What I'm seeing is a scenario in which in reality Obama has no meaning anymore, just like all the President's before him. What we're seeing is the decline of the government's ability to control disclosure. I'm not here in this argument to play the Obama Card, the card that IS being played is the General Merrill McPeak Card! Let's look at Art Bell's best friend Whitley Strieber's family history. His family was deeply in the power structures of Air Force Command. Then looking at the rise of Art Bell himself, and the fact that General McPeak may have been involved in that rise. Whitley's family was well involved in the whole Roswell thing. We seem to have an Alternate National Security State/Structure which seems to have General McPeak as it's most visible leader. A Structure that no longer respects the authority of traditional government to restrict disclosure! Who is this Structure's most trusted Spokesman? ART BELL! This group will make it's move towards Summer, and the 2012 Election, and the power weakness it brings on. Remember Art has always said that "politics is no longer relevant to him anymore". It is the operators of politics that are not relevant! I think this may be a huge part of the Maya 2012 thing, the loss of those who restrict the teaching, and the return of the teachers with assistance of General McPeak's ANSS! A group which may be helping the Teachers!

And THIS is where Rod Sterling walks on stage and says, "In an alternate universe, anything is possible...maybe even probable, indistinguishable from our dimension except for one tiny clue:  the N in the above acronym...maybe you caught it, maybe you didn't.  Most likely, you walked right by like most folks, thinking about flowers for the wife, or that funny noise under the hood of the car.  You didn't notice that you had entered...The Twilight Zone!

Love ya Fort Rock--you are my paranormal hit of the day.

Thank you Ms. Anagrammy, I'm just delivering the hope that will come true soon, of deliverance from the horror of the Noorymonster. Art is in Manila, he shall return like MacCarther, rising from the transformers to the finals, to the tower of a regional flamethrower! Belief of Art's deliverance will set us free of our fears in the night. I have written of The Nitecaps and the departure of Herb Jepko, and the 10 years of darkness until the arrival of Art Bell. I know the pain in the heart of all, the darkness of spirit that needs lifting, I'm acting in my Nitecaps best for all to read! We had/have a pledge in Nitecaps which can help all of us until Art breaks the static once again. Here is that pledge:

THE NITECAPS CREED:

I AM A NITECAP;

I believe in the Nitecap Movement as a great vehicle to make the sentiment of "the brotherhood of man" among all nations, creeds, races a fact...not merely a saying.

I believe it is my obligation as a Nitecap not to carp or criticize, and to support my fellow Nitecaps to that end.

I hereby pledge myself to the building of Nitecaps International Association (NIA), it's founder Herb Jepko, this nitestand, and every sincere Nitecap.

I will seek and exhault the good I find in every person and seek to overlook there errors and weaknesses, just as I trust others will accept me with my strengths and weaknesses.

I will do all in my power to help build the Nitecaps Organization, and to carry out all it's projects designed to lend friendship, comfort and pleasure all persons, particularly the ill, aged, and unfortunate.

This Coast Gab family IS my Nitestand, my only Nitestand, until the greater vehicle that Art Bell is bringing back into fruition fires the airwaves!

Will I have to wear a hat shaped like an inverted cocktail glass if I become a Nitecap?  Will I get to be in parades riding my tricycle?  And...and...is there a secret handshake and a passphrase so that other Nitecaps will know I'm a member of the Siblinghood?

"Midnight in the Desert" -- If this song doesn't capture the mystique of the real C2C, I surely don't know what does.  I'd like to pipe it into Noory's head in an endless loop.  ;)

Hey Fort Rock, has it occurred to you that perhaps Art simply weighed the candidates, endorsed the one that appealed to him the most, and voted his conscience? Considering the amount of shit he took for it from listeners, I think if there was some grand conspiracy behind his selection, that would have come out by now.

Seriously...dude...your posts usually bring a smile. Your passion is obvious and your keeping this thread alive is great in its way, and I really admire the optimism that's obviously fuelling your increasingly creative speculations. But seriously...can you share some of whatever it is that you're smoking? I think a bunch of us would really appreciate it...it'd certainly be better than listening to the G-Man.

Anagrammy, haven't gotten round to drafting that open letter yet. Lots of stuff going on here. If you want a crack at it without having to wait for me, go for it--pm it to me and I'll send you my direct email address.

Peace y'all.

I agree Art has class and style - and I also voted for Obama and will again unless somebody much better shows up and I mean Republican or Democrat. If a real person who has leadership and karma as well as great ideas shows up on the home plate of life I will vote for him or her (not Sarah Palin though she can't even run a state). So anyway back to the topic at hand. Art we are calling your name - save us from the mindless zombies who are ruining our favorite nighttime talk show.

I was debating where to post this seeing as it could fit in almost any thread on this site but since it was inspired by the mention of the "Nitecaps" in this thread yesterday... I'll do it here.

Yesterday I listened to the recent Rollye James tribute to the Nitecaps radio show. On the show, a guy called in and asked Rollye about her departure from coast to coast. I've attached an audio clip, nothing really new here but interesting none the less.

thanks awguy.  great clip.  confirms most if not all our suspicions

I confess to hitting the wall last nite - yup, just mite have had my fill.  Happened after 2 a.m., while listening to the breaking news from Japan.  "I wonder" I found myself wondering " just how long we can skate thru all this without Darth Noory  going over to the Shill side'?"

No sooner had I finished that pondering than BING!!!  - the Noorstor had found himself a phonebooth and out he emerged,  ready to oust the last remnants of Jim McKay from the Munich Olympics.  There would be no noble path,  no high road taken tonite.  Not while there were Drachmas left on the table, not while there were still Yen in play.
And so he was off, selling survival gear while mis-paraphrasing Revelations , pawning  skids of soup to rechargeable knee pads to partial timeshares in an emerging Florida plastics recycling aquarium dealership.

Less than a half an hour -- it was under 30 minutes, that was as long as he could tow the line without caving.

And so, with less than 30 miniutes on the meter,  he was back in The Hunt, packing Alien DNA and shrill-ly shilling for the madding crowd --- while thousands floated for survival, the vast number of them never knowing their Bell from their Noory, because . . . . .

. . . .  Only the Shadow knows ..... and that's about all I can stomach, it's all nite Jazz from

The most impressive things about this clip, to me, is that Rollye is both honest and understated.  No drama - mostly  facts with a matter-of-fact mention of applicable emotion and well informed opinion.

THAT is how you sound credible.

FortRock

And why I think Rollye James should have gotten the Coast assignment! When I think about Art Bell, Herb Jepko, or Rollye James I think of the word BROADCASTER!!! Do I, any of you think the same about George Noory, well I think I'm preaching to the choir today!

Camper

That Was an interesting audio clip. I like Rollye James, she knows a helluva lot about radio.

There was a time when Art vouched for all the products he personally endorsed. He said he tried all of them and wouldn't endorse anything he didn't like. I even remember him getting angry when a caller questioned him on that.

lasertron

you go rollye...take george to school. clips like that remind me why I fell in love with radio. alas.

Thanks for the clip, Awguy.  One more link in the chain of reasons why Snoory just makes me ill.

I confess to listening to C2C again tonight, and if Noory wasn't "on" something, then I'm very wrong. My mental image was of him swinging from a chandelier. Or maybe he was just that high over the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear leak he kept returning to.  All that confirms how righteous he is as he keeps crowing, "The sky is falling, the sky is falling!"   :-\

Digitech

An interesting listen. Rollye was a fill in host in 2008 or 2007, then briefly returned in 2010, correct?  Floating around on one of these threads is an email which Rollye wrote, going into a lot of detail about the C2C situation.

I've never heard her program, but I do remember when she was on C2C a few times. She seemed to be a good host, but I felt that the topics chosen were boring.

She says that the reason she left the show in 2008 was because of endorsements. What is she talking about when she refers to the 'psychic pill' endorsement? She also mentions 'HGH', which I remember Art Bell doing advertisements for back in the day.

Then, she says the reason she left in 2010 was because of feeling embarassed about the show itself.

OK- here's my first draft of a letter to Art. Comments, please.

Dear Art,

I'm Anagrammy, a poster from CoastGab, which is a forum of your hardcore fans. The difference between us and Coast-to-Coast fans is that we have difficulty accepting hot air after years of enjoying a well-prepared professional radio host.

We wish the new Coast audience well, they need and appreciate the hand-holding and don't seem to notice the lack of content, the self-glorification or the meaningless questions.  We were going to just send you a virtual watch for your retirement gift along with our best wishes, but the continued deterioration of the program you created, and world events, embolden us to contact you personally with our thoughts.

The current Coast program bills itself as "entertainment" rather than "educational."  Legal reasons aside, it is now a parade of freaky themes, an exposition of weird news and oddball theories offered without a semblance of critical examination.  No probing, no evaluation or comparison with previous guests offering contradictory theories.  No placement of the guest's experience in the continuum of similar visitations, apparitions, or experiences.  The interviewer representing "everyman" in the person of George Noory is a cultural illiterate buffoon, making comments and asking questions which lead to awkward silences because they are ridiculous.  Like, "Are we part of the universe, then?"  Don't get me started....

The recent tsunami event propels us to reach beyond your contractual silence to the Art we know is still watching world events unfold.  You know that Edgar Cayce predicted Japan would be submerged.  It is obvious that the geological changes you discussed on countless programs are taking place NOW.  The Philippines are one of the most dangerous places to be; the most recent earthquake expert said they will completely sink.  So instead of sending you a virtual watch for your retirement, we are sending a plea for your return North America, which is geologically much more stable.

We also plead for your return to radio as we face 2012 without a trusted representative to review the scientists and the psychics, the dreamers and the shakers and make some cogent comments, a historical reference.  Something more relevant than "I've been to Cleveland."  For the love of god, Art, please return to radio in some form acceptable to you and your family.  The niche you left is still empty and we get nothing but hot air from the media AND government.  WE ARE SICK OF IT and having it on late night is more than we can bear.

You know, it's one thing to retire once or twice, take some glory laps and let the show take it's own direction. Therein lies the problem --Coast to Coast AM now wants to be Ripley's Believe It or Not. George Noory has devolved to a self-promoting shill, a carnival barker (Get ready for the fat lady) with a vest lined with efood packets and gold coins. How you can see the same corporate forces which are destroying our country make a mockery of the show that you and Ramona sacrificed so much to develop?

On behalf of all of us, thank you for bringing us so many great programs--we talk about them still and welcome you to reminisce with us anytime at CoastGab, where we creatures of the night hang out in glorious anonymity.  Or you can answer me one velvet morning at this email and I will use whatever level of discretion you request in sharing with the other CoastGab members.

Here's to iconic bumper music--and Deflation to the Hot Air!

I think the letter is pretty good, but I'd reconsider this paragraph.  It sounds like we are being a wee bit selfish and telling him what to do, as far as relocation.  I don't think it serves to educate any (and he actually may be offended that we assumed he couldn't put two and two together and conclude that the Phillipines are in a dangerous position).  Otherwise - well-constructed letter... I just don't know how he's going to take it.

Great letter, but I would think about modifying this part. Otherwise no complaints!

Good point--don't want to do any Noory-style patronizing!  I'm waiting to hear from Offline misssirveaux, aldousburbank, onan, EvB, etc.

I'm upset that our government is lying through its teeth about all the "missing" money.  I'm meditating, I'm walking, and I am still smoking angry.  Who took our 18 Trillion dollars?  We're through--we are being looted and raped.  Bernie Madoff was right:  our entire system IS a ponzi scheme.  I feel like I've been spun around and around until I throw up.  It's a hall of mirrors and I'm very confused.  Sorry to be a buzzkill, as Onan says.

Please excuse me if this has been answered, I tried looking at several threads on here but couldn't find a solid answer. All I want to know if Art has made any announcement or even has said anything since that last show of Ghost to Ghost? I know he had the webcam pic up about blowing hot air etc. but besides that has he even been heard from?

anagrammy: when I first glanced at your letter I cringed at its length, but once I started the first paragraph I couldn't stop reading. that is a good letter.
