Any topic that makes you immediately turn off the show?

It could have been worse for her. He might have touched her with his mustasche.

I heard that too and wondered why Noory wasn't being charged with interfering with a flight attendant.

As if we'd all be so lucky ...

Did anyone hear the story he told last night about trying to move a flight attendant out of the way so that he could get past?  He said he put his hand on her shoulder "just like anyone would" as a signal that he wanted to get past.  He was outraged describing how she apparently "went off" on him, telling him not to touch her.  He couldn't understand why she didn't "get" his hand on her shoulder as a signal to move or why SHE didn't apologize to HIM.

I didn't get why he couldn't have simply said, "Excuse me, may I get past you?" without touching her.  I'd have been creeped out if Noory touched me, too.

I can't believe somebody actually said they like the numbers lady.

I can't believe somebody actually said they like the numbers lady.

Wasn't me.

But I will say this: when the Luck Lady was on the other night, I thought, "Good God, please switch her out for the Numbers Lady and I'll never complain about her again."

This is what it has come to.....truly sad.

First time poster, though I've lurked around for a while.  Since my interest in the show as of late has been waning, I figured it was time to register once I found this thread.

In some regards, I do think that the topic is the problem.  Health stuff, politics, the climate, the environment . . . who cares.  Like some previous posters have said, that's not why I listen to Coast to Coast.

But for the more speculative topics--the reason I DO listen to Coast to Coast--it all comes down to credibility.  The bottom line is that I need to have a reason to believe the guest.  Who are they?  Are they a credentialed scientist or academician?  Are they a legitimate journalist?  Or are they merely some random person with an extraordinary claim?

The big problem with the latter is that it's simply impossible to validate the truth of what they say.  This does not mean they're lying.  Just because someone sounds like a hoaxer/mentally unbalanced person because their claim is so ridiculous does not mean that it's so.  I mean, if someone says they are channeling aliens from Zeta Reticuli or spirits from the 7th dimension, then hell, maybe they are.  But unless these aliens or spirits give information that can be validated that would otherwise be impossible to know then there is just no way to know the person making the claim is legit, and unfortunately this never happens.

There are plenty of topics that would be quite interesting to me as long as the guests are legit and the topics are handled the right way.  For UFO topics, I prefer that the host is George Knapp, because he knows what's up and will handle the guests appropriately, and he usually only has guests that have a story that seems believable.  I also listen to just about anything with Ian--who I think is great, even though he seems to have some haters on here--because he is not shy about challenging his guests and he also covers topics that are interesting to me.  I've read a lot of responses that they turn the dial when religion comes up, but I'm fine as long as the guest is credible and it's handled well.

Beyond that, it's just real hit and miss . . . and unfortunately probably more misses than hits.

If it's a show about channeling I pretty much never listen, because there is no way to validate their claims unless they channel something unknowable--like that an unlikely event is going to occur on a certain date at a certain time--and then this proves to be true.  But that never happens.

Remote viewing can be interesting as long as the guest isn't Ed Dames, but the subject has lost a lot of its luster to me now that it's clear that even if remote viewers really do have a psychic ability, it's not something that can be harnessed and used with any degree of reliability.

Ghosts shows can be interesting, depending on the guest.  If it's a haunted history show I might listen in.

Run o' the mill psychics, astrologers, and the Numbers Lady are no goes.  Who cares.  Not because the topic could not be interesting, but because the content of the Coast shows is not interesting.  I've heard a lot of stories of astrology being used in interesting ways, but on Coast it's usually just fools making claims that are too vague and general, or that are too wild and of course don't come true.

Anything to do with demons is usually a pass for me.  I've had it with the self-appointed "demonologists" who supposedly have all this information about this race of otherworldly creatures.  How do you know this?  Oh wait, that's right, you really don't.

EVP can be cool, but my interest in the subject has waned.  We need to figure out how to establish true, high-quality back and forth conversation.  Until then, I have better things to do than try to figure out if those are actually words, where they came from, and what they mean.

Reincarnation can be cool as long as either a) the guest is a researcher connected to Ian Stevenson, or b) the person is a credentialed therapist who uses past-life regression therapy.

Mediumship used to be a big one to me, but these days, how can you tell who's legit?  It seems to me that you just can't.  James Van Praagh and Sylvia Browne are instant channel changers for me.

NDEs can be good, depending on various factors.  I like to hear medical professionals' take on the subject.

The Crypto stuff is hit and miss.  It's not a big subject for me.  I will listen to it, but it doesn't get me pumped or anything.

I do like a lot of the random one-off stuff, like the rock star curse shows, the television stuff where they have on producers/writers/directors etc, or whatever else that may be interesting and different from what's usually done.

All in all, I miss really enjoying C2C.  I used to listen to just about every episode and enjoyed it about 90% of the time.  Now a week or more can go by before something pops up that I actually care about.

Thankfully there's The Paracast, but it is almost exclusively UFOs and it's only once a week.  It would be nice if they would branch out more and they also need to understand that not every show on the "supernatural" has to feature Rosemary Ellen Guiley.

Anyway, that's my $.02. . .

Whoa! If I had to validate whether a guest is credible, I would never have listened at all. I know I'm going to alienate  ;D some here , but Coast to Coast is the Professional Wrestling of radio. It's neither credible and is completely incredible. When I listened, it was for entertainment reasons only.

The topics over the past few years have all become so based in NEW AGE, I can't stand to listen to one minute. I do listen occasionally to George Knapp. His shows about UFO's are so interesting, it makes me almost want to believe they are real.

That reminds me of a friend of mine who occasionally listens to the show . . . he listens purely for entertainment value.  "As for actually considering that it could be true?  No, I don't do that," he says.

Personally, I do think that the guests run the gamut of the very credible to the wildly incredible.

If you listen to Coast, then I would think that you at least leave open the possibility that aliens might be visiting us, that ghosts could really haunt the world, that we may actually go onto something when we die.  And if it's the case that these things are possible, then I would think that some researchers will have something that's actually worthwhile to say on the subject.

So for me, it's about separating the chaff from the wheat.

Sylvia Browne. I cannot stand to listen to even old Art shows with her.

It is getting harder for me to listen to a long show with that science fiction adviser Richard Hogland

Nine times out of ten, I turn off the health shows.  I do not tune in to Coast to hear about turmeric, herbs, cancer treatment, etc.  I can find this just about anywhere else.  My favorite shows are the ones that make it hard for me to sleep, and those rarely happen anymore (especially since I only listen a couple of times a month or less now).

i can't handle listening to anything where george noory is hosting.  i recently contemplated getting a streamlink membership but knew i wouldn't listen to anything but Ian and Knapp shows.  what is that ... 3 shows a month?  3 shows a month for 6 months ... at $30?  that's $2/show.  no way can i justify that

"Dr." Robin Falkov, homeopathy segments (turmeric, colloidal silver, etc.) and the German guy with the Anglicized name who operates a pay site touting a cure for cancer.  If I wanted an infomercial, I'd turn on the television.  Hoagland's grandiose ramblings have actually grown on me and I enjoy the (dare I say) witty banter between he and Snoory.  Doug Dietrich literally makes me nervous but is SO OUT THERE, it's hard not to listen.

About Hoagland...you can't fake enthusiasm, and he has that no question. He may be 99.98% full of shit but at least he is entertaining. Unlike noory.

As soon as I hear the Numbers Lady, or numerology I turn off. Lately as the show has transitioned into a religious show I turn off any religious based host within a few minutes if it isn't interesting. In the last few weeks I've pretty much turned off any religious show within minutes if it wasn't hosted by Ian because they are uniformly bad. The weather patterns topics generally do it to me too, but they aren't on too often. The show has been talking about economics lately, and the lack of knowledge is astounding to me, but I do listen depending on the guest--that one is closer to 50/50.

Stupid guests thinking they are vampires.
One of the worst shows ever, well below local pubic access standards.  Yawn... Why is George hosting a national radio program?  Love ya Lisa and Tommy!  ;)

ziznak

Honestly anybody that starts to talk about angels or beneficent spirits makes me kinda tune out.  There's definitely something to a lot of whats said on C2C but sometimes... yeah.... I'm like turning the show off.   Normally though I dont miss a show.

AlaskaGuy

Numerology, Biblical "end times" garbage.  There are other times when I can't get past more than the first few minutes of a particular topic/guest, but I don't even bother 'trying' when it's either of the two I've mentioned.

AlaskaGuy

Oh. And anything hosted by Whitley Streiber.  Horsesh*t can be entertaining, but I start to get resentful when I suspect someone is making money off of it (yes, I know--"How arbitrarily we draw those lines!").

Favorite-Ever:  The guy who claims he is/was a horse trapped in a man's body.  The laughing-so-hard-that-you-almost-pass-out is great for clearing one's lungs...Can't recall his name at the moment, but that is p-u-r-e spellbinding/can't-stop-listening OMG! g-o-l-d.

The dude's name is Jason.  Every time he was on, I said 'horse hockey' and hit the off button..

Appears Punnett is responsible for festering these perpetual turds for topics, including Jason "The Horse" and the Jordan codices.  If I hear Snorry ask another guest, "Is it just me or are people acting crazy/strange?", I'm going to quit C2C all together.  Surely to God he isn't going to keep this up all the way until December 22nd.  Get Lex to put up another freakin' Insta-Poll and put this one out of its misery.   >:(

For me it is the Jesus loin cloth show or the crystal skull shows. Dead beat shows that have been told too often. George Snorery loves these shoes. I bet John B Smells does too.

Too funny. The Jason the horse show was weird enuf to listen to the first time around, however when Ian brought him back for a second go around I couldn't listen to it. Grossed me out.

And the people acting strange comment is just plain stupid already. When he says that I know he has run out of questions, or does not understand the topic, or has fallen asleep. That's when I turn off the radio.

I turn off CC when it ='s: Ghosts, UFO's, NDEs, Psychics, Shadow People, Demons, Angels, Bible, Chemtrails, Remote Viewing, Serial Killers, Cops, Musicians, New Age Health/Physics/Religion, Anything "What the Bleep Do We Know", or "The Secret" Derived, Alien Abductions, Cancer Treatments, Health Related, Mayan Prophecy, and probably many many + more.
I love how some and called "credible" when the field of their study isn't even credible.
