Lately I seem to be "jones'in" for a good old sci/fi series like Star Trek, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, you get it... Everything produced lately is coming up short for different reasons. Sure, there have sparks of genius like Farscape, Dr Who, and a few others, but most have fallen short. I am disappointed that most new shows, sci/fi and others, have felt the obligation to include every minority predilection just because.... If it's essential to the story or plot, fine, but to toss it in only to pacify the latest ribbon fad or protest group or just for controversy, shows poorly in the finished product. Don't get me wrong, I'm a live-and-let-live kinda dude, raised that way, but I will never support what is truly wrong, like rape, bestiality, child abuse, incest, and so on.. Just want sci/fi adventure with a good cast and a solid purpose.... and yup, I'm over 60...lol

You might like the two seasons of "Extant", and the futuristic "Revolution", which is about the aftermath of the world going dark.

I have not missed either one, and I liked them. What I miss is actually looking forward to the next episode of a show, like with Farscape. There is a level of creativity in the Star Trek shows and spinoffs that seems to be missing. If dementia sets in, I guess I could find my all time favorite episode and put it on a loop... problem solved...
