Why does everyone think age has anything to do with it?......

It has a tremendous amount to do with energy, stamina and resilience. Plus as we age we become less willing to disrupt our schedules. And then there's the sheer will to do something that is real work, a decade after you last did it, with no real monetary need to do so. If Art is truly thinking about returning to radio (which remains to be seen) this could easily be a case of his eyes being bigger than his stomach. The idea of doing overnight radio may be much more enticing than the reality.

But then his wife's pre-nup may have vested and he won't have to stay awake in the day anymore for his daughter's sake, since she'll be in the P.I.

I don't understand why a small percentage of Art Bell 'fans' seem to want to throw dirt on his coffin, it's weird.

Unresolved daddy issues?  There they were, lying warm and comfy in their beds, drifting off into peaceful slumber; a man's strong baritone voice elicited feelings of safety and reassurance as he read them the most remarkable bedtime stories.   Art was an archetype of the perfect daddy. Then, BAM!, he abandoned them without warning.   Like a Disneyland dad, he occasionally returned for brief moments in time, always unpredictable, only to abandon them again.  Finally, he was gone entirely, replaced by the most wickedly evil stepfather imaginable.  For some, the abandonment and betrayal wounded so deeply in their psyches that he can never be forgiven.  I feel sad for them.

But there are those few in whom the narcissistic wound is so grievous that it compels them to their own acts of cruelty.  These are the ones who, especially when they have reason to think the man himself might be reading their words,  lash out in sadistic verbal attacks against his personhood, his marriage, his children, the death of his wife...wherever they think their attacks might cause him the most pain.     Those folks are the products of improper toilet training, and I don't feel sad for them.

Since he got Facebook he has made more than  a few comments about CNN's downfall newswise, along with CNN's Headline News network..
So the latest Bell comment only is par for that course.
But it also shows he is still opinionated--opinions of sense that we lack.

In all fairness to Art, Coast to Coast AM has a larger vehicle/audience to advertise their social media sites on/to.

If social media existed in the 90s Art's twitter would have exploded with followers.

If he returns to the airwaves again and advertises his social media sites then I am willing to bet he will exceed Noory's following.
