Not in the least. I wish more people thought like you instead of letting their brain-washing show itself when they say "I have to vote for one of the two that have a chance of winning. What those people don't realize is that if everyone voted for who they thought would best fill the position, the republicrats would be gone in a heartbeat.
It's brain washing plain and simple. I can't state that emphatically enough.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward the lesser-of-two-evils approach this time, my mind isn't totally made up.  I'm not in a swing state though, so I probably could afford to just go 3rd party yet again.

Oh I agree it was cringeworthy.  He should have said something like "Could you elaborate on the question" until it clicked.  Of course both the others have had lousy moments, but they get do-overs.  Anyway obviously he never had any real chance anway, but I'm just bummed we just get the same polarized positions ad nauseum without the general populace even thinking there might be an alternative way of looking at things.  The founders meant for us to discuss these things in public, not to have scripted corporate parties force us into no-win choices.

Agreed.  The other day I heard Stein discussing ranked choice voting, which I hadn't heard much about before, but it seems like it would give 3rd parties more of a chance.

Yeah I mean he should be better prepared for stuff like that, but it's just sad how a sound bite can destroy the guy's credibility.  Of course he doesn't have the massive clout and money behind him that either of the two main parties have, so it's easy for the media & pundits etc. to just write him off, whereas with the other two candidates, we just move on to the next campaign stop and it's all good.

fwiw I agree that one comment shouldn't necessarily sink a campaign, it's just that that one was particularly cringeworthy (like Sarah Palin level), and I voted for the guy.  Most people might view this as a waste of time, but nonetheless I think the upcoming debates should include the two main 3rd parties as well.

Historical events should never be closed for discussion.  What if archaeologists unearth some new discovery that contradicts a previously held belief about ancient Egypt, or the Neolithic revolution, etc.  At a certain point you have to stop otherwise you'll go mad questioning everything, but a little healthy questioning isn't bad.

Another thing that makes it fishy is that before the attacks, there was a group of highly influential people in the Bush administration apparently wishing for a "new Pearl Harbor" to forward their foreign policy plans.  This isn't a conspiracy theory, it is written in one of their own published documents.  It could just be a case of post hoc ergo propter hoc, but, like Roswells said, some things just don't seem to add up.

Contrary to what some might think, I'm not a wholesale pacifist.  My views on the topic are more similar to the Libertarian or "paleo"con stance, though with the realignment of the political landscape, such labels may become obsolete.  I don't think it takes a political wingnut to realize that our destabilization of the Middle East and North Africa, which both parties contributed to, was a disaster.  These perpetual Hawks are the kinds of people that brought us these failed policies, and with Hillary, want more of the same.  No thanks.

Idk about art schools specifically, I do know that at most universities, your average liberal arts, and even many social science degrees are about as useful as toilet paper in today's job market.  I had professors reassure me that my arts degree would be so in demand, and actually make me more money than non-arts majors, and being the gullible SJW college kid I was, I bought it.  Took me years of on-and-off unemployment and crap paying jobs to realize it was all a lie.  As far as I'm concerned, much of higher education is a scam.  Vocational degrees should not be looked down on, and instead of telling kids that they can be anything they want to be with their transintergender studies degree, how about pushing STEM degrees since many of those careers are so in-demand, that employers often have to look overseas for qualified employees?  /rant

136, I don't know how you think you have such a mastery of all things American when you don't even live here (maybe you visit often?), but to many of those of us who actually do live here, there has been an evident hijacking of the Democrat party by wolves in sheeps' clothing who are transforming the Democrats into this weird chimera of corporatism, censorship, interventionism abroad, and resurrecting McCarthyism to defend their candidate. I spent most of my youth on "the left," and still think some of their causes are noble, so I think I'm able to comment on this with some credibility.  I understand that my cynicism toward the democrats is easily interpreted as being pro-Trump, and, truth be told, I have considered voting for him, though am keeping my options open, and am more never Hillary than in favor of him.  I once supported Johnson, but he is pro-TPP and has really seemed to lose the plot since the last election.  The media being in bed with Hillary is not just bad for Trump supporters, it also affects third parties (see video clip 1 below).  The democrat party has been so thoroughly infiltrated, they need to be put in the dustbin of history by being voted out of office; hopefully to be replaced by actual honest liberals, like Green Party, or, God forbid, Peace & Freedom party, or even Libertarians, though I know many wouldn't consider them to be on the left.  Thankfully other people are waking up to this disturbing trend of what the democrats have become (clip 2).

Man ppl are going crazy.  Whacked out, as Noory says.  If the rumors are to be believed, there's something happening in a Charlottesville mall (power transformer?) a shooting in Chicago (surprise), a small plane down in Arizona, & this NY situation.  Not sure how much is just random Saturday night happenings, this doesn't really fit the pattern of past attacks.

No worries, in that case I retract my previous post.

Referring to Hillary Clinton as Sea Hag or, I presume, President Obama as 'the orangutan' doesn't help you cause in claiming you aren't deplorable.

Hah don't even go there.  Seriously, just, don't (clue I'm not white).  It only shows your ignorance.  I was referring to the deplorable man himself, but you just presumed because Obama was black it must be him, racist  :P

The person asked 'is it true that the Hillary started this' at the end of that segment, John somebody, is a journalist, and was not a Hillary Clinton campaign official as some people seem to believe.

Since he was not an insider means he does not have first hand information, so he needs evidence to back it up his 'yes it is true'.  He presented nothing in that segment.  You've got nothing.

I'm not going to defend birtherism, whether it was originated by Sea Hag or the orangutan's campaign, I even voted for Obama the first time.  But nice to ignore the second clip.  Given the media's lack of coverage on this, it's easy to overlook the State Department's role in planning a puppet government in Ukraine (see Pyatt and Nuland's conversation on the topic).  If we found Russia doing that in, say, Mexico or Canada, it would be front page news.  What the video clip was getting at is that Hillary is a warmonger ("we came, we saw, he died") and tbh even though I disagree with him Bernie would've been a better candidate by comparison.  You've got nothing.

I remember when that one guy, Art, did a 5 hour show, then had to reduce it to four due to back problems, and Noory said he'd take the show back to 5 hours.  That was years ago.  Hopefully he will make good on his promise this time (for the sake of the weekend shows, not that I want to be listening to 5 hours of Noory).

No, I've never seen it.  I only know the old version.

I'm not much of a TV fan, or of remakes for that matter, but this was one of the best sci-fi series of the 21st century.  Can't recommed it enough.

Ahhhhh good old Amy Goodman, I remember listening to her from my liberal days.  Actually, I might have to give her another listen given that independent/alternative media is getting close to be all that we have left, since the Internet may be effectively gone next month too.  Even PBS censored Jill Stein, JILL STEIN for Pepe's sake!

Apparently there's tons of stuff in the new #DNCLeaks about the DNC's control of the MSM.

The media got caught with their hands in the DNC cookie jar, but act like nobody's on to their shenanigans.

Yeah, I'm sure he is, kinda lost interest after Art had him on for the hundredth time, though his discussion of the Kardashev scale stayed with me.

This Brave New World would necessarily entail some kind of global (or even more?) government for the speed and due to scope. Sort of like the Technocrat Party  dreamed about decades ago or the ersatz style happening in some countries on economics that default on loans. Hardly democratic or even representative (but there are arguments through out history that this is ok, of course.)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technocracy_movement

I remember Kaku speaking about this several times, but sometimes forget the details. Didn't he say that the chances of us developing into a type 1 civilization were not great, and that while we already have some features of a type 1 civilization, such as the Internet, we would also need something like a world government before making the transition?

There are so many reasons why world government has the potential to be a dystopia.
