I think it's not so much about challenging things in some rigid way, as it is finding a good balance between allowing a good amount of interesting speculation while pushing back on some of the more outrageous claims some guests make.  That sense of open-ended exploration, grounded in some basic root of reality is what made it compelling, thought-provoking, and yes, entertaining.

Art, back then, claimed to shun the political format, but whenever he saw someone that was not being represented in the mainstream media, he put them on. It was part of what made him great. Well, if he wants to recapture his market, and especially if he wants stick it to Premiere, I don't see how he can make it without that gear in the clock.

The trailers are all terrific, Saucy.  They capture the essence of what all of us have been missing for so long -- that mystique of the unknown that is so scary and yet so tantalizing, the antithesis of the daily grind, that mostly unavoidable face of daytime reality.

I disagree with you on one part.
Art Bell has been known to call bull on a guest and quickly end it.
We would then go onto either open lines or Art would try and find a new guest.
Speaking of which...do you have an alternative lineup in case a guest doesn't show?

What really turned me off on you was the moment you thought your audience was stupid.
You pretended to be your future self, come to the past for the purpose of hosting the show.
Well...according to your contract you should be hosting well past when you die (time travel will not be feasible for a hundred or more years).

Which is pretty much what he's said all along since 1995 when I started listening. Gave up the politics that everyone else was doing on the radio, bored to death with it....Yet, there were the shows. Another aspect of Art that's probably going to go down like a flaming pizza roll with some of the people here are the technical/Ham shows.

I'm looking forward to all of it, as it was, but I think there may be some disillusionment when Art sounds more like a random two week consecutive run of shows from 1996 than a cherry picked archive of shows taken from his entire run.
