Shit is really falling apart around here.

New update.  The old encrypted url method has been removed.  My old domain will be taken down today, so please use the official RSS feed going forward:

http://rss.darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/mitd
http://rss.darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/osom

On a separate topic, if your podcast app does NOT work with authentication (beyondpod v3 or pocketcast), try it with the following structure:

http://my@email.com:password@rss.darkmatterdigitalnetwork.com/mitd

Let me know if you have any questions.

Can't seem to get this to work in the app Overcast. I've used this same method with a few other password protected podcasts, so perhaps the URL needs to be formatted differently? I've tried a few other formats without success.

This is so awesome. Goddammit I missed Art.

Anyone know if theres an rss feed of the archives so it can be subscribed to as a podcast? The way Art's archive feed is formatted right now can't be added as a podcast in iTunes or any other podcast client.

Art you should guest on Joe Rogan's podcast. That has the potential to be one of the best couple hours of entertainment in modern history.

Wait a moment, I said I would honor the NC, I did not say I would not take Legal action to try and change it.

And with that this thread is over.

wait a sec too.. did the text of this change as well? :

We are sorry that Dark Matter on SiriusXM has come to an abrupt end. We'll examine our options and may be able to return in a different format and medium.

We have already identified many ways to bring a LIVE stream to you, it's now just a contractual issue. Stay tuned...

In the mean time, ArtBell.com will still operate as long as financially possible, hoping for a workable solution to bring Art back to you, soon. Keep checking back here often.

He may have added that bit to stop people from emailing him ideas on how to stream the show live.

There are a TON of options for live streaming online. If Art doesn't want to do it on his own there are lots of streaming networks / podcast networks that would die to have him on board with them that would do all of the heavy lifting.

I don't know. From the outside looking in Art didn't even seem to try and negotiate with Sirius. He made a pretty big demand early on for them to let him stream the show live, and seemingly immediately when they said no he canceled the show, deleted his Facebook, and ran for the hills. I love Art, but I think this time we deserve an explanation. A lot of people, including me, invested in a subscription for SiriusXM to listen to him. He has no reason not to tell us what happened, and if he is reading this thread he should at least give us a small explanation and let us know if he has any plans to return to the mic. After all the cryptic messages over the years I'm tired of this.

Did he just delete his facebook??? I tried to go back to his page, but now it says "page not found."

This is some serious shit.

No other company will touch him with a 10 foot pole after this.

Word. He really has to go indie now if he wants to go anywhere near the mic again.

I doubt that they would share subscriber profits with Art, maybe only a small part of subscriptions off of the affiliate link on artbell.com. What they likely mean is that he will get to share in the profits of the ads that are on the show. They likely made this deal so that Art will have added incentive to do a fair amount of ads.

It also means that if Art doesn't feel like doing as many commercials in one night, it's fine. He just doesn't get as much money on that particular night.

I'm not quite sure what they would charge for a 30 sec. spot on SiriusXM, but I bet it's a good amount. A company would likely buy a pack of 10-20 30 second, to 1 minute ads for a few thousand dollars, considering that it's a new show on a less popular SiriusXM channel. Sirius doesn't post listener statistics, but I bet it does give that info to advertisers. If the show proves popular, and Art does an average of 5-10 minutes of ads per hour, he will start making some serious cash.

Now that Art has finally revealed his plans for his big comeback, now perhaps we can start to discuss how long we guess until he retires again?
6 months? 1 year?

Man, you're one negative dude. We've spent so long hoping and dreaming about Art coming back, and literally as soon as he does you're shitting all over it. Just let us be happy, you don't have to listen if you don't want to.

Man... Listening to Art 3 hours a night with almost no commercials is going to be glorious. I'm so happy it turned out this way. Sept. 16th can't come soon enough. Just got my subscription through Art's site.

Well, looks like Cumulus will have some prime spots available if Art is interested:

Interesting. Doesn't Premiere usually make stations air Coast if they want to air Rush? This could mean a lot of stations now have their night slots wide open.

If you're reading this Art, you should add a fifth exclamation point if you'll be making your announcement tomorrow. That way I can sleep restfully tonight.

There is one thing that makes me a little uneasy.  That is his reference to The Chase and The Inca Dance.  Those are Coast songs.  Do you think he will pirate those from the show?

He could just use those songs on his new show. It's not like Coast owns them. Plus, if he does use them just imagine how Snoory and crew will react. They may just all simultaneously shit their pants.

Art should do a live webcam of the show. He'd make a killing off the subscriptions...

YES. So easy these days with ustream and all of the other alternatives. Leo LaPorte's twitch network is incredibly successfull with that model. I'd love to see Art do that.

That said if it's Cumulus I might be screwed...I don't think they have any stations in South Florida, where I live.

You can listen to pretty much any station on tunein.com or on one of their iPhone / Android apps. So no matter what / when / where Art comes back most people will be able to listen.

While I am very disappointed, I think that Art could at least guest on a podcast or radio show to explain what went down with Premiere and tie up other loose ends. Then he can fade away into retirement, it's the least he can do after dragging us along for so long with false hope.
