I would think the Führer's only cross dressing, vampire Son would be higher on the depth chart.  He has stopped calling his listeners "white trash pieces of shit" and he even had a guest on last night.  His shows now run anywhere from 8 to 14 hours so he certainly can fill time which the network badly needs filled.

Other options? Strieber too old and frail.  Hoagland too old and flighty.  Malliard has too many real world reponsibilities.  Decon - too independent.
Decons old partner, Daniel - too sucky. Weisberg would never come back.

Yet another point in the Martian's favor. There are a great many positives in going the Martian route. I guess the bottom line is this: "Is a 5-day a week, 3 hour show built around Hoagland hate viable?" Certainly a dispute over a photograph used on a TV show a quarter of a century ago is vital stuff but day in and day out, week in and week out, month in and month out?    It's a tough call.  Dietrich is much more flexible.  What with his Dad being Hitler and fighting off killer ape armies for Idi Amin. Things of this nature make him more rounded.  Tough call..............
