The biggest difference between Heather and Falkie? Heather isn't afraid of work. We may argue over the quality of mitd, but at least she shows up every night.

Indeed Heather deserves a lot of respect for the work she puts in.   And her willingness to step into an impossible situation.  That is her saving grace and I believe over time she will improve her skills because of it.

However I wouldn't say Noory doesn't work hard.  Even if you disagree, at the very least you have to admit Noory paid his dues years before he even started hosting Coast to Coast.  He didn't start his career hosting a national radio show.  Rather he worked his way up.

Here's hoping Donald Trump is going to be a guest with Art this week.  Now that would bring a lot of attention to the show.

Bobo, what is the point to call for Heather's resignation?  So Heather quits, then what happens? An alien radio host appears in a spaceship to save the show?  In the grand scheme of things she is just a show host and like others have said, you aren't forced to listen.  You do realize it's her job and really it makes no sense to just quit.  In other words she doesn't care what you or I think, nor should she.

You'd think if Art really cared about MITD continuing, that he'd open his checkbook to pay a professional to try to get affiliates to pick up MITD.  The fact that he's looking for a minimally experienced  freebie intern to do that says volumes.

In fairness to both Art and Heather, things didn't turn out as originally planned. Seeing that Art is willing to put anything more into the show means he cares about it.  Perhaps it just boils down to a money issue.  Whether it be an attempt to mitigate his losses or a case of not having a huge pile of capital to invest who knows.

Maybe in part it is because of his respect for Heather.  She was put in an impossible position and has handled it as well as she could.  And maybe Art behind the scenes has seen something in her that somehow doesn't get translated over the air.  I would imagine that Art being as knowledgeable about radio as he is, has some reason for putting Heather there.  But if you listen to Heather, it's baffling as to what that reason could be.  Maybe with a coach, she could be taught to sound more professional.  However it's really hard to teach someone how to be interesting.

In the end I just don't see MITD going anywhere in its current state.  It will most likely just stick around as a podcast.  There is way too much competition out there for Heather to have a legitimate chance.

Living in South Carolina, we are bombarded every 4 years. Before the primary, I probably averaged about 3-5 flyers/day in my snail mail and as many in my email. All the candidates make numerous visits here so it`s easy to see them up close and personal. Every single ad on the radio and TV is political. Hey, it`s just the way it is. Like you said, we get through it.

I`m hopeful people will reconsider their views on Trump after they`ve now had an opportunity to see the real Donald.

VOTE TED CRUZ!

#nevertrump

The real Trump?  So one small incident over the weekend "Trumps" 40 years of being in the media spotlight for Mr. Trump?  Everything you ever wanted to know about Trump is out there.  And to be honest about all the other candidates if you want to take the time to research.  Sadly a lot of people hang their coattails on the latest gossip and hyperbole.  When they would be much more informed if they took everything that shows up in the media with a grain of salt and dug a bit to find the truth.

Sorry, just because Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio and the establishment say things are one way, isn't enough to convince me.  I mean really, is there anything they could possibly reveal or say that would change peoples mind when Trump has been in the spotlight for so long?  The last debate was a huge win for Trump because it solidified the hard truth.  That Cruz and Rubio don't have enough moxie to convince the American people why they are more suited for the job than Trump.  Throwing insults at each other just made it look like a reality show.

Hey I understand people being irritated by mailers, endless emails, phone calls from all the campaigns and the like. Believe me, I've had my share mostly from Cruz.  However, that is what a good campaign does and we just have to get through it.

Well today's the big day.  We shall see how it goes.  VOTE CRUZ!

That's what an irritating campaign does not necessarily a good one.  And believe me you, Cruz needs less exposure.  Because every time he opens his mouth it makes everyone else seem more like the Pope.

My point was claiming to be a "rape survivor" has become fashionable. Lady Gaga choosing to use 'The Oscars' as a social/political platform (with a song to go along with it, too) seems suspicious too me. Being that she's an entertainer, it's in her best interest to stay relevant. Is that a cynical viewpoint; yes.

I am not denying rape occurs. However, if you are a victim of a crime please report it to the police. Accusations are not proof.

This is a valid point.  It begs the question whether a major awards program is the proper platform to push certain social causes.  One of the many reasons I gave up watching the Oscars, Grammys (insert your favorite awards show here) years ago.  Is it too much to ask to have just entertainment for an hour or 2?  There is enough bombardment the other 22 hours of the day with everyone pushing their own causes.

I've done what many here will say is the unthinkable and unpardonable.  Why?  For starters Art Bell isn't on MITD anymore.  To be honest, MITD is simply not the same without him.  And it had been a good 3 or 4 years since listening to C2C.  Lo and behold, I was pleasantly surprised by George as he was a good listen.  So I am happily back on the George C2C Train.

This doesn't mean I hate Art and/or Heather now.  It is not in my mind an Art versus George thing.  Although I can understand why GN rubs people the wrong way (on and off air) my opinion differs greatly.  Yes we have all read and heard about the antics that George/C2C have pulled.  How much of it is truth and how much of it is exaggerated hyperbole on message boards?  I tend to lean more heavily towards the latter.  Thus the antics can be easily overlooked.

As far as GN on air goes, he is a talented broadcaster.  All of the negative comments heaped upon him on this forum, while to a small degree true, come from the most anti George group you can find.  C2C overall has a pretty good group of interesting guests.  Plus GN who does a good job keeping the conversation going and interesting.  IMO he hasn't kept his job on a major radio show by being an idiot.  Granted he is not Art Bell, but who is?  The notion that George is just a bumbling fool and can't talk his way out of a paper bag is hyperbole at its finest.

I am aware that most people on this message board will vehemently disagree with my point of view.  And that yes I made 1 or 2 posts that said harsh negative things about GN before on this message board.  But admittedly it was a knee jerk reaction to the kool aid being passed out.  So to set things right, I have come out of the closet.   And in the universe my support of George Noory is public knowledge.

The GN train is rolling through the Vegas station.  And my preferred lineup is GN and RCH for now.    8)

so, in other words, keith is publicly stating, for all to see, that the current replacement host on their flagship show was not their first choice.  way to stand by your people, keith.  does he even realize what he's just said?  or is it his intent to express this?  i'm sure heather is reeeeally pleased to see this put out there by someone in her own organization.  amateur hour, 100%.

if i were heather, the host of DMRN's flagship show, i would immediately dial keith to inform him that, going forward, he will release no public statements without my approval.

and why is he even commenting on this crap via their website, anyway?  it's not the proper venue.  the inside information about vera et al. could just as well have been a post on bellgab, a "cesspool of shit."  a very small percentage of the DMRN audience has a clue about all of this behind the scenes drama among hosts, so there was no need to "correct the record" or respond.  all keith's done is inform an otherwise oblivious audience of the bullcrap happening behind the scenes.  they didn't need to read this.

First off Heather would probably be the first one to recognize that she is not on the level of a  Howard Houghes. At least I would hope she would.  If she is as half as good as everyone says, it would be delusional to not recognize where one stands.   And then based on that, set goals as to where they want to go.

At this point Heather, a relative unknown, has been given a great opportunity.  Howard Houghes is an already well known and respected personality with a show on the BBC.  No offense to Heather meant at all, but she has a long ways to go.  I agree 100% with Keith's thinking on this one.

On the other hand I agree MV, to air stuff publicly, true as it may be, leads to drama just like in this thread.  Heather is just doing her job.  And since she is not on the level of an Art Bell or Howard Houghes, she needs all the help she can get.

Wow, I'm surprised a (mostly) intelligent bunch like this one keeps beating on Leo.  Not that he doesn't deserve some of it.  But calling the guy mentally ill and listing all his symptoms, based solely on some internet posts, is a hasty generalization.  On top of that the incessant chant of "the guy doesn't know how to pronounce anything" is a bit of a stretch.  Really not fact but personal opinions of liking his delivery style or not.  IMO a Toemato vs. Tamato argument.

In short the hyperbole is way over the top. (But isn't it always that way on Bellgab?)  Art has clarified his point of view succinctly so there are no misunderstandings.  Therefore I vote on moving the conversation along to something more constructive.

Speaking of which Art, how about Rich Little as the news guy?   8)

OMIGOD. This is too funny. The best word I can think of to describe DMN/Leo is unprofessional.

Sounds like this whole thread.  Since you consider yourself an expert radio professional, it would be no harm to tell us who you "really" are, correct?  Let me guess perhaps you are Wolfman Jack or Allan Freed?  Roger Carroll?  No couldn't be, those guys were too professional and nice.  Maybe you are Sally Jesse Raphael, that would be funny.

Art hasn't given us one good reason to contact local radio stations. No matter how many affiliates MiTD has, Art will continue to charge to access past shows. How about giving back to fan base, now that you have complete control over the show. The only difference between DMDN and Premier radio, DMDN has a few less commercials.

Art goes over and beyond to connect with his fan base.  Suggesting otherwise, just sounds like you are trying to stir up trouble.  As far as the convenience of paying to access past shows goes, it is more than fair.  In the end, if it bothers you that much,  no one is stopping you from recording the show yourself.

When did it become a crime to make money in this country?  I think it is a great thing Art is using his talents to entertain us and make some extra money.  Nothing wrong with that, nothing at all.

any bluetooth controller will do.  i went ahead and bought the asus manufactured game controller that came with it, but i've not been very happy with the situation there because of the latency i'm getting.  it really screws up the gameplay on my SNES emulator.  i don't know if it's the nexus player, the emulator, or the wireless controller.  someone earlier in this thread told me to try a wired controller and that might eliminate the latency, but i haven't gotten around to it.

i will concede, i finally cracked.  last night i connected a full blown PC to my 65 inch vizio.  the nexus player is great for 99% of the stuff i do, but there's that remaining 1% that it really sucks at.  specifically, i'm talking about audio production.  getting podcasts ready and posted for download is EXCRUCIATING in android.  i kept pushing and pushing to make the nexus player/android into a PC, and for months it did the job for the most part, but there were just those few issues that are now fixed by ending my resistance and just connecting a goddamn pc to the tv.  now i can do everything i need/want to do, and it looks amazing on that screen.  btw... i can use the asus gamepad with the pc as soon as i connect a usb bluetooth dongle, so i'm going to try that and hopefully the latency issue will be resolved.

It's amazing what tablets and mobile devices can do.  No doubt it has changed the way a lot of us go about our daily lives.  However,  you just pointed out a couple of the many many reasons why mobile devices aren't going to replace real "full blown" PC's anytime soon.  And you also just pointed out why android devices aren't "full blown" PC's, even with all the cool and neat stuff they do.  Pc's and mobile devices have pros and cons.  And each has it's advantages and strong points.  In my mind it's an ecosystem where each can co-exist peacefully.

This letter is oh so unoriginal.  There is a series that I watch on Spanish Television (Spain/Europe) called "El Ministerio del Tiempo"    Or in English "The Ministry of Time."  The shows basic premise deals with a secret government agency in Spain (The Ministry of Time), that control a large set of doors.  These doors lead to specific time periods.  When something goes wrong on the time line, The time agents then go out on a mission to "fix" those irregularities.   Indeed there is a director of the time ministry in the program as well.

Sound familiar?  Reads just like the first few paragraphs of David's letter.

This is how I read it also. I think RCH & Dave + the producers already spoke about this off air and came to an agreement.  RCH brought it up on air in an attempt to put c2c & dave on the spot.  Using the live nature of the program as leverage to get what RCH wanted. Hoagland strikes me as a difficult person to work with, esp. when he has a bee in his bonnet about something. I'd be pissed and frustrated too if someone tried to pull this live on the air.
RCH ended up getting a better deal anyway on Art's network & Dave still sucks.

I'm not trying to troll here but just confused. (And this post isn't direct at eddie dean, just everyone in general.)  Why and how is everyone an expert on how difficult a person RCH is to work with personally??  All of this talk seems like conjecture to me.  How anyone can form an intelligent opinion without personally knowing and working with someone is a mystery to me.
