Oh look, another round of the same people giving the same opinion every day for weeks on end.

Look for the new wrinkles. I've actually found a gem or two doing that.

He owes the people who treat him like he's a golden calf.

How out of your senses would you need to have been to have become a Time Traveler, anyway? Did that come with the satin jacket?

Ciardelo

So Meatie Pie is just shouting into the thread now. lol Goddam that fucker must owe her.

Look, we're going to have to agree to disagree on the use of the word "invested." Was it you who offered up the distinction between interest and investment in terms of that going to the beach example? That was just plain wrong. I don't think you understand the difference, or care to.

Again, I gave you plenty of new material to work with, if that's what you want. All I ask is that you expand your vocabulary. Some people here are passionate about defending free speech, or their notion of it. I'm passionate about defending the English language.
I don't think I would have made a point about interest and investment. I do live on the beach, however, so I dunno, but don't think so. I do know the difference between interest and investment, so again, I dunno.

Look, I don't know how to explain it to you, invested isn't a negative term. Nor is it primarily used in psychology. It appeared and still appears that many here have an axe to grind but the stone is pretty much gone. Are you one of the many? I don't know, feels like it to me, but so what? I never suggested you needed to stop your posts. I was actually more asking Shredni, than anyone else. I did suggest others could answer, but that was in my mind to be fair. I respect the shit out of Shredni. And I also really like Heather. So I asked, as you say, freedom of speech and all.

It was a solid two months. I got fair value. I paid for it with an account that is now closed. That fucker doesn't owe me. Ha!

You can't "plonk" the truth baby! lol You think that fucker owes you!

It's always either positive or negative with you. All your focus on values makes you appear to seem to be really mercenary. How does that make you feel?

3OctaveFart

Jackstar, the show was not exceptional. Solid is a vague term.

Frankly, listening to Heather this week it was not much better than her show. The Travis Walton show was a glint of the old AB, but that was early on before the restlessness set in.

Here we go again with the lawsuit.

Want to keep bringing this up?

if Art wants to sue me for restating, giving my opinion  and asking questions about a publicly available information on a video made by a person he sued once and never sued again for the information I have brought up- By all means... He can try.

Whether Art does pursue you Legally or not, and whether or not he wins or loses the case if he does, and regardless of the purse-size of any such win, the key bit is this; does Art Bell have GROUNDs to persue DarKPenguiN. A freind, had a Defamation Lawyer look over your record at Bellgab over the past couple weeks and that Attorney reported back thusly:

"Art Bell has a strong case against DP.  The legal standard for libel has been met, including actual malice, which applies to public figures in some instances.  He’s done a smart job of laying the foundation for damages in this case.  A promissory estoppel argument could remove the shield of Section 230 immunity.  If DP has few assets, Art may consider a criminal complaint for cyberstalking, a Class C-3 felony in his venue, for which the required elements have likewise been met."

You, DP, can take any objections you may have with this assessment up with _your_ Attorneys (not with me) but there you have it, from an actual Lawman.

I apologize for my lack of apparent clarity. Allow me to remedy: my benchmark here is always C2CAM, hosted by George Noory. I don't want to go off on a rant here, but that guy sucks.

So as long as Heather is more tolerable than he, I find her more than adequate and readily acceptable. Further analysis of her chops as an MC will be gathered over time. For now, I find "solid" to be an appropriate description thus far.

She does not compare to Ian Punnet, George Knapp, Dave Schrader, or many others--because she has just started, Assholes. We'll see. In the meantime, she's nowhere near as bad as many other corporate radio hoors, and I see no signs that she's getting any worse, to me, than George "Company Man" Noory. So, solid.

By way of example, I don't find any solid meaning in this sentence you posted, in or out of context. What gives? You company man! You fairy! Whoever told you, you could post with robots?

Now wait a minute MP...btw...Hi <wave>

I'm on EST...couldn't listen to MITD live, however waited so long for Art to finally come back the $5 was worth it for me and others.

Art can do a show or not...he owes us nothing in that regard.

What he does owe is loyal fans IMHO is some respect and honesty IMHO, without the drama and seeming BS and so many carrots over the years.

None of us would have been happy if he came on the air, "hung up the mic"...quit but not retire, if we felt he was honest...

Whether it was because it was too much for him, whether it was pressure from his wife as MITD was impeding too much on their family life, whether he expected more of a following/success with the show and wasn't getting the results he wanted, whether he got bored and just couldn't get into it anymore...whatever.

In any of the above, it would not have been an easy exit and we'd still see a lot of what we are seeing now, however atleast maybe it would have been honest, or more honest.

Seems the "golden calf" crowd will always be there for him, however I don't know if Art realizes that there are many who used to wait for his carrot teases, wait for him to come back, go come back...however maybe what he doesn't realize is that so many of the "calf crowd" have finally left the building.

Perhaps at his age, he doesn't care anymore and just chose what he thought was the best way to ride away...until he tosses that carrot again.

I had a lot of time off work this fall so I was able to catch the show at home on a nightly basis, and eh, the magic was not there. Just one listener's opinion. And whenever it was - sometime in September I think it was - when he announced he was taking a night off "to recharge" (or words to some effect), I knew the show's days were numbered.

The stupid callers, trodden material and technical snafus could not have been encouraging him it was something he wanted to keep doing. I don't blame him for walking. Being distanced from a young child by work obligations is a difficult thing that leaves marks. But dammit, be a man about it and just say so. "I bit off more than I could chew, I'm sorry and I have to attend to my private life."

The bold part is definitely true. But "invested" can be used in a negative way, depending on the context, and I have often seen it used that way here and elsewhere. Connotation is the point here and unless you're clearly talking investment/finance, it can be a bitch. Hell, in terms of context, I got yelled at here because I said that, yes, even a coffee cup can be used as a weapon in particular circumstances. In return, I got "It's only a coffee cup, you idiot" or words to that effect.

I respect Shredni too and I overlook his sharp tongue because of the overwhelming value of what comes out of his mouth. Also, I think he means no harm, although it may sound like he does. Honestly, I'm neutral on Heather. For me, she's just a starting point for a larger conversation about things bigger than her and MITD. But if someone like me tries to springboard from Heather, the response is usually all about Heather. That's one reason this thread is in a rut.

As you all know first prize is a Cadillac El Dorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired. Get the picture? You laughing now? Coffee is for closers.

That's my opinion as well...nothing else makes any sense.

Or Airyn/Erin/Irene gave him an ultimatum that doing the show was not the life she was prepared to live with Art ( nights alone 5 days/week in the middle of nowhere with a child in bed) and he had to make a choice and find a way out.

So....to find out what all the hate is about do I really need to go back a 1000 pages to see what DP has said?

I mean true, I don't have a life but still...............
