Love an old movie but don't want to sit through it yet again? Might I recommend Oliver Harper's Retrospective Reviews...

Strobe lights and sirens. I'm honoured. Does the Falkie thread have can-can dancers?

Just tin cans, tied to its tail.

Joe Rogan most popular podcast to date.  Staring Alex Jones and Eddie Bravo ( #911).

The good news is pretty obvious, the bad news is he's on Sirius. Then again, he probably has some idea of how to get on with people.

Really?  My first thought was to hope that opera singer from Perth was ok.

Thought that was MV without his best mic.

When I read the headlines of that incident taking place, my first thought was "hope jaz is ok" then the second thought was "yeah, cos there's only about 12 people in australia" but then...

Heather has been complaining that all of the callers are breathing too hard. She should be used to it considering her previous employment.

I miss this awesome forum but whenever I try to return I find it dauntingly impenetrable... does that make me a cuck?

Okay, but the first new member who asks "Who is this Art Bell, anyway?" risks being ostracized if he/she doesn't get with the program, literally...

Why?

Edit: That reads back as a little combative, it's not meant to be. What I mean is why do you think that could be a potential situation in the future when there's no reason why stuff like that couldn't happen now? (and mostly doesn't)

Further Edit: Now I remember why I went with the short post originally.

All the next gen movies suck, and Picard breaks the prime directive in each one and acts like a damn action hero

This is just a fundamental flaw with all movies (except the odd breathtaking abomination like Tusk, see my post above), the budget-publish-distribute process cannot help but grind most of the interesting rough edges off of a story to the point where no-one enjoys the finished product. Hence we get action-hero variant Picard and the Hobbit's... well, just the Hobbit.

TV shows aren't much better, of course, but at least they seem to be trying these days.

Heh, nah the Kevin Smith movie. Holy shit, I really enjoyed a movie again! ...even if it did leave me scarred, scared and, indeed, somewhat scraped.

If you laughed uproariously watching Tetsuo the Iron Man on mushrooms, you'll still be appalled and frightened by Tusk.

You expect quality from movies?

"LOWER THE BOOM"
Everybody on this site has been, or will be, subjected to the will of inconsiderate idiots who cruise through neighborhoods rattling the peace with booming car stereos. Has anyone been able to get any kind of action by police or community groups to stop this? When I complained, the officer told me to sit on my porch with a video camera and "catch-em in the act". When I asked what good that will do, he shrugged and said it would help me feel better....... I responded by asking how many tickets he has issued in our city for the loud music... his response: silence   Even more pissed, I told him that auto air conditioning is not a right and to do his job with open windows at least half the time he's on duty.... silence..... I requested that signs be put up stating that offenders vehicles can be impounded for investigation if they are sited. His response.....silence  Found this website if you want to stand up for your rights http://lowertheboom.org/index.htm

It always reminds me of the Thumpers they used in Dune to attract sandworms... except where I live it's all 21-year-old boy racers trying to attract 12-year-old girls.

Also, a working knowledge of the parliamentary structure of the Soviet Union, which ended two years before we were taught about it  ::)

Listening to the recent jazcast. Chefist's call is a great example of the kind of cheerfully-threatening bullshit that makes me avoid alcohol and people who use it.

Yay!  ;D

This is what we all read :

If I had a mic, I'd read:

Quote from: (Sandman) Logan-5 on September 04, 2016, 05:58:10 PM
Speaker box for 1974 Foster 3" full range drivers. 3/4" plywood.
Sounds great.
1/2" and 3/8" bass reflex ports on both angled rear panels.
(just drilled holes and smoothed w/ Dremel & a grinding stone.)

Shrank the grills to 2 3/4" diameter.

Edit: Center cutout is for a cheapo $10.00 eBay amp.

Nah, I was exaggerating for comic effect. The punchline should have been "took me twenty years to learn to love acid again" (which is kind of true), but I got distracted.
