I did see a glimmer of hope when Art used the f-word... "fidgety" in his opening segment. ;)

I do appreciate your suggestion, but I'm in such turmoil personally right now that I'm in no way ready for "showtime."

Some time has passed, but he told me not to call until everyone had their fidgets. Well they don't, so since I'm not looking piss Art off... no surprise calls.

If he wants anything otherwise, he knows how to find me.

I'm just glad he's back, for the sake of everyone!

mf

Sorry to hear about the personal turmoil but, when you get on the other side of that, please reconsider.

IMO,  you've more than redeemed yourself.
If I had to repay everybody I've scammed, let's just say I have a less than pleasant life review to look forward to.
And you didn't even do it intentionally. If you owe anyone a Fidget they know where to find you, right?
And if they don't, you can tell them on Midnight.

Really enjoyed the show! Graham Hancock was a great first guest! ;D

Hancock mentioned Randall Carlson and I hope that he will soon be Art's guest on the show.

Do we already know who is today's guest? Michio Kaku?

Here's some album art I whipped up for my MITD archive files.

wonder who the guest is tonight?  It really sucks Noorie plays this game of his. I like knowing who the guest is going to be. But I can deal because Are is a great host.

These were posted to their twitters.

I think it would be ok if Art told the next night's guest at the end of the show.
Noory couldn't steal a guest with less than a days notice in time. ;)

Hey ya'll,

I just became a Time Traveler, sitting here with coffee and listening to last night's show this am.
Best £3 I have spent in ages!

It's 2015. I'm 38 and again, I am able to listen to Mr. Bell...this is the best way to wake up!

Yay!!

And out of the entire Internet, this is the only place that I can express my excitement to people that totally get it:)

Mr. Bell soothes my soul!!
This is awesome!! :)

Kind Regards,
Asa:)

If I recall Art just said we would do it again tomorrow at the end of the show.

Glad to be here!
It's been two very long years!

and you know what, I did not realise that the show would be every week-night. I thought it was just going to be once a week.
I ain't complaining... my gods, $5/£3 a month is a really really good deal and the sign up was simple and easy.

"Oh my lord! Oh, Art, Art, I love you!" from the female caller that didn't realise she was talking to Art.

XD

Asa

Well if he is then that would be a great show because he was a guest on Dark Matter previously and he was a revelation from what I recollect, very articulate and lots of interesting information.

I agree. I enjoyed his appearance on Dark Matter.

I've just started listening to the new show. Wow, it's great to hear the old boy back in  the saddle again. I don't think he had to worry whether he'd still got it. As soon as he reams someone's ass on the phone for doing something they shouldn't then it will be just like old times.

Edit: Rose's call was funny; sounds like she had an orgasm when she found out she was talking to Art.

cweb

Caught the first hour of the show before I lost the battle with sleep.

Art was really digging those tunes. He sounded rejuvenated. Speaking of sound, that AAC is something nifty.

LOVED hearing Rose's call. What a sweetheart! Great call for the first show.

Graham was a great pick for first guest. Can't wait to listen to what I missed.

After hearing the first call from Rose I knew that all is well in the Desert.

I'm listening to the 2 hours I missed right now. Art's genuine interest hasn't faded a bit. He's still at the top of his game and it sounds like he's having a great time. I know I am.

"This is Art?!!!! Oh my god!!!! Those other shows say that they don't screen callers but they still do. This is ART!!! Oh my god!!!!!! Really?!! Oh my god!!!"  Rose from Illinois

Still giving Bellgasms after all these years. Good times.

CornyCrow

Yes.  It certainly is great to be able to listen to a good show overnight.
I fell asleep during one of the commercials, which makes me glad to be a Time Traveller.

I laughed out loud at that one! It was great!

I think that would make a great promo  ...

It was a great show. I was a little bit nervous when it started, like a lot of people, I guess, but he's just as good as he ever was. It was a breath of fresh air. He just brings things to the radio that no-one else does, and no-one ever gets close. What a master. It feels like the universe is back on track again now. Dave who?

Even Hancock's pronunciation of marijuana didn't annoy me.

Mary-oo-ahna?

And he butchered up Carl Sagan's name ffs.

I think we can expect more of this from some of the guests at first, they've been exposed to George Noory for too long

Hello Gabblings!  I've been following this thread for weeks and I figured I should stop lurking and become a member.  I started listening consistently in'97 and in the interest of full disclosure, I have been a streamlink member for years, and now a proud Time Traveller!  I hope to make this forum my new online community.
I love the fact that Art was so dissatisfied with the state of C2C that he had to come back.  I'm thrilled to hear the conviction in his voice.

Art was the first broadcaster I've ever heard that wasn't interested in the corporate agenda and his integrity demanded my respect.  It was his intellect that drew me in as a listener.  It was solely because of Art that I found myself at my local music store, buying "Nothing But A Heartache", just so I could hear the full song and get it to stop repeating in my brain.

Cheers to everyone as I hop along for the ride!  I've got snacks and juice boxes for everybody!

(Shudder). I have an image of Dave in a dirty raincoat now - thanks for that!

He also mispronounced 'pharmaceutical' too. A strange man really, and it doesn't exactly help his credibility by confessing that he did most of his work while fucked up off his tits on hallucinogens, but he knows best I suppose. But that's Hancock's thing these days; he loves to tell us all about his drug use, and then go on a bit of a quasi-hippie tirade about how we are taking the planet into a dark alley and bending it over an oil drum. I have heard other interviews where he can sound pretty tedious but it is to Art's credit that he made it all so involving. The bit where they seemed to bond over their experiences inside the Great Pyramid just made me realise all over again that there is no-one else like Art for bringing the listener into the conversation.

The only gripe about the show is that it is too short, but I guess Art would rather hear that criticism than that it was too long. It felt like we were only just getting going before it all had to be wrapped up. I didn't feel that the callers added very much on this occasion, but you can't blame Art for that. Too many Australians, and the guy from the Philippines was really starting to piss me off.

I fell asleep before the show was over! Was wondering if the rest of the show went smoothly? Any more notable dropouts?

I only heard the archived version, but I don't recall any more disasters after the first one where Hancock disappeared after a couple of minutes. If I had a gripe overall it would be that things got rushed in the final hour and that the callers didn't add very much - you felt that Art had more interesting things to say and handing the last 20 minutes over to a few attention seekers didn't really add much to the show..

As an American Ex-Pat living approx. 30 miles down the road from Mr. Hancock's Bath abode, I can asure you that the English find great humour in how Americans incorrectly pronounce (and spell) nearly everything... I've learned to live with our differences and, more importantly, to celebrate our similarities. (That said, I will NEVER accept their gross bastardization that is "Aluminium")

I'm listening to the last 30 minutes now.  It sounds great.  I'll bet Art was very happy he was getting callers from all over.  The Philippines, Scotland...  The only program drop I noted last night was early in the program, around the 10 minute mark, when somebody came on, said something like " we lost him already" but then got things back on track fairly soon.

All in all, I couldn't be more pleased.  It was MUCH smoother, compared to Sunday night.  It's no where but up from here.  MITD is a BIG Winner!

Be afraid, Dave.  Be very afraid.
