Well film making is a much different craft/art in today's world. Many filmmakers introduce subtle pieces of information into their films, in which only the clued in or highly observant viewers see. The most recent example I can think of is The Conjuring 2. I will let you find those yourself, I think you will find it fun.

I continue to refer to an independent film, made in Denver, I believe, called Ink. A very low budget and extremely interesting and visually captivating film.
Want to try something fun. Watch any Disney film made and watch for Illuminati symbolism. Old Walt new to get them indoctrinated while they're still young. Hell, even  " Wall-E " was loaded with it.
Yes there is a lot of symbolism in all movies made today. The only reason I watch halftime on the Superbowl is to see what the wanna-be's have planned for the next year. They know the power of collective consciousness though. This world runs on symbolism.  ;)

You should get a kick out of this pic...                           ;)

Am watching the 1922 version of Nosferatu (Brown and white ;) - the original  Nitrocellulose film ? ). Approximately 8 minutes into the movie a parchment is unrolled. I paused the playback to get a better look at what was on the scroll. Some type of symbols.

HOLY CRAP ! ! !

That's The Lesser keys of Sol-om-on (Goetia) and John Dee's Enochian Magic Sigils !     Dude unrolled an instructional grimoire right in the movie.  A grimoire, once decoded, gives instructions on summoning Nosferatu.  The symbology is close to being correct. I had to laugh at that one. The film was German made.

Will be paying much closer attention to this flick.  :o
Very interesting.  For some reason, I highly doubt "Fast 8" will have anything this interesting.

What most people aren't aware of, is the movie needs to be watched backwards... and upside down... then it all makes sense.

Ah!  Of course.  I'll fuel myself up with a half dozen Starbucks Grande darks, plus half a case of Red Bull to get in the groove, as well.  I'm sure it will all come together.

All hail The Diesel.

If you watch it backwards, do we get to see Paul come back ? :o
That was messed up. >:(

" From the seed of Belial
   came forth the vampire
              Nosferatu
which liveth and feedeth
on the Blood of Mankind
            and , unredeemed
         maketh his abode in
             the frightful caves,
             graves and coffins
           filled with accursed
     EArth from the fields of
               the Black Death.

I recently watched Deep Sea Horizon.

The Illuminati Cards predict the future. An Illuminati card predicated the BP oil spill.

As a Louisianian, that movie does nothing but piss me the f' off. It blames the disaster on a couple of underling workers. Propaganda makes me stabby. F' you Mark Wahlberg.

The World's Greatest Sinner, a truly strange movie, written and directed by and starring the aleays disturbingly charismatic Timothy Carey. The soundtrack was written by the then unknown Frank Zappa, who used the money he made to start his career.

On TCM now.

Have you ever seen the movie HEAD, Robert?  It starred The Monkees and it was kind of funny in places.  Jack Nicholson and some other guy wrote up the screenplay for The Monkees as a vehicle for them to break out of their stereotype personas that they had in their tv show.  I guess it worked because The Monkees disappeared for a number of years until MTV revived their careers.  Anyway, Timothy was in the movie too, along with Frank (leading a big cow around) and if you didn't blink you could see Jack and Dennis H. too.  Oh yeah, Victor Mature was also in it and a hot looking Teri Garr whose most memorable line in the movie was "Suck It."

I've seen numerous times and it's actually one of the few DVDs I own. I can only imagine how it must have confused and probably disturbed their teeny bopper fans.

One of my favorite Timothy Carey roles is as his doomed soldier in Paths of Glory. He supposedly improvised his entire last scene in that, and it's extremely powerful. On the lighter side, he was also a hoot as South Dakota Slim in a couple of the Annette Funicello beach movies.

Speaking of The Monkees and Frank Zappa, here's an amusing little clip of Frank and Mike Nesmith interviewing each other as each other.

Binge watching all episodes of The Expanse.
This show is not Hokey at all, which is surprising coming from SciFi.  Then again, they also put out Continuum which was damn good too.

One reviewer's partial comment that I agree with.
" ...Take everything you think about Syfy and throw it out the window. This show seems like a high budget prime-time TV show... "

I binge'd it recently after a good tip from norland.  Was quite impressed, one of the best sci-fi series I've seen in ages.  Great production values, well-written, well-acted.  I like how the plot had elements from various sci-fi influences but re-imagined them into an original story.  Must have come from an entirely separate creative dept. than the one churning out Dino-Crocs and Sharktopuses.

Scifi wrote it..that fucker is richer than he claims!!!!

LOL  :)

BTW - I just came across an excellent program / series called CyberWar. No, not a movie :( , but everyone should check it out. It's that good. If you're Tech illiterate, or a Tech Guru, it matters not. It's done documentary style, and apparently it's in it's second season (just starting), but this show is excellent. I can't recommend it enough. This is some hard hitting stuff, stuxnet, ISIS, Zero-day's, Dark-Net, etc. It's a no Bullshit program that pulls no punches.
It's on, on Tuesdays @10:30 Eastern (on channel 271- DirectTV) on Viceland channel (VICE or VICEHD).

You can also check it out here: https://www.viceland.com/en_us/show/cyberwar

Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon (2015)

Carnage Park, 2016, on Netflix.  Thought I would give this movie a shot...pun intended...it's not a 'slasher' movie but rather can best be described as a 'shooter' one.  Two bank robbers make off with some stolen loot (A small suitcase stuffed with bundles of cash which is strange because the description of the movie says that they bungled the job) and as they escape they take a lady customer as a hostage.

The trio make their way into an arid stretch of California dessert land (beautifully filmed) and this is where the film's 'boogeyman' makes his appearance.  I gotta hand it to the film's producers, they came up with quite a unique bad guy.  He's a horrible dude, no doubt about it and his killing weapon of choice is a high powered military rifle with an extremely accurate spotter scope.  Where Jason had his hockey mask, this guy has a gas mask, though he really doesn't wear it all that much.  He's spooky looking and plays his roll convincingly.

The lady in the movie gets to be the one that is pursued by the mad man throughout the entire movie and she does a good job of screaming and acting all terrified.  I kept waiting for her to do something really inane, like walking up to a guy operating a chainsaw to ask for help, or telling her friends to split up after it gets dark but those things didn't happen...thankfully, no chainsaw or friends to be found anywhere in this movie.  She didn't entirely disappoint though.  If you watch this movie you won't believe what she does after wrestling the rifle away from the killer and supposedly shooting him dead.

One of the bank robbers does a super job of acting like a terrorizing hick.  He's driving the getaway car and the kidnapped woman is babbling away telling him to let her go because she'd never met them before and didn't know their names and all.  He turned to her, smiled, held his hand out and said "The name's Joe Clay."

Not all that bad of a horror movie.  The ending is somewhat unique, though the usual excuse for a remake is utilized.  A couple things I liked about this flick was the music and the sound effects .  Both were utilized very creatively throughout the movie.

saw an episode earlier today. hawkeye had a pair of long johns during a cold korean winter. trapper stole them, everyone was stealing them around the swamp..
they ended up in a bet against radar in a poker game.
trapper says "i have a full house" and radar says " i only have two pair, you won". so trapper asks him what he had.
radar said a pair of tens. trapper says what was the other pair? radar said, "thats it, just two pairs of tens". won with 4 of a kind... it was really brilliant writing back in the day.
