If you really hate to harsh everyone's mellow like you say then don't do it. As for Greer, I love his shows and am enjoying this one as well. As for RH... I don't know. Maybe you have something and maybe you don't. Either way, it seems like everyone else is having a good time with the the show so maybe you should just let everyone do that and not try and ruin everyone's night?
Allow me to suggest the lovely "Ignore" option in "Profile". And as any psychologist would tell you, no other person has power to ruin anything for us: we allow them to do so.

I bailed when Greer said the magic words - 'remote viewing'.

Fuck that.

I'll listen to the last hour, which should be open lines, using the On Demand feature.

10 years of Snoory.

Wasn't that a case of remote snoozing ?

I'm puzzled by something. I logged into Sirius just before the 10 PM & the program was already in progress. Does it really start at 7 PM EST or something ?

I'm debating whether or not to get a car unit so I can listen to Art if we are out late.

I did send an email to the PR lady expressing my displeasure over the " kill the prostitute " promo.

NO call for that in this day and age and it certainly was NOT funny.

It's anti woman, anti human, disrespectful and treating women like they are disposable which is what feminists have complained about for years.

And it certainly doesn't belong on Art Bell who deserves better.

I did think it was kind of nostalgic to hear an ad for trucker fuel. I wonder how many truckers are aware that Art's back ?

Art has to get a better lead in show. The TMZ show is horrid.

I panicked last night. Either my clock and watch were a bit fast, or Dark Matter was a bit late. I heard some crap about the Kardashians around 10:00 PM when the program was supposed to start. I thought that there was a serious Sirius glitch.

Nighthawk

I have no question in my mind that Art is just havin fun alright. I am so happy for him. Right on!!

My only concern is that Art will rely too much on old, re-hashed guests of the past. Kaku and Greer are an exception; Greer has current things going on that are somewhat interesting, and Kaku always has something new to talk about in science. The rest, forget 'em. We better see Graham Hancock, and then Art branching out in search of new guests and cool topics. I don't want to see him recreate the golden years of C2C 100%, for the sake of nostalgia. I LOVE the small touches like music, Russ, and his approach with open lines, etc.

I just don't want it to be months in and we're starting to get concerned that Art is stuck in a time warp. Maybe I'm way out of line.

On the other hand, I loved the premiere and can't wait for tonight. It's so amazing to have Art back. I'm sure he realizes that he was a trailblazer then and has an opportunity to be one now. No need to stand still.

This was a response to me seeing the guest list for this week, btw.
yeah -  I find this negative.  Let the man do what he does.  Turns out he's doing it well and the satellite radio pure heaven over the am so its even better.  I can't wait to hear Hoagie's mindtrip as it has been awhile for me.

karios8

If he only used his same old re-hashed guests the bare minimum would be a significant improvement over that other show we used to listen to.  I already know that he isn't going to do the bare minimum, like that other host we used to listen to, and will interview the hell out of whomever is on the other end of the line.

jazmunda

Listened to the show on and off throughout the afternoon (in Oz). It's great using the app and being able to pause and resume at will not to mention fast forwarding the ads in order to catch up.

I was a little bit miffed at Art for not taking Greer to task for anything that he said or claimed. My BS meter was beeping off the charts. Art's must be broken or set to a less sensitive level.

I hope he fine tunes it for Reed tomorrow night. If he doesn't mention the hoax I will lose a little bit of respect.

The sirius on-demand archive of Tues night's show with guest Dr. Steven Greer is now in the list.
They have now apparently updated the expiration period to about one year (364 days) now.

Good points in here, Falkie

remote snoozing=remote snooring  hahaha

My radio can go iin the car or in the house - you just have to plug it in where ever you want.  Look into it - not that expensive really.  I am going from Art bell to his rebroadcast if I miss the first bit (it starts at 7pm here on the left coast) or back in time to the Grateful Dead station (currently I'm 16 again and dancing in my head...good times) with amazing sound quality -something no one seems too impressed with but I'm really into.

Finally, I didn't hear the kill promo but, believe me, women are marginalized everyday.  Thanks for taking a stand.  I will do the same if I hear anything like it.  It gets really old.  Really, really old on so many levels.  I mean when it's accepted for guys to rape a girl and then post pictures everywhere and shame her for their actions to the point of suicide ... clearly something is seriously wrong with those boys.  I am a woman and have three daughters.  This subject hits very close to home. Why is Viagra celebrated and but abortion and even birth control are controversial?  I can be a real downer, can't I?

Thank God for this amazing radio and Jerry's fantastic guitar work and the etherial "The Other One"currently morphing into something else in that way the Dead were so expert at - back to the 70's magic for me.

I noticed that too.

Well if we can't have 27 years then one will have to do.

For those interested, I assume Art settled the debate with this tweet earlier: "@ArtBell51: Favorite Vape flavor...coffee."

HELLO FRIENDS LONG TIME LURKER FIRST TIME POSTER

I wanted to thank you guys for this site and moreover echo the voices welcoming Art back.

I'm 34. I listened to Art in high school and college; I was so sad when he left Coast â€"â€" both because I missed him and because I felt for him and his family, the things they were going through.

This board kept my hope alive for a return...unlikely as it seemed...but OH SNAP ART IS BACK

Also I'd like to mention that I originally found this board by randomly typing GEORGENOORYSUCKS.COM into a web browser to see if the url was available

I have nothing to say about Dave that hasn't been said by others, now including Art himself~!*

*I reserve the right to change my mind about that

*spits on hands*

All my point was is I don't want him to do what C2C does, or try to emulate the past ten-fold. He's much better than that. After Greer I don't think this is an unreasonable stance.

Doesn't mean I'm negative on Art himself; he's a pro. When he was running C2C there was a sense of discovery with a lot of his shows/guests, that's what I want from Dark Matter. I don't see how that's negative? Because I meagerly criticized it?

All you complainers regarding commercials with bad language sound like a bunch of old fogeys.

I know, right?

It's so kewl to be here on satellite radio where we can say shit and stuff and our mommies can't do anything about it.

And have pointless obnoxious commercials that don't have a shred of humor or intelligence.  Its so fuckin' rad man.

I too was irritated by that ad. I see nothing about DM, other than the relatively late hour, which would make anyone at Sirius think no children would be listening to that. Regardless, has the common denominator sunk so low in America that Sirius thinks it's just business as usual to play that stuff, and that everyone should expect to hear it? If I want to hear it, I know where to go get it. I don't want it thrown at me.

I agree about the low common denominator, but the outrage over this commercial (which I didn't hear) seems odd considering the crap Noory has taken here over the years about his squeamishness over 'naughty' language.

It's really just that Art's show is generally of an intellectual nature and to hear a pile of swearing for the sake of swearing during the commercial break is really just not appropriate for the feel of the show.

You know what bunches my panties? Someone who's been here less than three months lecturing folks on what should and should not offend them, and calling them "old fogeys" because they were caught completely off guard by a clip from a dj about how glorious his life would be if he only had a vagina so he could share his sexual impulses with all comers. See, most folks approach radio, satellite or not, sort of like movie previews: you don't hear anything with a higher octane rating than the show you've come to enjoy. That way there are no surprises, like if you went to see Bambi, and the previews were for Girl Scout Suck Slaves VI. It's simple enough for folks who want that to head on over to the I-want-a-vagina-so-I-can-spread-the-love channel. But no fair bombing folks with an ad for it while they listen to Art Bell, because they can't avoid being smacked in the face with something they find offensive. That only makes sense. And it's only fair.

You managed to express my own feelings far more eloquently than I could. Thank you.

I thought last night's show was true to form.  Art's no dummy. He's providing the rope for Greer to hang himself with. It could become quite interesting as there's tons of fodder there to work with. I'm not quite sure what all the whining is about.  It's a new show. You have to have enough patience in order to allow your guest to unpackage and unwind the rope. That takes a certain amount of savoy. Greer is definitely controversial material, and Art needs guests, so I'm not surprised he didn't run him off the air his first night on. I'd stay tuned though. I'm sure it'll get grittier.
As for the smut commercials, I find them very distracting and totally childish. Art has more class than that. Not everybody gets a rush from listening to a potty mouth.  Some of us actually have our own standards of acceptable conduct. Personally, my sensibilities are offended with that crap. I'm all for the finer things in life.

That TMZ show is brutal. There are few things in this world I care less about than celebrity/Hollywood gossip.

The "smutty" commercials issue has been resolved, so why is it still being discussed here? My only comment on the issue now is I am in awe of the power Art weilds that he is able to tell a giantsatellite radio station what NOT to air in the way of advertisers, when advertisers are the ones who pay the bills! Yes, subscribers do too, and I assume to retain subscribers, they don;t want to continually offend them, but still. Art Bell is the MAN for shutting that down in just one day.

You have already called people "whiners" and now you're giving this person shit for speaking their mind. Why do you care so much what people have to say on the matter? It has nothing to do with you, so merely ignore it if it bothers you.
