I'm trying to understand, Brig... You spent the night listening to Heater, but you would probably not have bothered with Dave?  By all accounts (and my personal observations), Heather is not a great host.  She does not ask difficult questions, and she can be a little, um, grating on the nerves.  Yet that is what you choose to listen to?

I kind of understand desiring to see the worst of any genera.  I listened to HW when she was on with Joe, when she was interviewed by MV, and her first night back.  Manos, the hands of fate was a terrifically wretched train wreck of a movie, and I did enjoy watching it as well...  But I would not watch it night after night.  I would not forgo watching Casablanca in order to watch Manos a second time.  What is the attraction that you feel?

Its different from the same ol same ol.  No more complicated than that.  While we lack something truly GREAT to listen to, I would rather listen to a unique trainwreck, than one of many paranormal hosts.  Heck, I would rather watch Senda.  I am bored to death with paranormal topics, to the point where I would rather listen to a trainwreck.  Sad but true.

I should probably add that both Heather and Dave are WAY too PC for my taste.  That said, I like Dave, so I will listen to him , just not every night.  And Heathers personality is interesting to me, so I will listen to her as well, just not every night.

Heathers personality is interesting to me

Like, in a Gomer Pyle way?

Honestly Mike, I would listen to you live if you had a bellgab chat live presence.  I AM a bellgabber after all.  I don't enjoy the private chat room thing.  I DO enjoy watching bellgabbers on live YouTube stream as well, even if the topics are not my cup of tea. That said, I think your probably doing quite well doing things just the way you're doing them, and I KNOW you are enjoying doing what you do, and that's the most important thing!

Lilith

I'm listening to Dave with Dr Richard Gallagher now.

Her entire show is built as just a conversation between her and her sycophants. Not built to acquire new listeners at all.

Who the fuck would pay monthly to hear that?

Hello Brig,

Truth be told I don't get many listeners from here, traffic comes from a few other websites. While I despise a great number of people here, I also really like a number of people that aren't even aware of it. There is a chat room on my website, but that isn't exactly used much. I have considered the live YouTube route, Ill have to do some experimenting. I definitely enjoy what I do, I've been able to talk to everyone I've respected growing up. My show is definitely not for everyone, and I really enjoy that part the most.

I certainly hope you've been entertained by all the ongoing drama, I find the behind scene aspect better than the shows themselves. Shows based entirely of the paranormal, are not my cup of tea. With that said, I like that there are options for everyone. Good bless you Brig.

Just because they don't exist, doesn't mean we can't interact with them  :P

I don't imagine Keith has any intention of replaying her shows in place of Dave shows.  His ownership of them means that Heather does not have a right to earn money from offering them as part of a subscription package of her own.

I didn't mean that. What I'm saying is, I didn't give Keith $5 to support anything in any way related to Heather Wade. In fact, I gave him $5 (and will continue to give him $5/month, so long as I think the show Dave puts out is worthy) because I support her NOT being on the show. I have no intentions of ever needing or wanting to go back into the archives to give her old shows a listen. I might like some of the guests she had on, but not because she was the one interviewing them. I gave him $5 for Art, took it away when Heather was on, and now have given it to him again to show support for the new guy.

As for Keith keeping her old shows in the archives..  what for?  The shows are recorded and put online for all of us to hear- at least those of us with paid subscriptions. So any of her supporters (unless Keith puts them "on a thumb drive" himself and hands it to her) can do the same- literally record them if they want, and then ditch their subscriptions.

He wasn't making money off of her, and said so. She said so. There are no ads on these old shows. There's no music to steal. Pretty much all shows with Crystal’s song were done before Art  died, so permission was already granted for her/Art/Keith to use it. I don’t see Crystal revoking that privilege, and Heather has as much right to ask for permission to keep using it as Dave or Keith. (Deja Vu with Art Bell some years ago, having a very similar conversation).  What does he lose by just giving her the damn shows?

Let's say you're Paul and/or Ella.  You want to hear Heather. You LOVE Heather. You'd die for Heather. You'd pay $5 (after whatever the cost is of peeing your dogs) to support her show on a monthly basis- the archives, the AB bumper music, etc.  You're not going to pay $5 to Keith every month just so you can have the old shows, are you? No. you don't like Keith. Keith's evil. What you might do, if Evil Keith made it difficult for Heather to just take what she thinks is hers to begin with? You'd send Heather ALL of the "Pee your Dog" money to pitch in for whatever Keith says he'll take to just give her the damn shows... the same shows he doesn't make any money on anyway.

Let's say you're not Paul and/or Ella. Let's say you're you. You don't care about the paranormal anyway.  (Or maybe you just don't believe it, but you listen to it anyway). You're here to listen to train wrecks (and I can't say I don't understand or blame you for that one), and you'll listen to whatever gives you a laugh. Who are you willing to pay $5 a month for (if at all) to hear old shows?  Do you need to get them from DMRN? Or are you willing to shell out the money to get them from Vara? Or Joe's network? Or wherever they're being offered?  Do you have a loyalty to Keith, that you would only download them from him?

Whether or not they belong to Keith or Heather, I don't really care about that.  If she steals them because she thinks it's intellectual property or something- her voice, her property - that's up to Keith to deal with.  Not me.

National Donut Day.  Get a free donut with any drink, at Dunkin Donuts.

(I don't work there, but plan on getting coffee this morning. My 14 yr old thinks it's cool to drink most of the pot before his work-at-home dad gets his 2 cups.  >:( )

Because he owns them and Heather doesn't. I've seen comments on her FB page by fans who signed up to her LNM show "archives" complaining that there's nothing there to download. Eventually it will dawn on them to sign up to the REAL Dark Matter archives if they want the old shows. That's money in Keith and Dave's pockets, why would you be opposed to that?

I don’t think you get my point.  Try reading my entire post.

It’s not about being opposed to putting money in Keith or Dave’s  pockets. But do you honestly think those people are all ready to jump off of the Heather Train? The last person they want to give money to is Keith.

I enjoy trainwrecks, but I would much rather find an "I don't want to miss it show", that I could look forward to listening to every night.  I'm not complaining, I have a great variety of shows I can pick from every night.

I know you're not opposed to that, but was only making the point that it's a business decision pure and simple. If Heater's fans are THAT loyal to her that they're willing to pay money literally for nothing then they all deserve to go off the rails together. Remember, trainwrecks are fun.
