True. I projected a desperate tone on this particular promotion because of all the cancellations they've had recently. And their use of the term "inactive radios" made me think of all the inactive radios sitting there on laptops, tabletops, smartphones and in cars, stripped of Dark Matter and achingly silent. So I imagined the Sirius folk sitting around a boardroom table or distributing a memo or whatever, saying, "sh*t, we've lost a bunch of subscribers. How do we get them back?"

But that leads me back to the question that I'm not sure anyone's ever answered (or if they did, I missed it): How many new subscribers did they gain because of Art and how many did they lose when he left?

No one knows for sure, all of their subscriber information is internal aside from broad statements like surpassing 25 million subs this summer. As for the free trial, this is something they do from time to time and isn't a reaction to any one talent leaving Sirius. As talented as Art is, I doubt he hurt their bottom line by ending Dark Matter.

I wish I could recall which old show Art did where a woman called in, claiming to be an employee of a government facility (perhaps area 51) and she said a colleague of hers worked there and he was working on something top secret but there were these weird animals being found around the area and supposedly they were escaped experiments from the facility.

Actually I think I have some of those critters.  Back some years ago I used to run America's Smallest Sideshow. Complete with a ten foot banner line.  Folks would line up to plop down and dollar go inside and see the oddities.  When I had my Chupacabara show, Border Patrol and other LEO's from the great southwest would tell me their stories.  Suffice it to say, what I had inside was real and the stories you read of folks dying of thirst when trying to cross the desert into Arizona, are just that, stories.

Maybe one day I will relay the tale of the time I was face to face with America's Largest King Corba, all 17 feet of him...and no, he was not defanged, "Hot" as a skillet, one might say.

I believe I may have gotten off to a bad start on this great forum. Someone yesterday, ripped me a new asshole for saying some of the posters need to get back on their meds. He was quite angry saying I should not judge those of you taking anti-depressives and anti-psychotics.
He was quite right. I read an arrival recently that stated 60% of Americans are on some form of mood enhancing drug, and that the number is expected to skyrocket as the pauperisation of America continues.
Soooo, I should've known that quite a number of these angry posters are probably unemployable, and /or on some form of medication. It was thoughtless of me, and I hope those of you, whose medicated sensibilities, I offended, will consider giving a brother (in Christ) another chance?
