I'm not advocating, at this point, a no-fly zone in Syria. First, the timing is wrong. Second, it would be best done via a UNSC resolution, which Russia would likely never sign onto. Third, it probably wouldn't work for the intended purpose, which continues to be to protect civilians from attack by Assad and everyone else currently fighting. I could think of a few more reasons.

But the role of Russia in the Middle East versus the US role does concern me, just as our competing and often opposing interests in Europe concerns me. Another confrontation with the Russians is almost inevitable and the ability to keep it contained and to resolve it to our advantage and that of our allies will require a lot of skill and experience by the next president. I don't trust Hillary, Bernie or Donald to fill this role well -- each for different reasons. One could be arguably better than the other, but their merits relative to one another are not very reassuring when you're about to pull the lever.

A consideration, sure. But not the main consideration. Right now, honesty or "authenticity" is the dominant factor in campaigns succeeding or failing and voters favoring one candidate over another. There's no real battle of ideas or debating over key policy decisions that will need to be made. No my master plan versus your master plan. Just position papers and sound bites.

Plus, they're all politicians, even Trump who has never held political office, so none of them should be thought of as honest people. Better to set some benchmarks and assess them based on how they would be likely to act if elected.

I don't like how Trump is making divisive statements no matter how popular they are with his followers. Do I think any politician is going to get everything they want? no, but at least I like what Sanders is talking about.

I also appreciate the fact that Sanders was the lone dissenting vote on the invasion of Iraq.  It was as obvious as hell that Bush was grasping at straws to capitalize on America's post-9/11 blood lust to get us into that fucking catastrophe, and Sanders was the only with the sense to trust the UN weapons inspector's reports, over the lies and scare tactics the Bush administrations was shoveling to the media.

A press release, a line of enquiry does not make. But even if it did, nowhere does it say the police found any evidence to support the claims made. Nothing. You can spin however you want, but there's nothing there to open an investigation to apprehend a culprit.

I'd love to see the facts. As too I'm sure the local plod would. You do know how criminal investigations work don't you? Victim (or the police) report a crime; police establish any grounds for an investigation; if there is, they do; and then set about finding a culprit and question them to establish if there is a case to answer, if there is, they build a case for prosecution.
