I turn off CC when it ='s: Ghosts, UFO's, NDEs, Psychics, Shadow People, Demons, Angels, Bible, Chemtrails, Remote Viewing, Serial Killers, Cops, Musicians, New Age Health/Physics/Religion, Anything "What the Bleep Do We Know", or "The Secret" Derived, Alien Abductions, Cancer Treatments, Health Related, Mayan Prophecy, and probably many many + more.
I love how some and called "credible" when the field of their study isn't even credible.
Maybe we should just ask ourselves "when do we actually listen to C2C?"

Uh, I think you have C2C and PBS confused. It's not a news or science show. You do know that you can't rely on any purported fact that you hear on C2C, don't you?

...Teapot Dome scandal...

Oh sweet mother.  The random Teapot Dome Scandal reference had me in pains.  I'm not entirely sure why. Even amongst randomness is was random.

I'm still hurting from trying not to laugh out loud.

While I agree with many of the things on this list, I have to ask, out of wild curiosity... what exactly do you listen for?

That reminds me of a friend of mine who occasionally listens to the show . . . he listens purely for entertainment value.  "As for actually considering that it could be true?  No, I don't do that," he says.

Personally, I do think that the guests run the gamut of the very credible to the wildly incredible.

If you listen to Coast, then I would think that you at least leave open the possibility that aliens might be visiting us, that ghosts could really haunt the world, that we may actually go onto something when we die.  And if it's the case that these things are possible, then I would think that some researchers will have something that's actually worthwhile to say on the subject.

So for me, it's about separating the chaff from the wheat.

Actually nothing has done more to make me think UFOs don't exist, or aren't visiting earth than Noory as the host of C2C. I used to think it was probably likely, but now I would lean towards about 90% not believing in it.

I just hear how fucking stupid Noory & his guests are, and how wrong they are in almost any subject that I have even an elementary understanding of, and think there is no way they cracked UFOs. Thanks Noory.

Also, 2 people asked what we actually listen for. I can't even say I listen anymore. In the last 6 months I bet I've listened less than an hour and a half total, and I used to listen to the whole show almost every night. Most of the time when I do turn it on dickhead Noory is talking about Angels, abiotic oil theory, impending hyperinflation, or how he now accepts that the earth is warming, but has always believed it is cyclical and I just turn it off within 30 seconds.

What makes me immediately turn off C2C?

1) Numbers lady
2) Major Fraud Dames
3) Alex Jones

Could go either way: Richard Hoaxland

Starbreaker

I'm absolutely sick of these weather shows or Whitley Streiber talking about his implant. Make it stop!

I feel the same way about those guests.  I also want to add John Gray, Stephen Quayle, Marshall Masters, and Douglas Dietrich.

As a topic of discussion, I'd mention Ian Punnett's D.B. Cooper obsession (Who really cares about D.B. Cooper in 2012?) and Planet X (Nibiru), the celestial object that's supposedly and always on the way to Earth for years now but never quite makes its destination here (Someone should provide it with a solar system GPS tool.).

I'd also throw in the "doom and gloom" and End Times scenarios for the alleged 2012 end of the Mayan calendar.  That topic has been beaten more times than it would take to beat a dead horse and make it into glue.   For heaven's sake, we're almost right smack into the middle of 2012; how much worse can the end of the world be, compared to the present mess and crap the world's already in?  I'm ready for a system reboot.   8)

I want to also include Christian fundamentalist C2C guests and their literal and/or personal theological interpretations of the Bible, particularly with respect to prophecies, fundamentalist Bible teachings, and pseudo-spirituality.  There's a lot of their kind of talk going around the air waves already, outside of the C2C show.  Enough!

Ruteger

1) dICK Hoagland

2) Roswell (Enuff already! Stop beating a dead horse!)

3) Niburu

EvB

It's been well over a year since i listened to any c2c - new or vintage.  But I do have a copy of the 6/10 Ian show I'll boot up soon - the topic looked interesting.

Open lines and Linda Moulton "Hoe" as well as some female talk hosts annoy me and turn off the show. Wish that Art would come back or the other guy John B Wells would return. Both are better than George "Sushi boy" Noori who sucks. Still its better than that dumb jackass show Red Eye Radio.

John Smith

Alex Jones and any "fear based" or paranoid guests.

Morgus

Always turn off the radio with the lose weight infomercial guests like in the first hour tonight on c2c.
Noory is going to have those infomercials every Thursday night apparently for the coming weeks.

Guarantee you there's a financial end for George in that.

I tune out anytime I hear anything about spiritual healing, the bible, numerology, and last but not least, LMH.  It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't sound like she was reading from a script the entire time.

robomatic

C2C Is a unique show that i sample almost every night. Immediate turn offs:

Anyone explaining how aliens / technology/ rough times are all related to New Testament and we should all get together in Christ and all our problems will either be solved, explained, or maybe not.
Voice of Steve Quayle saying anything. Anything.
    Richard C Hoaglun promising anything.
    Ed Dames weaseling or preening.
    EVP

Consider that C2C is a special place in our schedules where pretty much anbody can get a 2 to 4 hour window to say pretty much anything. All they really have to be is interesting.
The above items have been run far along given tracks and already have plenty of air time behind them. They are either idiotic or played out or both.

To save them you could have competitive idiots doing different numerology on the same subjects, different bible thumpers doing bible codes or predictions on each-other's work live, two remote viewers reporting on viewing the same thing and especially two experts with different interpretations of the same EVPs for our listening pleasure.

Ipokesmot

Linda Moulton Howe.. yikes. (Linda Moulten Cow) Is she still on the show?  I haven't listened in years.
She's one of the few things I couldn't stand about the old Art Bell shows.  "Oh HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ARRRRTTT, lets listen to a tape.."  ::)
That and the numbers lady, quacks.

Grimace

Adding the mentally deranged and overall blind to the world bible-schmuck Stan Johnson to my personal list. God (pun intended), chugging rot-guy whiskey while huffing bleach at high altitude would not kill as many brain cells as listening to that dweeb.

Designx

Stacey Cohen makes me turn off the show and that's right about the first commercial break - oh well!

The bible idiocy put me to the wall this past weekend. I have been listening since the 80's and I'm done.  Hate that new guy on the weekends (John?).  His underlying anger and bitterness is palatable.

Zircon

Any of those who do the Wiccan/witch craft, Mother Goddess Earth nonsense. Also that fucking dentist (Goldberg or something like that) who gave up his practice to talk New Age and sell seminars and books. Apparently he sucked as a dentist. These ass clowns who tell us the aliens have come here to show us how to save the earth and reach a higher level of consciousness. Ghost hunters and that unbelievably stupid shit called EVP. Anybody who advocates the legitimacy of remote viewing. Nibiru? What a joke. If there was a planet with a 3,600 year orbit, it would have been discovered long ago. Hell, we can find planets 100 light years away orbiting stars. If Nibiru was true then where is the record for its last appearance approx. 1,600 BC? Chinese records? India? Egypt? Nowhere to be found. It is bullshit. There is more but I am not going to write a novella.

Morgus

Thats pretty much all the regular c2c guests and subjects.
So in other words, always immediately turn off the show...  ;D

coaster

Last night I noticed coast2coast was going to interview a surfer. I quickly found something else to do. Surfing? That is so far from what coast is (or was) about.

Anytime I hear a guest mention sending people their "document package".

John Smith

Climate change, any guest who uses the bible to support their POV, End-times crap, Jerome Corsi.
Probably plenty more.

Oh! Also a regular caller I call Pepe. Pepe is a man who speaks with a slight Hispanic accent who manages to get-through and on the air an astonishing number of times. Often he will ramble on before asking a stupid question. Other times I have heard him get on the air and make bald-face lies or make incredible claims. You would think that the call-screeners would have him pegged by now.

Steven Greer, Steven Quayle, Jerome Corsi, Alex Bell. In fact, any and all mouth breathing, nostrils flaring fanatics, religious, political, pseudoscience or otherwise. Also, anyone who is an 'intuitive', 'visionary' or snake oil peddling cancer cure quack. I don't mind  Hoagland too much, because in his crazy pants looney kind of way, he makes me laugh.

Soooo you can only enjoy the show when Hoagie is on!

Rasputin

Steven Quayle, Alex Jones, the numbers lady, anything to do with angels, open lines with Noory, and that idiot Douglas Deitrich.
Anyone who believes Deitrich has a screw loose.

*LOL* He's so bad he's good, like a really, really bad grade B movie.

As for the rest, if their nostrils don't flare, and they have even a tenuous tie to reality, I might give them a chance. But, the pickin's slim.
