Radio and Podcasts / Re: John B. Wells
June 13, 2015, 05:39:39 PM
When I first listened to Wells on C2C I did like him. But then this creeping sense of his laziness overtook my perception of him. When he gets out of the way to let people talk...it comes off as lazy. On C2C I heard multiple instances of mentally unsound guests or callers who could not string a coherent thought together. He would interject that he wants to let them talk. It wasn't a case of someone with a real crazy idea...it was the case of someone who couldn't form multiple sentences that formed a thought.

He wasn't doing it to be entertaining "Oh wait til they hear this quack" it was just lazy or maybe he is just that inept at steering an interview.

Radio and Podcasts / Re: Why is Noory's job so safe?
March 17, 2015, 08:53:04 PM
He is a cheap "yes man". I also think if he feels there is any kind of threat to his show he will focus on the threat moreso than improve his show (telling guests it is either one show or the other, having that guy on that accused Art of some heinous shit all of a sudden when he was banned from C2C up to Dark Matter...which got people talking about the subject all over again. I think he pulled JC close to: either disrupt the dark matter network/hurt Art/diffuse any momentum JC had). I actually don't remember if JC was on the DMN.

By doing  all of those things I listed, he has made himself the only safe, dependable choice. I wouldn't be surprised to find out he encouraged Ian Punnet to take time off or even retire due to him "Caring about his well being...pain in the ears? OUUUCH".

John B Wells is a tool with no talent but Noory sure liked him until he became a competitor. I also feel that he probably hindered JBW from getting more airtime and just did more shows even though the quality suffers from it.

I bet he discusses time slots and these things with whomever will listen to sound important. He was a voice over guy for radio that is doing a podcast. But I can't blame him, if thats the bait the girls bite on...whatever.

This is very good. They definitely aren't radio personalities but that is part of the charm in my opinion. As opposed to Wells who has a radio voice and THINKS he has a radio personality or Church who has neither but thinks he has both.

I am hoping for an official response. However, if there is no response and we never hear from Lisa again, we will also know.

2 things happened. 1) Technical difficulty that prevented the rest of the show
2) She didn't want to go on or freaked out from the smell...but if there is an investigation there will be nothing found. You would think this would be a great time to explain that "Hey, this is your job and a huge crack at the big time that you screwed away. If your job was to be in charge of C2C, would you take someone back after that? (hahaha all I could think of was "Would you do anything other than fire Snoory right away?)

That's just another story that doesn't quite add up. I thought he said he got into sports radio when he graduated school?  Also, which one retirement are we talking about?

I agree, I don't think thats why he got into radio, but I also think he did say that to his friend and probably several other people. That makes it worse.

Classic.

Also, there have been nearly 400 topic views since I posted my comment. Evidently none of you have anything to say.

Typical.

No one cares what you think. I have looked at your show's numbers?

We lit him up pretty bad after dropping sirius. It sucked.

But I am past that, I do not expect a new show or a show that will last awhile. Which is fine, but I imagine he doesn't like that perception...even though I feel it is warranted.

Yes, he didn't retaliate against a woman.

He also got fired for things he said regarding it.

That being said, hilarious video.

"Interested in having your business, product, service, or message delivered to the World?  BECOME A CTM ADVERTISER!"

JBW is selling banner ad space and on the CTM website.  So far, there haven't been any takers so, if you act now, you can be the first to have the eyeballs of the World on you!  He's also offering to do "On-Air Product Endorsement on his podcast or his mythical "Nationally Syndicated Radio Show."

Also, those CTM beanies must be selling like happy pancakes, because they're the "Recommended Product of The Month" yet again.  The Ark Midnight intrepidly sails on!

There is only a tiny portion of products that you could advertise on his site and not hurt your company's reputation.

Also, what radio station would dare put a guy up that questioned the validity of a school shooting? I could see a big name maybe getting away with it but some guy no one has ever heard of? Shit if you were bored, you could just e-mail the radio station a transcript of his show regarding the shooting and that would be that.

I don't and I don't get the people that write off everything as BS yet still listen.

Radio is a medium of entertainment. I like hearing the passion in some of the guests. Sometimes they weave a tale so well why not enjoy it? Any good story teller will tell it like it is real...why on C2C there are people that BELIEVE it is real. Sometimes I listen for a good laugh...sometimes I listen to break up a quiet night. Sometimes I even listen because the topics slant towards real life and the truth can be stranger than fiction (Knapp's missing persons shows for example). Sometimes I listen because as a child I found a certain topic VERY interesting and there is a small part of me that just wants to be convinced...it never happens but I still try.

Bell was someone we all knew. He could be a relative, a guy at the coffee shop who had a whopper to tell you, someone at a truck stop you ran into now and then, etc. There was an authenticity to him that you knew he might not even believe it himself but if he had a doozy to tell you, it wasn't a waste of your time. He would slowly steer a topic around and around, emphasizing the interesting things and doing it in such a way like he was thinking out loud and you were thinking with him. A master at his craft.

Knapp has an authenticity too. He believes in his craft...that of being an investigative reporter. There is a giant tangled knot of information in a ball and as the show progresses he slowly unwinds it with observation after fact after observation. Interjecting questions he had himself while investigating or questions that he had answered for himself as the knot unraveled. Then towards the end...the knot is as unwound as it can get. It makes so much more sense now than it did before...there might still be a hellish amount left to be untangled..or just a few incredibly important pieces still tangled...but you know he went the distance and what is left is a mystery in itself. Enough to get your mind going again. A master at his craft.

So you might not ever understand why I listen despite writing almost everything off as BS...but that is too bad, the show had some incredible moments for entertainment and sparking thought.

Think about this, there are going to be people that will strongly defend this picture.

Fun story: My mother wanted a sub to sirius. I will get her something a little more thoughtful too but she really just wanted a gift card. Easy enough. Their website is dog shit. I literally would go to check out a few times over the past 2 days and would get error messages. From different sources.

I just went to Bestbuy's website, ordered the same thing, and got free Wednesday delivery. Where Sirius just would do "Free UPS Ground" which was too late today.

So a lesson on being more proactive but man, sirius is not doing themselves any favors.

That is right kids, if you were wondering how Jorch gets to declare his shows are classics (sometimes BEFORE the show!!!) well we have finally found someone else who has the ability to to declare their own shows great. It really is incredible that we not only have 1 with this incredible power but 2 now.

Politics / Re: Why I am Voting GOP on 11/4
November 04, 2014, 06:13:26 AM
Both sides have dogshit candidates and I really believe they do not even remotely represent their party's citizens if the citizens are honest with themselves.

The political parties used to represent the people's view. Now it is the opposite. People get their views and talking points from their news channel of choice and adopt them.

"They say this is bad? Well ok I say this is bad."
"I am supposed to be for this? Ok, I am for this."

What is really crazy is I can remember VERY politically inclined people in my life from 20 years ago and the extremes they have gone to in their views the last 10 years is bizarre and no one even thinks twice about this.

First step to get rid of these entrenched problems is term limits.

To the above poster: I agree completely. Everytime someone makes a statement about where they are voting, you already know where they are voting. The thing I hate is "Well I don't like it/it is the less of the two evils." Something is very very very wrong when its that same broken record everytime they vote. Either the system is broke and the parties don't represent the people or they are lying to themselves about what the believe.

Random Topics / Nielsen ratings have been wrong...
October 10, 2014, 10:14:22 PM
http://www.capitalnewyork.com/article/media/2014/10/8554365/nielsen-says-it-has-issued-faulty-ratings-data-march

So the Nielsen ratings are what the US television industry goes by to see how many people are watching what shows and what the demographics are. This is important because this is mainly what advertisers go by when buying time. It is also how actors negotiate salaries, how networks decide what shows stay or go, etc etc.

As I read this, the thought popped in my head: The ratings were wrong starting in March...Robin Williams' show ended in late April, and it took a month before it was cancelled. The shows cancellation was the last major news story regarding Robin before his suicide. It is hard for me to separate the show's cancellation and his eventual suicide.

What if they go back and find that the ratings were better for this show? That would be insane.

So I made this thread for anyone's thoughts on this, or what the skewed ratings could mean for past ratings, or why we let something that could be faulty have so much control over our programming.

So Jimmy Church, on his show last night, talked about how he thinks all his shows have been great and that he's glad he's done them.  He must be reading our posts here and wants to say another FU to us.  He kept patting himself on the back.  Maybe I'm wrong about this guy and he really is a total douche.

He is insecure. Listen to the man talk.

As far as saying his shows are great...he is almost ready to take it to the next level and proclaim the show is going to be a "clashik" at the beginning of the show like Snoory.

"Tonight we awr havin another clashik show. What do yewww do when angels appear through portals? Our next guesht says energy cryshtals are the key!"

Hmm that is interesting. We know he is not a reporter or investigative journalist of any kind.

He probably wanted the day off and is incapable of just leaving it at that.

I still swear the whole pizza roll story was complete BS. The fact he walked around the studio with a flashlight to prove a point seems very desperate.
