I would but I'm too scared to touch it

I hate it when people glance at a satirical article and then go on a rant without realizing that the news story that they are all lathered up over is complete poppycock.

95% of any media you are privy to nowadays.

Packages labeled 'baby spinach' that are 60% regular spinach and 40% baby spinach. If it is large and leathery, it is not baby spinach, dammit.

(I get the feeling I will be a frequent visitor to this thread. Lots of stuff annoys me)

Yeah! I hate reasonably priced KONA COFFEE cause it says: (blend, 10% kona) on the back in fine print.

I WANT 100% KONA!

And another thing, Kona beans aren't bad by any means, but the price seems to reflect the difficulty of hand harvesting the stuff more so than it's actual quality (the land is volcanic rock and can't be worked by machines) and plus Hawaii ain't cheap to run a business out of. I'm going to have to train a monkey-cat to start shitting beans one of these days.

I hear you.  I love Kona, and the Kona blends are just so bland and blah.

The older I get, the more I prefer winter over summer, but...I hate the dry skin cracks I get on my fingers in the winter. No matter how much lotion I use, it still happens (probably because I am a compulsive hand washer). I have one on the pad of my thumb right now and have been miserable all damn day. Ouch. You never realize how much you use or bump an area of skin until it has a big, sore, dry-around-the edges crack on it. Painful and annoying.

So far, the only way I have found to treat them is to lube the hell out of it with Neosporin, wrap with a thin strip of paper towel, and duct tape over the whole thing. Electrical tape works pretty well, too. But the wrap poses some issues for my compulsive hand washing...sigh.

Best thing I have found for dry skin is Eucerin, nothing else is close. It costs a bit more than most common skin lotions but definitely worth it.

Being so manly, it's hard for me to apply skin lotion. Instead, I consume daily whopping tablespoons of virgin coconut oil throughout the winter. It seems to help maintain the epidermical suppleness I desire while leaving the manliness intact. Also I'm convinced that it helps with energy levels and brain thinkifications. It smells and tastes good too, great in oatmeal and
what were we talking about?

Who cares, I had a coconut rush then...don't stop....

I never had this annoyance until I moved to Peru but since I'm pretty light colored the taxi drivers sometimes assume that I'll pay them more money.  A 20ish minute taxi ride to a large mall close by should cost about $3.75 (converted).  Too many times they'll start the negotiation at $20.  Several times they've asked for twenty dollars as in actual dollars, not the local currency (this happens less frequent now that the dollar is weaker).   They have every right to try and negotiate (I love this about Peru and just about everything here is negotiable) but when they get pissed off after they see I'm fluent in Spanish and know what they should charge, that gets annoying to me.  No reason for them to get pissy.   Many times I just say "no gracias" and walk away especially when they start so damn high and one time the driver got offended and pulled up next to me and started lecturing me about being rude.   Imagine going to the gas station and they say it will be $21 per gallon.

I could actually rant about taxi drivers all day long considering I take about 25 per week.

Perhaps I should add that I fix my own cars. Automotive work including disassembling and building an engine requires a lot of hand washings because I need my tactile feelings in fingers and gloves often aren't useful. Yes my hands dry out if using dish soap for washings repeatedly, and causes severe skin drying, and on top of some of the solvents I use will cause skin cracking. So I don't use dish soap any more and use a hand cleaner made for that kind of cleaning that includes lanolin and pumice granuals which works quite well avoiding the skin cracking. Modern cars have become so technologically advanced, the time necessary on computer w/service instructions between hand washings also helps during the stages too to avoid errors. So maybe OP can minimize skin cracking by using hand cleaner w/lanolin and if doesn't need the mechanical scrubbing properties of pumice grains, it can also be found w/o the pumice.

My Mom had lots of commercial hand creams for skin moisturizing used to help dry skin cracking. I tried using, but couldn't stand the resulting "feminine" smell. Back in the days I still used dish soap for serious hand cleaning, I had a commercial hand lotion/moisturizer that didn't smell and worked quite well. When my skin started cracking, I'd rub some in and it made my hands almost burn for awhile, but within a day or so worked really well. Years after I ran out of that big bottle, that hand lotion wasn't available in stores any more.

effexor is one of those drugs you shouldnt just quit. need to taper off, or wildly unpredictable behavior will result.

Remember, as your physician, I am sure, has informed you, it is vitally important to maintain a proper nutritional diet, and get plenty of rest. One of the most important things you can do, is to establish a good sleep pattern. All those things will greatly mitigate any discomfort you may feel from discontinuing your medication.

Tapered off from 150mg/day to 75/day to 37.5/day. Now stopped. Sucks. Feels like someone has hooked up an electrode to my brain and is zapping it with electric chair-like electricity every few minutes. But I want off the stuff. I miss having feelings. And orgasms.
