George Noory Sucks! - The Definitive Compendium

Jorch's fumbling was in peak form last night. Actual science seems to cause him to dig deep into his stack of 2nd grade index cards. Worst of the night was his classhic way of asking "How did life come to rely on oxygen?"

"How did we become oxygen...livers?" 

Yes, he said "livers". As in, things that live and breathe. I try, really try, to think that a 65-year-old man, who's the host of a national radio show, can't be this stupid, can't have this poor a grasp of the English language. But night after night, something makes me cringe.

The nature of this show requires an intelligent, inquisitive and skeptical mind. Jorch has all but three of those qualities. And the more I expose myself to it, the sadder I feel when I think of what Art's legacy could've been up to this point. Can you imagine the the moments of the last 10+ years we'd be lauding as true classics instead of this nightly clown show? You know something...I can't imagine it. Because before Art I couldn't have wrapped my mind around a concept like Mel's Hole, or predicted a rogue plane flight into Area 51.

Instead, the faux emperor has no brain, Tommy and the corporate suits enable and enrich, and we laugh and point. Art's return can't come soon enough because I'm not sure I can stand this much longer. 

Yeah, I know what you mean.  I listened to the first hour with Ward and it was painfully obvious that Dave was in way over his head.   Ward once again, patiently tried to explain how science works vis a vis climate change, but Dave still had to indicate he thought it was "cyclical."  It's hard to know whether to feel sorry for the guy or if he's just a blockheaded, inflexible jerk.

Last week was a hilarious trainwreck of verbal non sequiturs....

There was the one about the "Mexican Demons" who can "apparently understand English...."

And then there was the conversation with Robert Morningstar when he said that under the TPP people "could be arrested without trial..." 

The next night during the "news," he couldn't explain correctly what the TPP was about or what exactly the legislation going through Congress was.  And this guy does "8 hours" of show prep?

On Sunday during the "news" segment, he mentioned something in the post-American Revolutionary period, including the "2nd Congressional Congress," when he should have said the "2nd Continental Congress..."

I think I might've listened to the program for about 40 minutes, total, last week and that was enough.

...I don't think Noory is experiencing seizures or has any brain damage that would cause him to forget so quickly, but rather that he's just good at superficially feigning interest in guests he's not paying att'n to.  I suspect Noory has a helper who actually pays att'n to the show hand him questions written on slips or cards, and that sometimes after reading one & getting an answer, Noory puts it mistakenly in the "unused" rather than "used" pile.

While I agree completely with the "superficially feigning interest in guests he's not paying att'n to"
thing, I still wonder if some of the other issues may a symptom of a brain deficit of of some kind (OK, hold the jokes), which would be very sad despite our opinions of him.

Next-to-finally, some of the moments that annoy me most are when my mind is teeming with even obvious questions or comments that Noory could ask/make that never come.

A few ways to greatly improve C2C:

1. Start paying more attention to what your guests have to say.

2. Find another adjective to use besides "incredible".

3. Retire and bring in Knapp.

Best method is to record it, or if still up late and working about the house, listen when working in your garage with power tools, mowing the lawn, or anywhere with loud noise. He actually works better than ear protection. It is NOT advised to listen whilst driving or anytime making precise or dangerous activity or measurements. My theory why, on occasions, some truckers still call in is simply so that they can hear their own voice and stop the Norry madness, lest a tragic crash.

My point is Art wasn't above having quacks, or at least potential quacks, on but, even his guest said "he wasn't selling it" and only that you could (and apparently still can from a quick search) buy it. And the doctor did get into some conspiracy with regard to the establishment and Art called him out, a bit. But not as much as in some topic. BUT it wasn't full-on infomercial as is show these days with Norry, whose face is all over the websites to buy various "supplements."
