Now I say it is a song for anybody to has ever lost someone close to them. I plan on rerecording it soon. perhaps I will use a metronome and a better mic. :)

This is a song I wrote on the mandolin shortly after my Mothers passing.
It is me saying goodbye to here.

The timing is off and the sound is pretty bad but it wasn't a time to be playing with a metronome. :P

That was beautiful.  It sounded like there was ocean waves.  Was that the poor mic?  Cuz I really liked it.

What is it about the mandolin?

A truly wonderful way to honor your mother, widespread.
Please let me know where I can buy it once you record it.
Beautifully haunting and hauntingly beautiful.

Edit - Ack! Don't know why these won't embed. Anyway two tracks off a Doors covers album, "Stoned Immaculate".

This one some hippie reminded me of in the meet and greet thread.

The Knack's 'My Sharona' just came on the radio and I could not refrain from immediate dancing ala Winona Ryder in 'Reality Bites'

Sigh.
Could there have been any more perfect song?
So much regret as he ends it with his "precious"

BABY BLUE
Guess I got what I deserved
Kept you waiting there too long my love.
All that time without a word
Didn't know you'd think that I'd forget
Or I'd regret the special love I have for you -
My Baby Blue.

All the days became so long
Did you really think I'd do you wrong
Dixie When I let you go
Thought you'd realize that I would know.
I would show the special love I have for you -
I have for you.

What can I do what can I say -
Except that I want you by my side.
How can I show you show me the way
Don't you know the time I've tried.

Guess that's all I'd have to say
Except the feeling just grows stronger ev'ry day.
Just one thing before I go -
Take good care baby.
Let me know
Let it grow the special love you have for me.
My Dixie dear.

Their music selections have always been spot on. Here's another couple of gems they've used:

Was it Aldous Burbank?  I once saw him make a haiku using lyrics from "Texas Radio and The Big Beat" in the Haiku for Noory-san thread.  That takes talent...or a special kind of crazy.   :)

I had that very same clip on about a half hour ago! That song was also used to great effect on Miami Vice in '86.

I remember "If I Had A Rocket Launcher" being restricted to overnight play on MTV in the winter of 84-85. The "some son of a bitch would die" lyric almost getting an outright ban.

And a witless, unironic local DJ mispronouncing his name. Not for yuks, but out of cluelessness. He got the Bruce part right(it was '84..)

Oh yeah, it was a frequent play on late night HBO right after the Hitchhiker reruns.

Hell yes. Super-underrated.
