I'm about 90 minutes into last night's MITD-- great guest, and Dave has asked some great questions. It's still such a shock to me how engaging this show became again when Dave stepped in.

I didn't mean that. What I'm saying is, I didn't give Keith $5 to support anything in any way related to Heather Wade. In fact, I gave him $5 (and will continue to give him $5/month, so long as I think the show Dave puts out is worthy) because I support her NOT being on the show. I have no intentions of ever needing or wanting to go back into the archives to give her old shows a listen. I might like some of the guests she had on, but not because she was the one interviewing them. I gave him $5 for Art, took it away when Heather was on, and now have given it to him again to show support for the new guy.

As for Keith keeping her old shows in the archives..  what for?  The shows are recorded and put online for all of us to hear- at least those of us with paid subscriptions. So any of her supporters (unless Keith puts them "on a thumb drive" himself and hands it to her) can do the same- literally record them if they want, and then ditch their subscriptions.

He wasn't making money off of her, and said so. She said so. There are no ads on these old shows. There's no music to steal. Pretty much all shows with Crystal’s song were done before Art  died, so permission was already granted for her/Art/Keith to use it. I don’t see Crystal revoking that privilege, and Heather has as much right to ask for permission to keep using it as Dave or Keith. (Deja Vu with Art Bell some years ago, having a very similar conversation).  What does he lose by just giving her the damn shows?   

Let's say you're Paul and/or Ella.  You want to hear Heather. You LOVE Heather. You'd die for Heather. You'd pay $5 (after whatever the cost is of peeing your dogs) to support her show on a monthly basis- the archives, the AB bumper music, etc.  You're not going to pay $5 to Keith every month just so you can have the old shows, are you? No. you don't like Keith. Keith's evil. What you might do, if Evil Keith made it difficult for Heather to just take what she thinks is hers to begin with? You'd send Heather ALL of the "Pee your Dog" money to pitch in for whatever Keith says he'll take to just give her the damn shows... the same shows he doesn't make any money on anyway.


Let's say you're not Paul and/or Ella. Let's say you're you. You don't care about the paranormal anyway.  (Or maybe you just don't believe it, but you listen to it anyway). You're here to listen to train wrecks (and I can't say I don't understand or blame you for that one), and you'll listen to whatever gives you a laugh. Who are you willing to pay $5 a month for (if at all) to hear old shows?  Do you need to get them from DMRN? Or are you willing to shell out the money to get them from Vara? Or Joe's network? Or wherever they're being offered?  Do you have a loyalty to Keith, that you would only download them from him?

Whether or not they belong to Keith or Heather, I don't really care about that.  If she steals them because she thinks it's intellectual property or something- her voice, her property - that's up to Keith to deal with.  Not me.

I wouldn't pay $5/month to listen to Heather either. I did pay $5/month to listen to Art. Since Keith ended amateur time and installed Dave as host, I am back supporting them with my $5/month.

I don't know what Art was doing with Heather but it wasn't anything I wanted. Maybe he was just being nice to her and didn't want to hurt her feelings but it wasn't good radio or what I wanted to hear. Even Karen didn't want it and she was a close friend of Art's.

That said, if someone wants to listen to Heather's old shows, I'd rather them pay Keith the $5/month than Heather.

I know from my experience in the newsroom, it takes about 30 days to get the results, because of the length of time it takes for the tox screen to come back. So it is definitely a couple of weeks past due, especially if it was just simply from COPD.

Thanks Tim. What concerns me is Nevada does not have a mandate to make the results public, so his persistence may not help here. Does Knapp have insiders that can speak of the results?

Just an update on Art's autopsy, a lieutenant with the Sheriff's Department just told me they have not heard back, and have now reached out to the medical examiner to find out why it has been delayed. Toxicology is a regularly-quoted at 4-6 weeks around these parts. In fact, the San Diego County coroner held onto my godmother's son almost 10 weeks after his death (he had criminal, mental and drug histories).  Since the autopsy is handled by Clark County officials, they've probably got a larger backlog considering they serve The dredge of planet earth, Las Vegas. Nothing shocking yet...

That isn unless there's something in his system that wasn't supposed to be.  Then, a criminal referral might be the reason. I would imagine, if something was in his system that was not prescribed or known to be ingested by him, that it would be sent over to an investigator prior to public release.

I would say another 2 weeks would be fine, unless George Knapp says there's a problem.

Its different from the same ol same ol.  No more complicated than that.  While we lack something truly GREAT to listen to, I would rather listen to a unique trainwreck, than one of many paranormal hosts.  Heck, I would rather watch Senda.  I am bored to death with paranormal topics, to the point where I would rather listen to a trainwreck.  Sad but true.

I should probably add that both Heather and Dave are WAY too PC for my taste.  That said, I like Dave, so I will listen to him , just not every night.  And Heathers personality is interesting to me, so I will listen to her as well, just not every night.
