Finding out information on Art's Pad in Nevada is easy, tons of public information on it. You can even take that little yellow guy on Google Maps and look right at his front door.
Now who here is so over obsessed that they can find Art's flat in Manila?
After that who can find me the trailer house that George lives in outside a St. Louis Taco Bell?

Fort Rock I hope you are right about Art coming back. I fear the longer he is off the air the more complacent he will become and the more he will find sole satisfaction with his HAM.

Are you kidding?  Are you NOT a long-time-listener?  Do you not KNOW the obstacles Art has overcome to keep coming back to radio?  He has been sued, accused, attacked, rejected, insulted, grief-stricken, overwhelmed, technically frustrated.  He has hunkered down while weather and psychological forces screamed all around him.  He does w h a t e v e r  he wants because he can.  He is unique in a niche full of wannabes, inserting his cannot-be-duplicated flavor to the subjects which have been explored repeatedly.  He has the synapses and the memory to ask the ONE question that makes the guests repetitious assertives new today--the holy grail of journalism's hook--Art ALWAYS made one, and if he didn't have one, he MADE ONE UP--and it worked.  Nobody does this... and we listeners LOVE the guy for his humility and his ego.

He actually said some of the same things Noory has said, but Art had his tongue in his cheek.  That's the difference.  Noory can't even spot live the difference between Hawaiian lotion and Hawaiian beverage and doesn't think it matters anyway, because the response is the same!  "Good for you and now on to the Wild Card line..."

We all know intelligent progressives will not be joining the Noory worship (oh, yes, hold my hand through these end times so we can get to them together...I don't want to be alone....).  If the number of lonely, second-coming end times obsessives does not compensate for the loss of scientific and paranormal-interested UFO-curious listeners, then Fort Rock's scenario makes sense.  I can sense the blood in the water when I hear desperation in Snoory's voice.  "...we're up to 542 stations, folks, the most ever... I love being recognize as George Noory from Coast to Coast. It feels so good."

Art Bell is listening to this stuff--and you can be sure he is drawn to listen, just like we are, for the gaffes!
His feet are up on the desk, he's smoking and laughing his ass off, punctuating the remarks with side comments like "You didn't just say that, you MORON!"  And he hears him say "Something's Going On (SGO)" or a variant and rolls his eyes.  The phone rings and it's Whitley.

Whitley: are you hearing this shit?

Art:       I had to turn it off--unbelievable.  It's getting worse.  This fucker can't carry a conversation with a  whole team helping him.  Honestly, Whit, it's painful to hear.

Whitley: Do you think it's syphilis?"

Hi folks,I'm new here(stating the obvious) but I've been following this thread since it's inception.

I started listening to Art in the spring of 1996 and followed C2C religiously. I am,like most of you, very disappointed in what has happened to the show. There are some people here who are very optimistic about Art returning to the air full  time. I wish I could share that outlook...unfortunately,I don't. My own optimism about a Art return faded in the summer of 2007, THAT retirement seemed permanent. The Art of 2008-2010, while always interesting, seemed somewhat disconnected to me. It's like he knows C2C has been tarnished by the descent into mainstream mediocrity with Nero Noory at the helm and seemed distressed by it.

Maybe Art will come back., I really wish he would, but I've gone through the Kubler-Ross stages of grief and accepted what we have. And that's basically, Ian OCCASIONALLY having a decent show and Knapp being generally solid...but the other 25 days of the month are a void.

MV/Liberace!

welcome to the forums, eddie.  an excellent intro post.

Quote from: b_dubb on March 07, 2011, 07:47:13 AMit's a little scary how much you guys know about Art

For some I'd be concerned - as for me, I spent about 5-7 minutes gathering the info, just to make a point.

Quote from: Weirdoradio on March 07, 2011, 10:28:58 AMAlso - Fork Rock, you've been pretty vocal in this thread and have endlessly speculated about Art's return. Do you have any tangible proof you can offer to us at this juncture? I'm willing to toe the line for only so long before I feel like it's a lot of hot air and I believe it's getting to that point now.

Well said, mate. Though I may occasionally fall victim, speculation is not a game I play - I like dealing with facts. For me, speculation is just wasted clock cycles, which I could put to much better use.

While I'll pop into this thread occasionally, not unlike my Great White shark metaphor, "looking for a meal," (per my lengthy post above), I almost always just go get a bowl of cheese puffs, a diet soda, and move on.

Endless mind-numbing speculation based on nothing but fantasy, whimsy, and rumors is just not part of my world. I can't imagine any joy being stuck in an infinite "DO" loop. Mind you, I enjoy fantasy and whimsy, but my ship generally lists toward those involving women, and not radio (or former) talk show hosts. :)

Quote from: guildnavigator on March 07, 2011, 03:18:21 PMI was thinking a similar thought as I updated myself on the last week of posts in this thread.

HAL, you more and more prove that you have chosen a fitting username with each post!

Don't take me too seriously - I sure don't. I do try to weave a wee bit of extremely desiccated humor in my posts, but they are somewhat hard to find, until one "gets" me. I do appreciate the kind words however!

Quote from: aldousburbank on March 07, 2011, 05:45:56 PMAs to the 4th (or 5th?) coming...
Worst case scenario, Ft.Rock's intel is accurate and Art will be hosting the Dec. 22nd 2012 Coast show, live, unscreened calls.  George would still do his prophesied, contractually obligated, neeto, Dec 21st show, but would scoot butt for Bell the next night.  This long-off scenario would keep fools like me ok with running c2c on the iron lung until then.  Radio suits know this.

Best case scenario, Art whips out a shortwave/streaming/podcast/satellite weekend show, or possibly 13 full moons a year.  That would be fine with me.

Your esoteric posts most often please, and I recognize your wry humor. As MV would say, "Post, and post often."

FortRock

I think we're at that place, and I feel it in my bones, Art Bell will make another Posting. PERHAPS EVEN HERE!

I've listen to him since the 90's. He was great until he retired 20 times. Then this nut Noorey took the helm and sailed the ship down boring creek into the Worthless River.

Since the passing of Ramona Art did a whooping 10 shows or so a year. He may have overcome acrimony in his past, but I'm not sure the nexus that has to the present. I believe that he did not even finish out his contractual amount of shows last year. Art may not like Snoory, but I'm not sure that he is so full of revenge as to start his own new program. He expended a great deal of energy in getting a HAM License in the Philippines for a reason. That reason may just be he is closer to 70 with a small child, so doing the HAM thing is nice and relaxing, and allows for maximum family fun time. Who knows, maybe Mr. Fort Rock is right, and Art will have a new program with a brand new Cusco intro song, and I hope so, but I'm not losing sleep waiting.

aldousburbank

Ok, completely off the wall allowed here?  (hearing no objections...)

What if?
What if Art Bell were contacted by significant agencies to be the conductive medium for "disclosure"?  Hang with me a second. Would Art not be the most generally trusted, capable, well composed, and safe personality for any such culturally shit-stirring revelation?  An initial announcement, followed by months of analysis and interviews, culminating with the ultimate Art interview with "ThE OtHeR"- huh?  Would this not make great radio?  Easily the most highly listened to broadcasts of all time?  Sponsors out the wazoo?

Ok, the only reason I wrote this is because while working, I was fantasizing about the most excellent means of getting Clear Channel Noory Bongo Boy immediately exiled to radio Siberia where he belongs, while simultaneously getting to hear Art's voice again.  The ET disclosure thing?  I guess that would be kind of interesting too.

Fly By Night,

You may wnat to check your GPS calibration.  I have sailed the boring creek into the Worthless River many a time, and Noory's show is way smellier than my recollections.  I would suspect you're off just a few degrees and he's entered boiling pits o' sewage reservoir via asspipe aqueduct.  Thanks for the tip captain nonetheless.  I think we may be able to locate the shipwreck now, although salvage may be fruitless.

b_dubb

do we need to have mock funeral services for C2C?

TO ALDOUSBURBANK:
Your not as far from potential reality as you think! Let me as three questions which will explore this point! First, which Presidential Candidate did Art support in 2008? What is this politician from Chicago's popularity status NOW? When did Art leave Coast To Coast AM, was it near the revealing of the popularity status of this Chicago politician? What could this politician do to change the popularity status quo? Who would be willing to help him? And one further question, ok? Does George Noory's constant referal to the citizenship status of this Chicago politician have anything to do with the departure of Art Bell from Coast?

Fly By Night

I found the shipwreck Noory. All I needed to do is follow the crossed eyed bucked tooth school of fish that were following the ship into the sea of mediocrity.

As for Art being the voice of discosure and the advocate of aliens, I like it.
I always thought it would be great if Art was the first public person to do a broadcast from Groom Lake.

Mr. Rock,

I think the answer to your questions is Yes We Can!  As I am not attached to any particular outcome, your posts and this thread and forum are much more lively and entertaining than any of the snooze's shows.  Let's make sure he stays on just for yuks sake, ok?  Maybe Art can have him read some copy each program, you know, and we can try to interpret what he means.

as i am a late late comer to Coast/Art Bell ... i don't have the volume of background information that some of you seem to have amassed.  thanks for sharing btw.  i'd be surprised if Art was pro-Obama given he has some military background but the guy is pretty suigeneris so i can see him following his gut.  i have listened to the classic C2C shows and you can tell there's a shift from the 9/11 to present day.  i think damn near everyone had a sea change somewhere  within that time frame.  at some point i think a lot of the people who voted for Bush jr reached a point where they hit a wall and said ... OMFG what have i been thinking?!!!

Does anyone know why Art would not start his own new show on a new network?  He just cant retire and I think he was runout his own creation. He would be successful I think.

FortRock

I've been discussing tonight my on-line conversation with ALDOUSBURBANK with my Portland/KEX source, and we came to a very interesting conclusion that shocked both of us! The reason Art Bell endorsed Obama in 2008 was the Military Generals/Admirals Committee that was brought togather by sort of a Bell hero, General Colin Powell. BUT Powell did not act as Chair of this Committee, it was the direct Chain of Command General in the Air Force for Sgt. Art Bell in the 1960's, General Merrill McPeak! The station (KEX) did a news story on now retired USAF Chief Of Staff, General McPeak and his support for Obama in 2008 in his Grants Pass, Oregon home! Just leaving McPeak's home when the KEX reporter arrived was a neighbor of the General's from just a few doors down. That guest was Art Bell's chosen Producer and Co-Creator of Coast, Alan Corbeth! There's something brewing very deep, and very disclosure oriented here! Art will return to the air this year to prepare for the desruction of George Noory and the Republicans using disclosure as a weapon in the 2012 Presidential Elections! Something is seriously cooking under the surface!

...and the Art Bell Quits Coast thread gets a life-saving infusion of platelets from its personal physician, Dr. Fort Rock.  First off, thank you for keeping this thread going, against all odds.  It is my (our) fully-intentioned group will which zooms through space to the nanospaces in station managers' heads and all other sentient radio management (albeit could be small group) to allow these "specials" to occur.

It's one thing to retire to (as one poster put it) dandle your grandchildren on your knee.  We all wish Art well and if that's his pleasure, well shut us up.  HOWEVER, it's one thing to retire and it's another to see a droopy-eyed, toupee-wearing pseudo radio host make a mockery of the show you and your dead wife sacrificed most of their marriage to make lively, sharp and incisive.  And with the little one going to school, well, why not dab the deep voice in the water a little?  He can run the show AND do all the tech work while incompetent ass here needs awhole team and STILL can't get it right.

Shazam!  You ought to email that to Art.  It has gotten to the point where George seems to be hiking his leg on the show out of some kind of psycho spite.  Or trying.  He reminds me of a dog I once had who went outside during a hurricane and hiked his leg against the wind.

It's been mentioned here that Art's agreement with the network may keep him off the air for a spell.  Even local television reporters here have to wait three to six months before they can show their face on a competing station.  Time for Art to give us another peep, because we're all invested in the show too.

And now, everybody sing along with Mitch Mops......

"And George Noory said,
"I am the master race
"And I said, 'Nein,Nein,
" 'You are the mastubate' "

Questore

Hello, I just registered now so I could post a comment. I read all the posts on Art quitting Coast to Coast. This is how long I have listened to Art - I used to live in Anchorage, Alaska and listened to Art Bell on KENI(he worked there) I think it was in the late 70's. I continued to listen to my Mentor Art until the end in 2010.
Anyway I am a student of the Paranormal. I read almost everything on Science, S. Fiction, Paranormal,
Real Life Bizarre (landing on the Hudson etc.) and many other interesting topics like a lot of you guys and girls.
Anyway, back to the subject at hand: Art we need you - We call your name 'Art Bell where art though?' I have a wonderful idea for you. How about starting a new show with your fans as hosts. A new fan every week selected by this site and the other major sites as well as yourself with Art Bell as producer or moderator. We could do this online or on short wave or regular radio maybe even satellite? I would be willing to cover my costs as a host as all the other 100's of hosts would have to as well. Maybe to fly to a certain location or  radio station etc. I want to help let's all make a difference instead of just complaining about Noory etc. Sincerely, Mike Murphy (aka Questore)

I think that this is quite a stretch. Art may have been bamboozled by Obama's elegant campaign style. The fact is that Art has always been an independent. I really don't think that Obama would have Art's support in light of his record during the last two years.

FortRock

Your right I THINK! BUT we had to explore the logical extent of Aldousburbank's thought process, to see where that left us!! BUT where did it leave us? With a conversation that brought into close companionship three independent units of society into potientially ONE:

Firstly, the Generals/Admirals Committee in favor of Obama, whether or not they would support him today.

Secondly, The Chair of that Committee, former USAF Chief Of Staff Merrill McPeak, who when he was a Brigader General, was the DIRECT line General of Sgt. Art Bell. AND who seems to have a more than neighborly relationship with Art Bell's Producer/Co-Creator Alan Corbeth.

Thirdly, Alan Corbeth, who retired from Premire Radio and Coast just 6 months before Art Bell did, and has been out of communication to all fans of Coast/Art Bell!

Conclusion, we need to watch like a hawk this unusual combo, there seems to be something very subrosa and scary for George Noory's future! One further extension of all of this is Art Bell's rise to prominence in the format of show he did/does came around 1992, AT THE SAME TIME General Merrill McPeak was serving as Air Force Chief Of Staff!

onan

Obama and Bell are not even in the same equation.

And not to dismiss those that think differently, Art has in past shows shown contempt and support for other serving presidents both Clinton and Bush come to mind.

I would contend that most of the listening audience of Art's were probably not ones that made a strong effort to get to the voting booth. Then again like that is my opinion backed by... well my opinion... and that makes it so truthy I can't measure it.

Eddie Coyle

Being an eternal pessimist, I believe both Obama and Noory will still be in their current positions in 2013. Art in 2013? Now that's a hell of a question...but my instincts tell me it won't be high profile.

FortRock

What I'm seeing is a scenario in which in reality Obama has no meaning anymore, just like all the President's before him. What we're seeing is the decline of the government's ability to control disclosure. I'm not here in this argument to play the Obama Card, the card that IS being played is the General Merrill McPeak Card! Let's look at Art Bell's best friend Whitley Strieber's family history. His family was deeply in the power structures of Air Force Command. Then looking at the rise of Art Bell himself, and the fact that General McPeak may have been involved in that rise. Whitley's family was well involved in the whole Roswell thing. We seem to have an Alternate National Security State/Structure which seems to have General McPeak as it's most visible leader. A Structure that no longer respects the authority of traditional government to restrict disclosure! Who is this Structure's most trusted Spokesman? ART BELL! This group will make it's move towards Summer, and the 2012 Election, and the power weakness it brings on. Remember Art has always said that "politics is no longer relevant to him anymore". It is the operators of politics that are not relevant! I think this may be a huge part of the Maya 2012 thing, the loss of those who restrict the teaching, and the return of the teachers with assistance of General McPeak's ANSS! A group which may be helping the Teachers!
