Normally I avoid yahoo and the comment section like the plague, but tonight a lot of servicemen and women are weighing in on their experiences with Robin Williams when he visited them in very dangerous places. Celebrities like Robin Williams are just people trying to make a living.  They aren't some sort of hellspawn.  As a child I was disillusioned and upset too that the actor who played one of my favourite characters (Mork) was a drug addict.  He was probably one of the first celebrities to be openly known for abusing drugs and it was a startling revelation.  But at the same time he's just a messed up person like all of us trying to make his way.  And yes, it was illegal and he probably should have paid a larger price at the time.

More importantly, your 'unauthorized businessmen' are unauthorized for a reason.  They are going against the common good.  They are harming people or harming society.  So are some legitimate business men but that's another discussion.  We elect government officials to create laws we by in large all agree are for the common good.  If we all agreed for many years, by proxy of the government, that dealing pot is bad then yes it is and should be a criminal offense to break the commonly agreed upon law.  If we change our minds and now decide it's okay then yes, it's no longer criminal.  I see no contradiction  It's not right for an individual to selfishly decide that laws which work for him are okay and laws which don't can be ignored.  The point is you have no right to go against the law and the commonly agreed upon good whatever it is, just because you think it shouldn't apply to you, and Batman should apprehend you.
