I imagine my call dropped, I don't think our conversation had degraded to "hang up on him," I could be wrong, I suppose. ;) I guess I'll hear what happened when this episode is posted.

nooo, the conversation hadn't degraded, but i did deliberately hang up.  that's how i end every call to the show rather than with a big goodbye, etc... makes for a smoother listening experience for the audience.

Mac has "innovated" yet again!
Mac has invented a new iDevice spanning many years of research and development.
This new portable iDevice will take the world by storm.
We expect demand to be so high that people will camp out at our stores for many month.

We now present to the world the most innovative portable iDevice ever created by Mac.
Brace yourselves for the NEW iWhizz! $350 - $499.

How long is the battery life?
Does the new iWhizz come with a standard charger AND a car charger?
What about an adapter for dwarfs, is it extra?

Glad to read it, I thought my cell phone dropped the call. I also thought we were coherently (albeit at a geeky level) discussing technology pertinent to the internet. Thanks for giving me even handed treatment, it makes me feel good about expending the effort to tackle explaining SG's SQRL.
For the "you talk too fast" commenters in the chat... what are you?... speech cops? I speak quickly because I can, and it is comfortable for me. People adept in CS would (and I speculate, did) understand me perfectly. I don't ask people who talk slowly to speed up, and why would I? I am not your speech coach. Finally, although I can speak slowly, that will not make the technically specific nomenclature of computer science any more apparent... as a matter of fact... I think the non-technically proficient would just suffer prolonged befuddlement.
Next time I call in... for dramatic effect, I will speak slowly... and I think people will understand why you would (currently unbeknownst to yourselves) prefer that I speak quickly, the call takes less time... and will cover more ground.

For the unfamiliar (which would include neither MV or Curtis) this is what I was talking about:

https://www.grc.com/sqrl/sqrl.htm

And this is why it is not vaporware:

https://www.grc.com/sqrl/implementations.htm

SQRL has the potential to dramatically increase security, and convenience for both users, and site administrators.

Surely you've noticed no one on TV, or in the movies, or giving a speech, or teaching a class, etc - talks too fast.

Now if you are an auctioneer, a used car salesman, dealing 3 card monte, or doing a commercial and trying to put in a bunch of disclaimers you hope no one will hear, carry on.

I am not an Apple user to any great degree, although I appreciate the art and effort that goes into their impressive designs.

But I'm going to be straight up honest about this watch vector.

I would rather have that new pointy Blackberry Passport than the Apple watch.

I mean it! Don't fuck with me! I'll jump!

I'm not a fan of the wearables "push."

(A one exabyte smart fedora being an obvious exception. I would wear such a hat, white, black, or gray.)

1st gen iWhizz has no battery, once full you return it to the Mac store and get a $20 discount on a replacement iWhizz. We will figure out how to strap a proprietary non-user replaceable battery into 2nd generation iWhizzez.

Does the new iWhizz come with a standard charger AND a car charger?
See above. We are Mac car chargers will be extra on the 2nd Gen iWhizz.

What about an adapter for dwarfs, is it extra?
::) Again we are Mac EVERYTHING is extra.

This would be a good time to announce Mac is innovating yet again!
3 months after the iWhizz hits the market Mac will revolutionize the portable personal hydration market.
Details are forthcoming, the product will be called iUrophagia.
Users who find nirvana in Mac culture are guaranteed to find bliss in piss.

Mac will not only be able to profit from our shit, but will also be able to profit from your piss.
Almost a perfect circle of consumption, between sniffing your farts.
iSoylent will complete that perfect circle once we can produce it in white.

There is nothing wrong with a higher rate of speech in and of itself. If pressured speech also demonstrates other characteristics at the same time it can be indicative. Last night MF was normal in his presentation with the slight attempt to slide into past history. Moderation of topic kept that from happening.

Thanks MV, when I call someday with slooow speech, I'll keep it brief & humorous. I have a strange vocal range, and since I grew up all around the United States... can emulate many different accents and basic speech patterns. If you'd not be bothered, from time to time, it might be funny to call in in an accent. Imagine "I don't know what went ROM, my backside cache megahertz, do I need to un..in..stall or should I just reboo...t?" in a deep woods Ma & Pa Kettle accent. :)

Point goes to paperboy.  mr. Fijit, it makes us Earthers nervous when you talk so fast. ;-) :-)(Not that you spoke that fast yesterday but the time before that you were really flying)

Nano nano. :) I can't wait till Orson sends the mothership. Hopefully he will reprogram me out of my ultra defensive posture. This habit/practice/tendency of mine to go all "mutually assured destruction" over the smallest amount of snark... is really over the top.

I too, like everyone else, have a lot a room to improve.

A true geek can fap to this... so stop it, Curtis.

anyone that is interested in joining us for the first bellgab.com gaming day this saturday let me know by pm and I will send you the details to connect.  We are going to play warcraft III since it is one of the only games certified for Windows 8.1 and above.  As soon as we know how many (if anyone) wants to connect we will set a specific time.

If we get more than Michael and I playing I am of the opinion we should live stream the entire event.

Yes, it does.

I can deal with the stripped down flat look, even the ribbon.
Deal breakers for me are the Playskool tiles, and Windows Media Center at an extra cost.
Making the OS look like I want isn't a problem, but why spend the time and money doing so?
Plus I see nothing under the hood that compels me to spend my hard earned cash for the "upgrade."
