My dad always used us kids as slave labor for the yard. Hand clipping around the trees, pulling weeds by hand. We couldn't stop until we had a whole bucket full of weeds. My middle older brother was an expert at fluffing up the bucket full of weeds :) lol Dad didn't by a string trimmer until we all moved out.
Wise man. Last summer I saw a young nephew playing a game on his iphone in which, from what I could gather, simply involved mowing a lawn and every so often running over zombies. I commented why don't you go outside and "pretend" to run over zombies on that lawn.

My dad used to smoke... One day he went to the store for cigarettes...

It was, and still is, simply called stinky cheese in my family. Never touch the stuff myself.

I can't say that I have ever actually sought out powdered milk. I can picture the Carnation box.
I got carried away by the floods and all the "Jade Helm" talk (not really but was on mind from radio programs and due to the floods) and thought, heck, while I'm here I might as well add some powdered milk to my usual standard sardines and beans cache. But no dice (I got to think maybe in some of the other stores they would have it?) Even the sardines at this HEB was the "good stuff" King Oscar- not the generic Pacific caught stuff.

Speaking off not hard at all, is that squash still on your counter?

It was starting to turn brown, so I held a simple service for it and buried it in my backyard.

Canned albacore tuna in spring water and frosted brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts. That's all a true prepper needs.

But if you ever need candles, I still have a bunch of Mexican novena candles from my y2k cache.

Well you are probably a responsible shopper. You probably only buy what you actually plan to eat.

Yes! And they have all those pre-made gourmet salads and pre-cooked lasagna, chicken medallions and orzo, stuffed peppers, etc. All sorts of fancy dishes that you only need to heat up.

Yes and everything else I need because I enjoy cooking. I baked last night to relax. It's calming to me. This weekend's projects, fake chicken stir fry and homemade vegan teriyaki sauce.

So, is your whole backyard just a Vegetable Cemetary?  Do you make tiny little headstones for the veggies you torture?  Is there a graveside service?  Do you cover them up with a shovel, or just use a serving spoon?  Inquiring minds want to know.

You're a better woman than me; I dream of going vegan but at best can manage to stay vegetarian for a few weeks at a time.

Oh I am not vegan all the time. I didn't eat meat for two months this summer when I was dating one and tried to introduce meat back into my diet and my body freaked out. So I eat dairy, it's just if I can do vegan I like to. Plus I love all the soy fake meat products.

I am so confused. I can't tell if you were dating meat or dating a vegetable... I need to clean my glasses.

My bad, I should have made that clearer. Sometimes when I post from my phone at lunch I leave out words, or whole sentences. LOL. I dated a vegan woman for a few months this summer. I was already most of the way vegetarian and just jumped into the deep end. If I were rich I could go vegan. It's too expensive right now for me. I also had a milk allergy the first ten years of my life so I grew up on soy.

Ha. Too much mercury in tuna (and what about those poor dolphins.  ;)) And now with Fukishima? I'll stick with my sardines. Tasty, Omega-3s, and lotsa protein. Might take you up on the candles though. Mine melted. Hint: don't store some prepper stuff in your garage in TX. Don't even leave your hiking boots, rubber boots, etc in there. Mine got something called 'dry rot' from the heat, I guess.

I have bags full of plastic goo that used to be fairly good bass lures. My tackle box is a superfund site.

Yeah, been there with fake worms. I say get a big surf of trolling rod, put a bunch of shrimp and cut up mullet on all the hooks sticking out of that mass of goo (once solidified) and try it out in the bay or Gulf!

And I did post back a few pages, that sharing private information is wrong.
Isnt that enough for you, that WE all recognize that.
Let it go RoseGirl,

And most important of all, we don't want to make Bella-Heaven a place where ANYONE feels uncomfortable to post here.
That is why we don't want to take sides..  we all get it..

I bet you bunch of cossetted know-nothing Yanks have never had bread and dripping before! Well, neither have I, but that was the sort of gunge my parents/grandparents would keep on telling us they were made to eat eight days a week...if they were lucky!

Hey You There, Whatsyourname?  I went to kindergarden in London in 1959.  Sacred Heart Convent ....don't think its there anymore.  If it is, I would love to see some pics.   :-*

Genius. I might have to modify my potato gun (more simple design but mobile) or that contraption neighbor build to shoot water balloons for kids at block parties that was similar design (charged from air compressor) with PVC and sprinkler valve to release into barrel. This caster is pure genius. The best part was the idea to use frozen bait in cylindrical form. The problem with the water balloon shooter was the friction and initial push would break, so have to use Styrofoam coffee cups on either side of balloon- like a sabot-shot.

Could you imagine a line of hoodies that proclaim.."this is white crow"...? T'would be a beautiful thing. I am also finally going to do a new soul podcast this weekend. It's been over a month I think. I neglected it for other things.

That F**k MV thing could really go far. lol He even backed it in the PNI thread. I think it's what led to our demise. It's all about brand recognition.  ::)
