Anyone listen to Willie's Roadhouse on Sirius?

No. I didn't know it was a station. I have Little Steven's Underground Garage saved. Really like that one a lot but I'll have to look for the Willy.

Another great duet is willy and his son Luke nelson covering the Pearl Jam song Just Breath. That tune has got me laid.

That and the original are both great.

I tune between mad dog sports and Willy's roadhouse
Do they have a sports betting show on Mad Dog?

We need to start a gambling podcasts thread. When I was younger, I used to listen to Stardust Radio when driving back from Vegas on Sunday nights. I don't even gamble that much, I just like being in the SportsBook and the culture was interesting.

a few of the hosts will take it in that direction but for the most part it is a caller driven show. I don't listen to ESPN radio at all since I fond mad dog.

Ok, I know this next one will be controversial down South because of her activism work for PETA but God damn, this lesbian has to be one of the world's greatest singers, period.

Lang is wonderful, that's such a great song and her version of Hallelujah (though not country) done live is unforgettable.

I believe so but I never seem to know when. I just catch it by accident once in awhile on PBS. Unless what I'm seeing are reruns, that is.

Impossible to choose, but my favorite artists (not in order:) (And there are some I forgot but limited it.)
George Strait
Willie Nelson
Hank (Senior and Junior)
D.A.C. (besides the gimmicky songs, or underground albums) he is a good writer and singer
Pasty Cline
Arthel Lane "Doc" Watson (and don't forget Merle)
Loretta Lynn
Buck Owens
Emmylou Harris (and don't forget Gram Parsons)
Merle Haggard

that's a pretty strong list. If it were my list I would have to get Randy Travis in there somehow

Yeah, I could add Bob Wills, Charlie Pride, Bill Monroe, George Jones, Carter Family, Conway Twitty, Jim Reeves, Waylon, and Johnny Paycheck (again known mainly for a gimmicky song but a great artist.) It really is impossible. Btw, Willie's Roadhouse is about the only non-sports channel I listen too (also listen to Radio Classics and Ozzy's Boneyard and a few classical ones.) I still kept the Sat even though Art not on. Good for hockey and baseball also.

Yes, he was a great writer and singer. Dead way too young. The genre has many cross-overs and hard to define (western, country, bluegrass, Nashville sound, folk, outlaw country, etc) but this has always been one of my favs. A bit sentimental but nice song.

I sometimes listen to outlaw country but mainly just mad dog sports. They have a host named Scott Wetzel that comes on the weekends. He is worth a listen to if you don't already know him. He brings the gambling angle to allot of his commentary.

It is funny how much money this song made for JJW and the song's writer Ray Wylie Hubbard (who in this genre of C&W music Texas singer-songwriter is really, really good.) I once had opportunity to visit JJW at his home near me and he was very candid that his writing (and covers by people) or "Mr.Bojangles" and his cover of Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother "put my kids through school" etc and encourages his son. He even, basically, said the usual gigs (frat crowds etc) 'pay the bills.' But he is a good singer-songwriter good guy (loves the Spurs and basketball.) He also had at least two ankle-biter small dogs yapping away and he seemed (hey he is a normal guy) almost a bit nagged on by his wife. Haha.
