If the network is going to fold then let the fucker die and stop prolonging the agony. Let the old boy see what he has done and live with the consequences. If he really had genuine interest in her as a potential broadcaster  then he would have blooded her in some other less pressurised way - not putting her in for this sort of mauling, which was going to happen however promising she might be. The whole thinking behind this - and many other of his decisions - is fucked beyond all human hope and reason. You are welcome to enjoy whatever you like - just as some people enjoy the bouquet of their own piss - but don't give others a hard time for not sharing your eccentric proclivities.
