No, I've never listened to Phil Hendrie, this was during a long interview with Al Taylor that was on Coast to Coast in the 1990s.
guildnavigator:
You remember correctly. It was the 9-5-1997 interview. I'm listening to it at this moment. :)

Can anyone put a timeline on when Art was promoting the fake stock exchange, where one could purchase Art Bell stock?

Onan, I wish you had asked that a couple of weeks ago, when I listened to a show where he mentioned it. I think it was called the "Rogue Market."
Sorry, I don't remember the date.

that helped. with rogue market I was able to find a show with  David Adair from 8/19/97.

I thought I was listening to Art when I lived in Pittsburgh. That would put my discovery in early 94. But more than likely, I found Art in 96-97.

Spooky Matter

I have not tried YouTube but it appears every show so far is there.  Okay so it's not like listening live but I can't think of a better way to listen without bringing Sirius into your life.  I have interest in Dark Matter only.  It would have been cool for Art to have swung a deal for membership to only his show where it costs no more than coast.

Other than the live point can anyone say why they would not just tune in through YouTube?  Is it going to be like Napster where they went after people who had downloaded?  Aren't the people recording for YouTube risking some type of legal whatever?

I doubt any legal consequences will befall anyone posting Dark Matter to YouTube. But maybe. I would guess at some point the files will be yanked.

I have never fully understood the business practice of subscription radio. To me SiriusXM has been lacking decent programming since its beginning.

But listening to the show LIVE is a major point, if not the *whole* point.
It's like the difference between watching a video of a rock concert, and actually being there. :)

Without a time machine.

Oh that is so funny.  Well if you're not calling in and you don't want to pay Sirius and like many listeners can doze off, you're going to be playing it on on demand anyway.  I guess I think it's a better option then those who've talked about creating endless email accounts, lol.

At least until files are yanked ;  ))

Dark Matter has been on youtube...although one of the persons that started uploading them the first week stated that there were rights issues with some of the bumper music used on the show, so now basically they're up but without the music.

Art should open a "Time Traveller Line" soon.

I hope so.

Can't wait for GIS. Only 9 hours and 13 minutes to go...

I think Art should name his superior, unscreened open lines Everything Matters.

The GIS are going to be great... they always are. However, only Brendan is listed as the guest tonight... I hope Barbra is ok.

Same here, I was wondering if Barbara is still on cassette tapes or if she's gone completely digital yet.

Huuum... Instead of Barbra, Art's website lists "Jimmy Chunga" as joining Brendan tonight.
