The Other Side of Midnight - Richard C. Hoagland - Live Chat Thread

It's a fair cop.

(those two flat minor descending notes did sound straight outta Wagner, though)

If you consider the beginning of Mahler's theme to be a resolution of that diminished-seventh figure Wagner repeats incessantly, it's rather satisfying and I'm obliged to you for pointing it out.  And since I have now had to reveal to all and sundry that I pay Hoagie five bucks a month, I assure you the mortification is entirely mine!

I missed the show, with Hoagland out sick on Saturday, I assumed he'd be out Sunday

Hoagie is my very own Snuffleupagus, I keep missing out on him  :-\

Hahaha you may keep your quill on parole but if any fishy-smelling couplets start appearing 'round here I'm a-comin' fer ya!

Darn it, I fell asleep and missed that.  :(

I'm kind of glad that someone around here is a dues-paying member of Club 19.5, if only for purposes of verifying bumper selections, and other matters related to braaps.

Thank you, sir, for your service.

It had a very beautiful effect at that point in the program.  Incidentally, shazam says it's not some old warhorse recording like Bernstein's but rather Ivan Fischer with the Budapest Festival Orchestra, a relatively new, hot combo.  Suggests whoever picks his music is a music nerd, too.

It is my pleasure, and a pleasure as well to hear from someone else who cares about these things.

good replay tonight.
How do you know what the replays are?  I can't find bupkiss on his FB page nor his new website.  I'm trying to fill in the 2017 catalog in my recordings because of various software issues.  I even missed the eclipse one because I was trying to get back from Wyoming ... and my next podcast episode is going to be about modern eclipse pseudoscience!

I listen to the Las vegas radio feed on Winamp player... and they have the guest and topic in the scroll info on the winamp player.

OSOM website now has a report of whats going on tonight:

Sounds like the replay is starting now finally.

"Not well means that Robin VII kicked Richard out of the house for eating her pets.

Will this mean they're done for good? Is there a Robin VIII on the horizon, or will Hoagie & Robin VII make back up nice?

"If they are convicted of the charges in the superseding indictment, Sean David Morton would face a statutory maximum sentence of 650 years in federal prison, and Melissa Morton would face a statutory maximum sentence of 625 years."

Well, they were already convicted, on 4th April. They just haven't been sentenced yet (due to the fact that they both went on the lam, thus probably eliminating all leniency when they are sentenced.)

So, does anyone think I should share my theory that the structures around Tabby's star could be organic?

Cool, thanks Morg. Eclipse and Tabby talk should be interesting. Not to mention the Hoagie perspective thereon.

It's almost Hoagland time. I'd say I'm excited, but I think that's more because I have cheese and crackers to snack on.
