I agree, that's why I won't listen unless all of you make a fuss about something going down on her program, then I'll hop on to TuneIn.com real quick.  Otherwise BLAHH, the show is AWFUL, that's why most if not all of the stations carrying MITD have cancelled.   The same goes for George Noory, if ya don't like the show, don't listen. It's really that simple.

From the comments he makes, Art appears to be losing it and declining quickly.  I really hope it's nothing more than just a lack of skill using the internet.

As far as Heather, I've listened to her on 3 different shows for about 10 minutes each time.  The voice affectation and fake laugh alone make it unlistenable.  Her comments and questions show no aptitude for radio at all.  No offense, I don't have the talent for it either.

Yeah.  I honestly don't know what the hey Art was and is thinking.  I'm sure Rush Limbaugh doesn't expect one of his fans to just step in and fill his shoes on the radio.  I sure as hell don't want any random passenger to take over the controls of a flight I might be on.

Why doesn't Art do that? Or did the stalker want Art to stay off his phone as well as stay off the air?

Well, Art has said repeatedly that he has "burned his bridges" with radio stations and networks. So he seems convinced (apparently convinced, who knows?) that he no longer has any influence at all. Meaning, I suppose, that almost any dipstick off the street would have a better chance than he would have of selling Heather's crap.

It's cruel, I think, to try and drag some poor fool into this mess and have him/her fail. For what, exactly? That's the question.

Heather doesn't bother me as a host as most here..the fake laugh or laughing at wrong times is a bit annoying but no more then Dave's jeez's ..the talking over/past a guest is a bit of a pain..but the real issue is just guest/topics

I don't often listen to Heather, but I don't care that she is on the air. Art is gone, and she is not much worse than Noory. Basically I have a live and let live view.

Exactly. If people don't like the show, go listen to somebody else. If there is a host they would rather listen to, then go listen to them.

MITD will either make it or it won't.

That's what I've been doing:  there are other shows out there that are better.  MITD will probably survive for a while though; until it begins to lose so many TT subscriptions that Art does have to shell out his own money to keep it afloat.

It is horrible.

If anyone else agrees with me, please encourage me to continue to call for her resignation.
I have been an original founding member of BellGab and have a tremendous amount of respect
with all members.  Note: Most of my communication is done via private email, with you the members of Bellgab.
 
I will consider becoming more vocal and pubic if i get a large enough response to put my friendship with Art in jeopardy.

If i get enough response, i will take my influence to the powers that be and finally be rid of Heather and her lack of radio experience and put her back to her former career where i think she can do better as it has less to do with pronouncing words correctly and more to do with moaning the words the right way.

You'd think if Art really cared about MITD continuing, that he'd open his checkbook to pay a professional to try to get affiliates to pick up MITD.  The fact that he's looking for a minimally experienced  freebie intern to do that says volumes.

Bobo, what is the point to call for Heather's resignation?  So Heather quits, then what happens? An alien radio host appears in a spaceship to save the show?  In the grand scheme of things she is just a show host and like others have said, you aren't forced to listen.  You do realize it's her job and really it makes no sense to just quit.  In other words she doesn't care what you or I think, nor should she.

In fairness to both Art and Heather, things didn't turn out as originally planned. Seeing that Art is willing to put anything more into the show means he cares about it.  Perhaps it just boils down to a money issue.  Whether it be an attempt to mitigate his losses or a case of not having a huge pile of capital to invest who knows. 

Maybe in part it is because of his respect for Heather.  She was put in an impossible position and has handled it as well as she could.  And maybe Art behind the scenes has seen something in her that somehow doesn't get translated over the air.  I would imagine that Art being as knowledgeable about radio as he is, has some reason for putting Heather there.  But if you listen to Heather, it's baffling as to what that reason could be.  Maybe with a coach, she could be taught to sound more professional.  However it's really hard to teach someone how to be interesting. 

In the end I just don't see MITD going anywhere in its current state.  It will most likely just stick around as a podcast.  There is way too much competition out there for Heather to have a legitimate chance.
