more than his music is that I have no idea how to pronounce his fucked up last name.  Is that a real name?  Is it supposed to be cool?  I don't get it.

I don't get that shit either. I'm just going to refer to him as "Mac Brazel" from now on because that name makes me much happier.

Could the announcement have anything to do with KNYE? ...

I think Mraz is pronounced "Ho-Mo".

Right.  Which dude would you rather drink a few beers with...
Mac Brazel?

or Jason Mraz?

I agree. There is simply not enough material yet to fill 24hr Art Bell channel. Premire will not give up the Bell Saturday replay any time soon IMO. Unless Ayrin will be doing a weekend gardening show, the Dark Matter channel is likely years away.

Pizza Punch.

I took the we are all in thing as

We are all in (dark matter) against Coast to Coast.

Maybe he is switching time slots to compete with coast directly or maybe its picking up a friday show or a weekend host.

It would be great if he acquired the rights to broadcast his old shows and had his own channel to do so

Spooky Matter

I am very excited about tonight.  And a bonus announcement?  Woohoo.  Maybe they are pregnant hehe.  I do hope all in means 7 days a week.  Even 2 hour shows would be something to look forward to.

Aww , i love mraz ..he's such a cheerful soul

Did anyone send in a ghost story for tonight? It's like a long, long drought on Halloween has finally ended.

The second one, definitely. ( I guess it's a girl thing.)

Pronounce it Jason Me-razz  :)

Yes, Cynnie, he is a cheerful soul.  That describes him very well.

I did. But it is a true story so it is kind of lame. I just heard a ghost voice EVP at work once. It is not a dramatic story because it is true. I probably should have made up a wild, fake story like everyone else does so I might get a call.

Of course IF I were to be contacted, I would have a heart attack. I made a total ass of myself on one of MV's podcasts so it would be best if the call does not come. It wont. Story was lame. I am still embarressed I called the MV pod cast and sounded dopey.

I have just read a couple of posts, but I sense that Ayrin is the missing piece of the puzzle here.  I think she will have some behind the dark input.  We forget she is a very intelligent women, I recall, she was a teacher or had a teaching degree in the Phillipines.

That direction may take the ride in a little swerve off of the tried and true road here and there, but it's still all Art what matters in the dark.

Another angle, is syndication.  Maybe he is going to offer the show to terrestrial radio based on the numbers and how the show is being received.

I think it's both of these BUT I really hope it's not switching time slots solely because I love the east coast start time. Though it's possible he wants more time to spend with Asia and his wife before the show starts.

Art made his announcement at the end of the Spooky Matter Halloween show last night.
He is working with Sirius to try to allow him to stream his show live for FREE from artbell.com since Sirius has been having lots of reported problems with the internet streaming of Art's show due to very heavy load.
Art mentioned on the air that his show is already "pirated" a lot on the internet with free live streams and recordings appearing the next morning on youtube.
So his plan is to get Sirius to allow him to provide a FREE internet stream of the live show only, no archives or replays that would be on Sirius only.
I hope Art is successful in getting a FREE live internet stream available, since there are many Art Bell fans who are outside of the USA+Canada and can't subscribe to Sirius even if they wanted to pay for it.

HMC

I sure hope SiriusXM lets them stream. That would be huge.

I keep wondering, how are they going to pay for the bandwidth if millions are listening to a free live stream?  Love the idea though, just don't want Art to piss off Sirius by asking for too much, too soon.

HMC

Yeah, he does seem to be making a lot of demands rather quickly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the stream and that infrastructure is at Art's expense. Maybe he will stream the show out of his own pocket, essentially raising the jolly roger and beating the pirates at their own game.

Why?

It's known that Art is working for next to nothing but that he does get a percentage of all the ad revenue which would suddenly be reaching a new and more lucrative market. Just a thought.

He has said Sirius has provided him with carte blanche to do what he will with the way the show is run, so maybe Art will provide a certain amount of bandwidth for live streaming, and once that's used up you won't be able to accomodate any more folks listening live. So you're not guaranteed to get to listen during very high volume times. That will be the benefit to listening through XM.

Of course this is also a bit weird because Stern has a huge audience. How is that accomplished? Is it because he has a dedicated channel? Or that Art's show is during off-time at night? Maybe the stream is just a stopgap measure for a year or so and then will be removed once there are enough shows to give Art his own dedicated channel to avoid all of this?

I've never had a problem with Sirius except for the show previous to Spooky Matter. Then I lost the stream twice in a row but was able to regain it after that. But it's different since I'm a Canadian subscriber, and I still have to put up with the 90 minute timeout as well.

Juan

I had a lot of problems the first two or three weeks, but lately, the Sirius stream has been good at my place.

My SiriusXM stream has been pretty stable. I changed my connection from wireless to Ethernet. That seemed to be the turning point.

I have never had any significant problem in my car. Ever so often the signal drops in densely forested area or if there is a bad storm.
