WHY AM I SUPPOSED TO HONOR A MAN WHO (AGAIN) WALKED OUT ABRUPTLY? THIS HAS BEEN HIS STANDARD PROCEDURE SINCE THE 90'S.  YEAH, LET"S ALL KISS HIS ASS.  >:(
Who's the king of the one-liners? You are big guy!

Let me the judge of whether you are a moron or not. First impressions are not exactly encouraging, but I shall give it time. You might look like a mildewed ear right now, but you may well turn into a delicate silk purse under the right circumstances.

No, I don't get it. If she doesn't want to do something, then she shouldn't bloody do it! All this backing into the limelight stuff is just phoney-baloney balls. If the network is going to fold then let the fucker die and stop prolonging the agony. Let the old boy see what he has done and live with the consequences. If he really had genuine interest in her as a potential broadcaster  then he would have blooded her in some other less pressurised way - not putting her in for this sort of mauling, which was going to happen however promising she might be. The whole thinking behind this - and many other of his decisions - is fucked beyond all human hope and reason. You are welcome to enjoy whatever you like - just as some people enjoy the bouquet of their own piss - but don't give others a hard time for not sharing your eccentric proclivities.

Bravo! An intelligent post on Bellgab. Rare and delicious.

You dont get it do you, we all want Art back as does Heather, and i assure you im NOT a bottom-feeding moron.
The network will likely be done with in 3 weeks, Heather doesn't want to be a broadcaster you nitwit, you just DONT get it do ya?

Okay, all good points. But I must invoke the Titanic analogy here (and it's shocking that I still haven't seen it mentioned). Some of us are pointing at the iceberg and yelling for a course change, a portion with saltier language than others. Some are trying to stay busy rearranging deck chairs and hoping to see the port of New York, and a few are out on deck fiddling away.

Unfortunately, and maybe possibly, not altogether by choice, one of those fiddle players is Heather. I can't suggest how to change her tune, but I will say this: Anyone who really has a gut feel for how to be a radio host would figure out a better way to bond with the audience in the current situation, particularly since she is such a veteran audience member. She may have tried, but she hasn't come close to doing it. If that sounds unfair, so be it. I can only go by what I hear.

I dont mean the news. I mean early in the show when heather is telling a story and reading a news report on it. She seems to have trouble doing that.
The news segment should never have appeared on arts show or heathers  show unless they wanted to purposely drive subscribers away of course. Its horrible.

Art says he never listens to his own shows, which makes sense why he allowed that on it. He must have never heard it.

This "opening news" segment is copied straight off C2C.

Good analogy. I would add the PAYING guests on the Titanic who are focusing totally on Heather and her fiddle, ignoring the increasing slant of the deck, and actively telling everyone else to shush up if they can't say something positive!

Damned if I do and damned if I don't.  See you tonight for Open Lines.  Let's make the best of this.  Let's have a fun show in Art's honor.

Only if you're really as delicious as your Emma Peel avatar. Can you be that delicious?! I dare you!

Temper, Temper. I guess my subtle point is that there are a lot of gorgeous women to lust after now. It seems sort of creepy to me to lust after a photo of a woman from 50 years ago, that's all. I didn't know I had the POWER to destroy everything for everyone. Wow. Maybe I will be invited to join the AVENGERS, like Ant Man?

I'm not angry. It's just a bit of pre-show fuckery. I don't give a shit that she's an old lady now. She's probably still out of my league  ;)

People pick on her and it was NOT her choice, Would you like Hoagie to do it instead? He's not dependable and Keith already stated he doesn't do paranormal stuff.
It baffles me that people critique something when you can do the same thing as  radio, ya dont like it, switch to another station, move on if you dont like the host , content, or music
on any given broadcast.
I dont like rap or pop music so i dont listen to those broadcasters, i dont complain to the station or pod casters about it though, thats just silly.

Nonsense. She had every choice in the matter. To do or not to do. Simple as that. The way it looks, though, had she deigned not to step up the network would've died all the faster. One thing I've noticed here is the Heather supporters seem far more quiet. Don't know what to make of that, but I think Dark Matter will be lucky to survive past January.

BTW, I actually like Heather myself as a host, but she...doesn't have a handle on shitty guests yet. Namely, she hesitates from calling their shit when they get really shitty. Last night was an example.

All I heard were how she was talking too much, talking not enough, letting the guest run the show, making the show about herself...jeez. I do't have a dog in this hunt other than I like good shows. If you think it is a shitty show, don't listen..I damn sure have never watched a Falkie video. I think that's shitty entertainment :)

Sometimes I wonder if Art Bell's tremendous EGO would not allow him to have a professional interviewer replace him (competition for the hearts and minds of Art Bell fans?). So, he insisted on a novice. I have nothing against Heather. She is doing her best. I think she would be an excellent podcast host for any other program on the internet. The problem is that she was asked to fill in for the Big Boss, and that takes a lot of talent and EGO. Heather seems like a nice person who is doing her best. She's just been asked to pilot a 747 full of customers without training, when she could have been much more successful starting out with a Piper Cub.  I hope Art didn't set her up to ensure that she wouldn't steal any of his almighty precious adoration from fans.  :(

I address her posts less than a handful of times over the course of years here, and I have a dog in that race, lol. When Sandras not on a tear about Hoaxie being the antichrist, her posts are bretty gud. Your whiteknighting however is hundreds of posts deep. :)

I think it's a pretty low-percentage theory. I ran it up the flagpole extremely briefly (on the "Tiberious choosing the monster Caligular as the next Emperor" precedent) but withdrew it in the same breath.

To me, a better place to start wondering is in the vicinity of how Art could participate in putting Heather in such a compromising position, being the radio maven he is. Sure, it was her choice as well, but that doesn't explain Art's motivation. Egotism alone doesn't explain this and frankly, I doubt that ego is Art's personal bugaboo. This is the kind of thing that comes out in a tell-all book, for those into that.
