This is an odd thing to say, particularly considering that I spent my twenties and thirties huddled up in jungle huts and mountain caves with traditional indigenous psychedelic shamans, but I'm just very little interested in hearing about these things, and cosmic consciousness and all that junk. It's like hearing someone being interviewed about gardening or sex. If your listening to, or talking about it, you're not doing it. Some subjects are just not suited to voyeurism imho.

Having said this, I can't wait to hear Art interview Graham Hancock. Because it's Art. He's back!

However if more took your path, even for a short distance. Those huts and caves might have been mighty cramped. Leaving one to possibly consider. Why don't all you squares go find a job, and get off of my cloud! Possibility even leaving one with a different outlook on the whole experience. Maybe for better, or worse...

The nail that sticks out always gets hammered the most, and hardest. Most folks just go with the flow of least resistance, of the life thats set out before them. Being different can be scary and hard. Being different in society can also be costly both socially and financially. Squares seldom see the cost benefit ratio of enduring such hardships pursuing "countercultural" endeavors. Hence the squares have to live vicariously through those like yourself, who've taken the path less traveled.

The last radar scan I saw showed things to be pretty clear with a few scattered light showers. Looks like things will be good for the show!

Art is back. Life just got a little better. Even the NoSleep Podcast gave him a shout-out Saturday night. So much rejoicing from so many people, myself included.

It's funny... I just realized that I am just happy to have Art back, and I feel like there are only a few people who are truly happy with no conditions.

At this point, if Art were to welcome Jorch as a co-host and say that "he gets it" I would be willing to give it a shot.  All of that is fluff- Art is broadcasting again after two years.

Even stranger is that I am not a great "fan."  I am not somebody blinded who believes that he can do no wrong... But I want to enjoy this moment of his return without picking it apart.

SETI has pretty much been nothing but a big waste of time and money so far. That being said, hopefully this leads to something worthwhile

For the record, I am an insufferable skeptic. I don't believe in Bigfoot, ghosts, or alien abductions. I am willing to consider such possibilities, however I have yet to see any convincing empirical evidence of their existence. Nevertheless, Coast to Coast with Art Bell was the only radio show I always made it a point not to miss. Not because I wanted to deride the sometimes preposterous guests or topics, but because Art always made the whole thing so damned interesting. It was fun, like telling ghost stories around the campfire.

When that bumper music started, and that inimitable voice came out of the darkness, talking about Mel's Hole, or Atlantis, or cattle mutilations, we could forget, at least for a few hours, what a crummy day we'd had. It wasn't the subject matter so much as the way Art did the show. He was a master of the art of radiocraft, <snip>

I see Art as a straight man maybe like Peter Cook to Jorch's Dudley Moore or Ren and Stimpy.  Or better yet,  Art would be Dean Martin to Jorch's Jerry. Jorch would be so jealous with that one. He always wanted to be a member of the Rat Pack.  Well I guess he could always eat rats if he's that desperate. Ready to join the club, Jorch? We'll keep the light on for ya.

Hey Kieth or Art, a possible suggestion for show descriptions would be to provide the list of music used for that shows bumpers, so after Time Travelers download the show, they can add whatever music files (hopefully legal) back in to the download in editing.

When you hit the air tomorrow with Crystal Gayle and Graham Hancock, the crowds will roar.  Listeners might want to know something about me, I will think carefully on what I am willing to reveal.  I cannot blame anyone for wanting to hear more of you doing your magic.

Yes, maybe listeners thought I'd be with you every night, and were spooked by that.  If they realized it's just an occasional Open Lines possibility, maybe we'd all relax.

As I said, it is such a joy knowing your non-compete is over and we can look forward to tuning in tomorrow night for another ride into the unknown.
