I think if Art goes back to a mostly-paranormal/supernatural/etc format, Coast will probably shed many of those elements and go further in the Wells/Jones/Beck direction...

I've seen this a few times, and for the life of me I can't see how Beck gets lumped in with those two wackjobs. One of these things is not like the others. It must be based on his reputation (inaccurate, I think) rather than his actual show. I dunno.

While we wait it out here on CoastGab, we could amuse ourselves with a wish list to determine who gets custody of the kids in this upcoming "divorce." I'll begin:

Art
Whitley Strieber
Linda Moulton Howe
Bob Lazar
Peter Davenport
Seth Shostak
Michio Kaku

Snorge
Joshua P. Warren
Alex Jones
Lionel Fanthorpe
John Hogue
Glynnis "Numbers Lady" McCants
Christian "Turmeric" Wilde

Feel free to pile on.
Who gets Richard C. Hoagland?  And if RCH had a choice, who would he go with?  I think he'd miss making a fool out of sNoory.  But, more status being with Art.

The conversation is getting fun.
I think Hoagland will go wherever he gets on.
I think Streiber goes with Art..
I have had some personal conversation with John Hogue (not lying, but I cannot give many details) but I will tell you he'd end up with Bell in a heartbeat, I predict..

AS for Linda Howe?
I can only tell you this story.
When I was a kid, I remembered really loving Andre the Giant, even when they made him a heel.  I just loved the idea of this massive almost 8 foot tall wrestler. He was so cool to me (maybe because I have been short all my life.)
Nonetheless, during Wrestlemania 6 when he was 'washed up' and ready to retire, he was given the role of turning on Bobby the Brain Heenan and becoming a good guy once again, redemption for the Giant..
Video to prove:

Andre the Giant vs Bobby the Brain Heenan.

And Linda Howe is on tonight.
Wouldn't it be cool if somehow she did the radio version of Andre the Giant becoming great again?

I've listened to Beck's show plenty. More than enough to say that I think he belongs in that company. he's on the "light" end of the panic/fearmongering scale--he puts a funny/friendly face on it (and is far more listenable than either of the other two)--but it's definitely a difference of degree and not kind. To me, anyway.

Not sure what to make of all of this. I am not getting my hopes up on anything until I hear his voice on the radio.

Hoagland can stay with George.

When/if Art comes back and people discover or rediscover him, I really do feel like the days of C2C will be numbered.

This was leaked today, Noory first one-minute health care vignette:
How not to get a stroke:
Incredibly, I suffered a stroke several years ago, just listen to me talk.  Now, with this Bell guy coming back I a may have one again.  Producer took my blood pressure and it is through the roof.  Wildcard line one is set to be an autodial to 911 if it makes my hair turn red again.  Now, indeed, unbelievable, but how not to get a stroke is a personal think.  I will give my personal suggestion.  Just listen.  The sound of headphones coming off,  a chair being scooted under the studio desk area, and the sound of a slapping door as it hits him in the ass on his way out.  Noory quits.

for the most part I'm down with that list, but...you really want LMH to go to Art?

Also, it'd be fun to speculate on anyone that might end up as "joint custody".

She'll be good for some shit talking. Remember she didn't like Jorchie's joke about firing her.

I think Art has been researching and gathering new guests in preparation. He's going to blow our socks off  8)

Jorch can keep his infomercial guests.

April 1.. the big April Fools joke in which Noory said she would not come back again. She almost had a heart attack on air, or as george would say a heatch attach.
Read my post a few above about Andre the Giant turning on Heenan.
Imagine tonight, during 'conversations with Linda,' she does the same. I'd love it.

If LMH lays the smack down on Jorchie tonight it would mean to me that Art was for sure coming back. 100%! And she knows she'll have a home on his radio show  ;D

Does anyone have the audio of this April Fools prank?

Let's watch for tension.
There sure was last time Hoaxland was on.

I think the Art Bell vs GNS drama would be a lot like that cable movie Late Night.  It told the story of Jay Leno snatching The Tonight Show from Dave Letterman. I am certain Premrat would threaten any guest banishment from C2C with GNS if they went on the New Art Bell show at all. I believe it would be mega-nasty.

Like Flounder said in Animal House ..."This is gonna be SO GREAT!!"

Whoever you are you are great! I couldn't agree more. Jesus, is it so wrong to bask in a potential return of good radio. Could I live in a world where I can listen to Art again? I found Art in 1996. Is anyone even close to what he did? I mean, paranormal wise? Art made you want to believe in those old stories. So all of you negative folks, why are you trying to rain on our parade? If I could listen to Rollye from 10-12, and Art overnight I could die a happy girl:)

PS I am 38
No one else will ever be Art Bell. IMHO Clyde Lewis comes close. He is full of energy and is animated  through the whole show. He reads the books. He goes to ufo conferences and interviews big names

It would be nice, but she's too professional for that sort of thing.  That's why she's exciting as dishwater but it's also why she's good, and it's dirty dishwater.  Dirty, dirty dishwater...

I'm hoping LMH goes with Art and gives Jorch the finger after his little *joke* about firing her on air. When she was on Dreamland, back in the day, she and Art had actual interesting conversations, not like now where Jorch goes and reheats pizza rolls with an occasional grunt until her time slot is up. She can't help her voice, but she does her research which is more than I can say for some of Jorch's other guests or him, for that matter.

Hoagy reminds me of the obnoxious kid someone has to take in the divorce, but he's shrewd enough to figure out where he's better off considering he's got nothing except a line of bullshit, so he's going to stay put I bet, until he figures out which way the wind blows.

The one I feel bad for is Dannon Brinkley because he seems so loyal that he'd be like the kid in the divorce who doesn't want to pick either parent for fear of hurting the other, but Art had him first, as he did with most of the guests, minus the cancer, turmeric quacks. I'm betting Brinkley shares his time between both.

I agree, there's gonna be major drama going down if Art's show directly competes with c2c.  But if Art only does Friday and Saturday nights, not so much.  I'm still dubious over if Art is going to come back 5 nights a week after what he posted on Facebook about how that would get in the way of spending quality time with the wife and daughter.  Unless that statement was just a ploy to get bigger money offered to him to do a radio show.

rangerdavid

Gosh I really do HOPE this is for real!!  I am sooooo ready for some quality talk radio, and I've almost memorized all my old C2C tapes from back in the day.

Wishful thinking, maybe? Coffee goggles?

Boy, talk about a tempest in a teapot... Still, I'll weigh in on this not-very-weighty issue.

The woman in question has a very youthful body and is dressed in a very youthful fashion (tight jeans & Ugz).  She may have on grandma glasses, but I think she looks like a very young woman.  And according to many posters on YouTube, the original video shows her dancing to some hip-hop song.

I agree.  Maybe I'm just old but she looks young and taut to me.  Her hair style, face structure, and thick glasses give her face an older appearance but I think that's deceptive.

So what is the rate at which the letters are linking? I haven't been paying attention, but is it a new letter linked every day? If so than eight days remain, then what happens?

So far as I know, all the letters now linked (except the '?') were done last night over the course of three or four hours.

Looks good to me.  LMH would definitely jump to Art, if she can.  If I remember correctly, PremRat actually pays her to show-up for The Nooron so I wonder if she has any kind of competition restrictions.  You can feel her disgust with The Nooron, especially after that childish prank of his.

Crazy uncle Hoagland...hmmmm... not sure where he'd land.  He may have worn out his welcome with Art and I'd be perfectly happy to see him go down with The Mothership and Capt. Nooron.

Doomster Dames doesn't even show-up that much anymore, but once is more than enough.  Transfer Maj. Dames to Noory's Navy and throw him on The Mothership, too.  He can find out if remote viewing "skills" improve lifeboat navigation.

Lionel Fanthorpe... gag... a typical Noory-type guest.  For me, he ranks up there with The Nooron's childhood idol Morgus (no insult intended for The Chief Coastgab Historian of C2CAM "Morgus").  He definitely stays with Jorch where he can continue to make Jorch squeal like a bobbysoxer teen when he does his "Springheel Jack" spiel for the thousandth time.

I'm thinking Art will line-up a slew of fresh, new guests, as well, in a refreshing break from the PremRat programming "recipe book."

I believe that is correct.

The 2013 April Fools day joke was that someone swallowed a tomato seed and had a tomato plant growing in their stomach.  It fooled a little girl who called in the following week.  I believe there were no other 'April Fools Day' activities this year, but the LMH one was fairly recent so I will concur probably 2012.
