Can Noory pronounce anything correctly?

I can't imagine what in the hell he would have to say on that show.

The last time he was on he was saying that maybe missing people are falling into portals. I kid you not. And they pay him to come up with this crap? And the producers of that crappy show are so dumb that they think Jorch is an authority on these subjects? Just because he's hosted Coast for over a decade? Guess the producers of Ancient Arseholes have never actually listened to Jorch on Coast. Or they would know he's dumber than a box of rocks.

Noory seems to just try to parrot what he has heard from some of his past guests so its all 2nd or 3rd hand.
Of course the info all gets mangled thru the Noory filter.
Same as Jimmy Church appearing on the mufon ufo show that follows AA on Fridays

Of course.  That's what Noory calls thorough 'research.'

I can't believe I'm saying this but I am with Noory on this one. Hoagland was trying to pull a fast one by bringing up something on air that should have been discussed privately. He tried to sandbag Noory and Noory shut him down. He did it pretty well too, he didn't sound mad, but Hoagland got the message and that was that.

Yeah, it was surprising to hear Noory assert dominance over Hoagland.  Maybe he should try it more often?  It's a shame Noory only gets that way when the program format or marketing model is being challenged, and not when guests are abusing their right to free speech.

Noory's research in this case consisted of watching a Twilight Zone episode, or possibly of reading about a Twilight Zone episode.

The station here just replays the first hour of coast after it's over. Morning drive doesn't begin until 6. I'd guess it's similar in other markets

Yes.....same here in Nebraska.  I missed the Hoagland/Noory exchange.....damn!

I don't know how any of you can listen to what passes as a show these nights. Hats off to you all for your fortitude in keeping up this thread. I've tried at least once or twice a week to tune in and shut Dave off after a few minutes.

As far as Dave using Art's signature music- it just shows Dave as vacant- a petty little man with no imagination or passion.

Yeah.  Even at this late date, I hear that music in the wee hours and something inside is prepared to hear Art's voice and then that OTHER person comes on.  I think I'll get an internet radio, which I will have other uses for.  That Sirius experiment - they really had a lousy radio.  Art's right to have left them.

Maybe he just needs attention.  Or a really good therapist
Sure.  It was so interesting, listening to Art's interviews of his guests.  I'd find myself, so late at night, being sucked into their belief systems - and then awake in the morning with the light of day and full consciousness shining, and think how silly of me.  It's a fun trip.  You learn about yourself through such things.

Well, I think the people who make such decisions think we're all a bunch of crackpots.  I don't think they get involved enough with such programming to be able to form considered opinions. As long as they are getting advertising dollars in and listeners they're happy.  Who knows how much they even listen?  It may be, when and if they do listen and something that is not too clever is said, they believe that WE believe every word, like some born again sheep.  They probably laugh at us and don't see how things that stimulate the imagination and that sense of wonder that we had in youth can be a good thing if not taken too far.  Also, each night we get to tune up our bs meters, no?  I'm sure that each of us believes things that others on this forum do not.

I hope this way of doing things really works out for Art.  It sounds like a really good approach.

Maybe he thinks it's all bs, so he has no inner yardstick to tell him when they are overstepping.  Perhaps they get reports on the demographics of the audience and his are mostly a fundamental right wing quasi-Christian group whom he has no wish to offend.  Instead of taking a middle road, or bending to both sides of an issue now and again, which would keep everyone engaged, he just 'goes along to get along'.  He's so afraid of offending that he's become offensive.

Maybe he's done this before, but last night in an ad for a radio receiver he said C2C is on 600 stns., but that with a good radio it sounds like it's on 10,000.  I've no idea what metaphor he was actually going for there.  A "good" radio makes every program sound like his?  No, thanks!

The show was five hours for most of the time Art Bell hosted it.
Yep in the 1990s, Art hosted c2cam for 5 hours M-F. Then it went down to 4 hours after 1999 or so.
I recall when Noory first took over the hosting back around 2003, he promised he would return the show to 5 hours soon, but has never done so even after 12 years...

I think Noory didn't want Hoagland to remind listeners of all that on the air, reminding folks of Art's 5 hour show in the past  and Noory's broken promise?
Hence why he quickly shut up Hoagland before he went to far on this subject when he tried to expand his guest hosting gig from 3 to 4hours to even longer.   8)

Yeah I noticed Noory was promoting his new high of over 600 stations a lot more than usual last night on the air.
Like he is setting up for the battle when Art's show premieres, so he can say he has more AM/FM radio stations than Art does.
Notice he never mentions the total listeners he has, only the number of radio stations and most of those are probably really low power ones, not the big powerhouse stations Art had back in the 90s.
They are probably more dependent on the internet streamlink subscribers more than the radio stations now anyway?

Quote from: 21st Century Man on June 20, 2015, 12:02:16 AMMeh.  Hoagland is just another fraud who knows how to talk.  In a roundabout way, he pretty much admitted that he lies and, well, I've had enough of his crap.  At least someone like Steve Quayle actually believes the stuff he talks about.  I hope Hoagland stays off Art's show.  Off goes the radio.
How could Hoagland possibly be a liar?  Noory says everything he's said came true!

And then Hoagland had another shill on the show to back up his "interpret'n" of the Russian statement that I bet a competent translator would say was insignificant.  I can't believe that for over 2 hrs. he made such a huge thing of the word (in the translation he got) "cultural".

And how many times did Noory have to ask him whether he thought the rocks were more important?  Was Noory clumsily trying to hint that Hoagland should talk more about what Noory's interested in?

edit:  Oops, I titled that July 20.  I meant June 20.  I guess that date is etched into my mind.
Thanks.  Must've been just after I fell asleep.

WIRE SERVICE TRANSLATOR: How should I render this Russian word?  The closest word I can think of in context is "scientific", but it might possibly be given more broadly as "cultural".

TRANSLATOR'S SUPV.: So just include both.

TRANSLATOR: "...of scientific or possibly cultural value..."

HOAGLAND: Aha!  Scientific or possibly cultural.  Both words are used, meaning the Russians are hinting at what they know.  Oh, they got NASA over a barrel this time!

A new angle, Noory TP'd Coast.  Richard just wanted to bring it out on the carpet to play with.

Norry REALLY was interested in the OL caller's campaign about having a tether or alarm to alert people if their infant was still in the car-seat (to help eliminate these deaths in hot cars.) Norry asked details about, some of which:

"about the heating up of a car, out there in parking lot, out there, with the sun beating down on it. If it's...what's temperature to hurt an animal or a little kid?"

"I would guess a 100 with the windows up or even cracked a little bit is enough to kill you."

"What the outside temperature outside has to be to reeaally cook that car from within? That would be really interesting to know."

"some parents I'm just gonna run into the store I'm not going to unleash my kid from the car-seat..."

"you can't leave your animals or your kids in the car in the summer.....(creepy laugh)...or in the winter."

"by the way when a little hamster dies, he is as stiff as a board."

"I would not stuff my dead cat or dog, as far as that goes, even if you love them."

"Geez" was that caller Helga fake? Or has this what C2C really has become......

Izintit?

I missed Hoagland v Duncecap but from what I can tell it was just Hoagland being Hoagland. I remember often Art saying "Now Richard,..." . If the Nooron listened to his guest better it might save him some aggravation. Maybe he`s feeling the heat of July 20th? GNS

Instead of Snoory, I listened to a replay of Art and Hoagland from 2004. It was eerie how Hoagland was just as accurate then as now.

Noory would really enjoy this story which was huge in the Vancouver media awhile back.

Dog walker sentenced to six months in jail after six dogs died in hot truck

http://www.vancouversun.com/life/walker+sentenced+months+jail+after+dogs+died+truck/10767757/story.html

Quote
METRO VANCOUVER - Dog owners broke into applause as Emma Paulsen was led from a Surrey courtroom in handcuffs Wednesday, sentenced to six months in prison.

Along with prison time and two years probation, the judge imposed a 10-year ban on the disgraced former dog walker owning any pets, and a lifetime ban on her caring for the animals of others professionally.

In May of 2013, Paulsen, a Delta resident, tearfully told her clients, reporters, and police that six dogs had vanished from the back of her truck at the Brookswood off-leash dog park.

Paulsen claimed that she had been playing with the dogs there for several hours, then put them in the truck and went to the washroom. When she returned, the truck’s canopy was open and the dogs were gone.

Her story unravelled in less than a week. Paulsen admitted to a missing pet investigator and to RCMP that the dogs had died in the back of her truck after she left them unattended for about 40 minutes while she went shopping at a Richmond Costco.

She had panicked, dumped the dogs’ bodies in an Abbotsford ditch, and concocted the story about the alleged theft...

He'd probably also like the one about the guy who massacred a bunch of sled dogs when the dog sled business didn't pick up after the Vancouver Olympics.

We've had worse here. It is a real issue and sad because after some dad or mom loses their kid, or even dogs, you don't want to punish them further- but at the same time want some kind of justice and to "send a message" to others. Usually it happens when a schedule changes. And due to laws about safety that child-seats need to be in the rear seats, backwards facing, and size of vehicles. An example here was some computer executive, change of plans- was supposed to drop off one of the younger kids to childcare instead of mom who had some appointment. Bad traffic, getting late, kid falls asleep in car seat rows back, getting calls from work about a meeting, finds a parking place, and bolts to his office. Remembers, suddenly, a bit later but kid is dead. I'm not excusing him but things can happen to people and it doesn't take long.

But Norry seemed to be more interested in the lurid details, not about ways to stop it.

Damn! I figured you guys would have filled RCH's inbox so he could tell us what he was trying to ask georgie boy last night.

Maybe 8 years ago, an open lines caller asked george about 5 hour shows and referenced longer shows when Art was the main host. George said, "Wow...5 hours!?"
