I'm not sure if this was Malachi Martin or not, but I don't think it was. There was a guest that Art had on years ago who was a demonic exorcist? The one with the really gnarly recordings of supposed exorcisms? Those were creepy as fuck. Maybe it was Malachi, but I keep thinking it was someone else. I remember having the old coastgab stream playing one night and going to sleep to something benign but waking up to some kind of howling demonic recording hours later.

I'd like to hear Art do another show like that!

Was that the show where they played a tape of tape of an exorcism in front of an audience or something like that? Maybe it was a talk on exorcisms and they called someone up form the audience and he started speaking in a demonic voice. Memory is sketchy as those were my reefer madness days.

Absolutely.  I heard he cancelled the guests and will be turning the show over to a host who "gets it" named Noory.  Apparently, this Noory fellow used to host some paranormal program as "the nighthawk" before he started hosting infomercials on a syndicated radio program.  Anyhow, I wish this new host all the luck and hope that he realizes that there are some pretty big shoes to fill even if Art has only hosted for a couple of weeks before retiring...

Wow, too bad I missed this show! Was it at all obvious Hogue was out of sorts for being rushed on air? Or did this come as a total surprise?

Well Hogue is hard to listen to for any length of time. So specifics may be a bit difficult, cuz I ain't listening to him again. Art did guide the interview and did refocus hogue a few times. Hogue just wanted to blather on. Art was at no point rude or condescending, he never made any assertions to discredit. Art was professional, hogue doesn't understand that dynamic.

I've never been a fan of the guy myself, and was disappointed when I saw his name on the upcoming guest list. So I guess strike him off the list of potential future guests!

Art is going to scour the universe for new and better ..
He's just splashing in the shallow end until he gets adjusted to the water :)

This week's lineup looks a little more promising with guests I've never heard of before!

^^^^^ Yep.  Exactly how I remember it.  ^^^^^

I listened to the show and honestly did not think Art was being disrespectful at all.  It is true that Art did not let Hogue's claims about the accuracy of his own or Nostradamus's predictions go unchallenged, but that is his job as host.  If Hogue isn't prepared to be challenged on his claims that he has something like an 80% prediction success rate, then he should not go on any show at all.  If all he wants is a forum to plug his book, I suggest an infomercial where he can fill the crowd with paid "believers" convinced of his miraculous abilities.

I hope he doesn't darken Dark Matters again until he grows a thicker skin.

Throw Hogue on the scrap heap.  Next!  If Hogue wants to run an infomercial, call Dave.

He was expecting an infomercial when he was invited on. I'm glad that Art didn't just hand that to him and had the balls to run the show his own way.

Fuck Hogue. Nothing pisses me off more than "when you read my book" and/or "I discuss that in the book"

Exactly

Toxic Fluid

Going toe to toe with George might be fun but not now.  Give it 6 months for Art to come up to speed and he will leave George in the dust.  That is not to say that George did not try.  He did and Kudos for that George BUT, you're not Art.  Now that he is back again....

Art and Ian aren't big on that either.

I didn't bother listening to that show, but I doubt very much Art did anything except ask him some probing questions and keep him from running a filibuster.

I'm glad Hogue-land excused himself from future shows - although he doesn't seem to understand that's what he's done. There are 2 categories of shows I just skip - predictions / remote viewers / psychics, and certain bring overexposed full-of-shit guests.

Hogue-land falls into both categories.

Hell, Art could do a show about a hole in the ground and it would kick ass.   ;D ;D ;D

Toxic Fluid

One thing I like about Art's shows is that he doesn't constantly interrupt his guests with diverting questions like George does.  That drives me crazy.  Let George handle all the GIS shows. :)

The whole show is an infomercial with commercials.  I'm with you P*B, I generally skip those shows too.

Did you notice that Hogue's sorry ass was also discreetly ragging the fact Art had a 1st hour guest instead of giving him the whole show?

I actually liked the hogue show. Art called him out for the buy my book bull. Kept him mostly on track.

popple

Even if he had the entire show he would still be moaning about how Art rushed him and wouldn't let him talk about things in depth. Even though when asked to talk in depth about things he would say "you'll have to read my book".  I wouldn't even illegally download a pdf of his garbage.

All that is is a ploy to encourage you to buy the book because you, the listener, are then so curious (supposedly) to know what it is that he won't discuss on the show.  It's really tacky and classless and desperate.  Makes me wonder just HOW badly the book is selling.

Every time I hear him called "The Nighthawk" I think instead of Vonnegut's frequently used "Shitbird" which seems much more appropriate.

Oh well. Art reminded him where he can go to be pampered by a lazy hack. I bet Jorchie jumps at the opportunity to get him on his show to bask in all the "you're a real host George," I love being a guest on c2c haha.

They might be awesome, but we won't know until showtime.  They both look like cool ladies to me.
