Hi there everybody. Well it is a sad day for me indeed. I got a call from the Manager I have been working
with since the start of all this and the answer was NO. The further answer was they do intend to hold me
to a NC. This Manager is a good guy and what decisions that were made, were made above his head.

I did contact a Lawyer who I will not identify unless he wants to be known but I can proudly tell you he is
one of you! He was willing to proceed and felt we had a good chance to win BUT it is expensive and as any
of you know who have ever gone down that road know, it takes a long time. So if my health holds I will see
you in less than two Years.

Below is a copy of my last email to Sirius/XM minus the name of the Manager to who it was sent:

First, you may recall I said to you that I thought you would not get much of a bump from putting Coast on, was I right?
Have you actually listened to that show? Have you REALLY listened? You put him on 104 which was I guess a nice way
to get back at me, but that guy is a joke. How many people rushed to put any money down to listen to Coast on 104? I
bet nobody, all this plus they are doing what I asked for and more!

1. I said what I would like is to be back on but wanted to stream for free, but leave the value added stuff to Sirius/XM
you said no. As it stands now I presume the streaming still does not work properly and will not, till at best August or
so. You said this was a good idea for me but not Sirius. I disagree, if we develop millions of listener's, in what World
is that bad for Sirius in any way? If you can charge BIG bucks per commercial minute.....Broadcasting 101, it's a good thing.

2. We talked about one day with streaming, I asked about other days, you said we could talk about that, we never did.

3. As it stands now people MUST pay about $180.00 a Year if they want to hear Art Bell, why not allow listeners the option of JUST
streaming my show for a lesser fee? It could be pro rated, IF it just worked properly.

4. I said I would be willing to buy the Studio gear for whatever you paid if I could be released from my Non Compete, I have not yet
heard a answer to that one, though you did once say you would not let me go, you sent me a reply saying you would consider it.

5. I can wait out the remaining time, then stream, which it looks like I will be doing at 70 Years of age.

I just for the life of me can not see why everything with Sirius/XM has to be lumped together in a Business model that works for non
commercial music just fine, but lumps Talk Radio in with it. I understand why it works for Howard, he had little choice unless he
wanted to keep paying fines. I don't know about Dr. Laura.

Two things I can tell you about me, every time I crack the mike I put 110% into it, it takes a lot of work and I am willing to give my time
and energy happily but not if I have no way to grow the audience. I have millions of people waiting for a way to hear me and they would pay
something to do so, but asking them to become subs for $180.00 bucks a Year with a service that does not work well will not get them there.

The other thing is Coast, I will not share time with them. I thought hard about that, and there is no way I would rejoin under any conditions
while you carry them. The reason I came back on is because that show is a insult to the entire field, not to mention at least 45% of it is
commercial or breaks of some sort while the rest is just plain bad Radio.

I truly enjoyed working with you and everybody else at Sirius/XM and wish there was a way to work this out. I understand you think the way
forward is exclusive content and perhaps you are right but in my opinion the World will pass you very shortly while trying to hold on to this
model. It really already is. Nobody tried to stop all the Pirates, every one of my shows was and is available for download the next day, great
for the guy who doesn't want to pay but not so great for the Talk Host who wants the live calls, how does this make sense???

                                                                                                                                              Art

So, there it is. From the bottom of my heart I want to thank all of you for so much support. I wish it had worked out
in some way but there were forces at work that I never thought about, I am just a talking head........

Thanks for the memories Art.  You are the best!  God speed and blessing to you and your family.  Hopefully we'll hear you again in two years.

No surprise for me sadly.  I thought early on Art's heart really wasn't in it, and he didn't want to continue.  I do believe he was surprised at how much support he was getting, and at least looked into fighting the NC for his fans' sake.    Personally I think he's relieved, and if retirement is truly what he wants, I wish him nothing but the best.

Like at least a few other posters, I am disappointed at the childish tirade against C2C/Noory, even more disappointed Art felt it necessary to pander to the anti-Noory crowd here by posting personal correspondence on a public forum.   I would have preferred to remember Art as the brilliant radio personality who amazed me in the 1990s, not as a bitter old man who had allowed his hate for another human being to consume him.

What's to keep you from recording shows for the next two years, and simply not broadcasting them until the non-compete is up? Obviously these would be guest interviews without callers... though of course you could get callers if you name the time and place to call, even if the callers can't listen.

That just wouldn't work. How relevant would taped shows be if they're talking about something like comet ISON? Plus, if you believe Art about his base leaving him because of streaming issues, he had a show he could have shifted into an interview only format like Dreamland. He didn't.

This.

I believe the gas engine shuts off when you come to a stop and the electric motor takes over until you put your foot on the gas pedal.

It does. The advantage to the car is that you can run it on city streets on the battery thus saving gas and then when you go on the freeway or over a certain speed, the gas engine takes over and recharges the battery.

And ... people think that a replacement battery for a Prius costs thousands. It doesn't. You can get one from $ 6-800 and have it put in. If you have help and are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself. It takes a lot of work and a lot of unscrewing bolts, nuts, screws but it can be done. Battery is too heavy to do it by yourself. You can also replace the dead cells with another battery that has good cells ( its like a rectangular honeycomb ) by using a tester.

He got me through a divorce in the mid 90's. I have put up with listening to assholes like Hoagland, watched comets come and go, watched Art come and go, and I just don't want to see him fizzle out without him putting up a legal battle and spending some of the money we helped him make. If he doesn't, wont make me mad, but I will be disappointed, as will be many of his real fans.

Yeah, I'm very disappointed. Like you, I've been listening to Art since the mid-90s but if there's one thing I've learned from this mess it's that you can't bring back the past. Those days are gone. There's no use in beating a stubborn mule, just get a new mule. Ok, I just compared Art Bell to a mule, but you get my point. Anyway, who's starting a new paranormal podcast out there? MV, you should do it. But no politics. A brand new paranormal podcast a la Art Bell. Come one, buddy. I'll even let you put me on as a regular guest, it'll be sure to take off then. I'm pretty funny if you get me drunk enough.  I'll be your Brian Redban  ;)

Upgreyed

Let's dance in style, let's dance for awhile
Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?

Let us die young or let us live forever
We don't have the power, but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The music's for the sad men

Can you imagine when this race is won?
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders, we're getting in tune
The music's played by the madmen

LESS THAN TWO YEARS if thats the case. Probably more like one. Hopefully art gets the ball rolling sooner rather than later on the legal front.
I completely agree with you.  They could put on a few different paranormal 'shows', heck even charge a few bucks a month and save up for 2 years, I would surely sign up and I bet Thousands of others would sign up also.
Go For It Art.      You could even be attract more subscribers to the shows by calling in to the shows or being a "guest".    :)

New name for C2C :

Plain bad radio.

And it gives me a new label for my $noory posts.
Thanks to Art for letting keeping us up to date.

The whole debate on Art = great broadcaster
                               Art = bad businessman

kind of reminds me of the Twix commercials where the two sides are fighting over the left side/right side debate.

In another context the debate is almost amusing in a way since people are throwing brickbats at Art, Sirius, Noory, Premiere and each other.
It also reminds me of either a food fight or a pie fight.

I found that to be embarrassing for a 68 year-old man to engage in sour grapes on his way out rather than leave gracefully once he was told no. Acting as though he had bargaining power with Sirius/XM after burning his bridge earlier this month by saying he will not share time with C2C? How arrogant and delusional. I love you, Art. You entertained me for years back in the 90s but because of your actions after leaving Dark Matter, you've left a poor legacy for us to remember you by. So.....you all still think I am full of shit?

Art is a true talent and a rare breed in this field....and I don't think he is as wealthy as you all think. I don't think he will fight it...he will wait while the investigation continues. In fact, he may have to.

Art was treated just as badly as we were.....worse, as he is paying with his reputation and his future. Those assholes played him....they used his popularity, his talent and his audience base to carve out a deal for Premier and C2C and they defrauded the public to do it. He said it himself...'business is war'...and he is right. I am just so sorry and so pissed off that it cost him his show, his reputation and his legacy.

Art...find a way...it means so much more than you may realize.

Try to find Noory programs on You Tube and you'll find Premiere is having them taken down, at least the more recent ones.
Still DM shows on for now.
Next week I will actively try to get the podcast going.
WE, collectively, could all do podcasts, interview Art and have a guest on whom ART and us could interview while we interview Art so that the whole thing would be one long 2 year interview program.

I'm watching the Kennedy assassination 24 hours after program.
More darkness after 50 years.
Gad, 50 years.
Where DID the time go so quickly ?
And what happened to us with the hope most of us felt back then ?

I will have to take your word for it. I truly cant stand listening to that guy. I did listen to Graham Hancock only to hear Noory ask him if he thought Moses was irradiated by an alien when getting the Ten Commandments. I loved the way Hancock bitch slapped him. It could have been Art instead of that dumb ass. Man....

Anyway, thanks for the education.

Sure, there are a few duds here and there, but most zombie movie are fuuuckin gold. I actually can't even get into a film unless there's at least one screaming, undead beastie stupidly running and/or shambling around until its shot dead. It would be heartening to everyone, I think, if in this film Art were to be on the roof of his Pahrump compound with a twelve gauge blasting zombies in their nasty faces, an e-cigarette dangling out of his grizzled and heroic jaw. He could even do some cheesy one liners like, "I said TURN OFF YOUR RADIO MUTHAFACKO!" or "NON-COMPETE THIS YOU DAFFY TWAT!" Then he could helicoptered out of there to the Phillipines and start a shortwave radio pod cast that coordinates supply routes, safe zones, etc. for the survivors on the mainland. Fuck a cameo --- he should star in it. And fuckin Sylvia Brown can be a zombie in it, and William Cooper, and David John Oates, and Art can tie ACME-issued explosives to all three and throw them off a cliff.

I don't know of a good title. "The Art of Zombie Murderin'" sounds good to me, but I'm just waking up.

I bunch of mediocre assholes steam roll a man of talent and vision for 12 years.

Right in front of our eyes.

For what?

Ultimately because they have power and they can.

Ultimately, because he is better than them.

Well said.

Art is a true talent and a rare breed in this field....and I don't think he is as wealthy as you all think.

Bullshit. Highest paid radio guy of the 90's after Rush and Stern. Not saying he wants to spend it on this baloney, of course

Try to find Noory programs on You Tube and you'll find Premiere is having them taken down, at least the more recent ones.
Still DM shows on for now.

Easy as shit to find full programs up to and including last night. Want me to post links?

Or feeding on your young...

That's about right.

Producer Paul, my heart is breaking for you & Art & the Dark Matter team.  This is beyond messed up on several levels.

Oh noes! I can't listen to coast for free anymore? Well, shucks! I guess that means I'm gonna have to become a coast insider or pay for a sirius subscription.... ::)
