I can't stand this waiting anymore!

man. it sucks I have to wait for 2am for the show to start here.

It sucks.  We're so close now.
I feel like we're little kids on a long roadtrip kicking dad's seat and asking "are we there yet?"
We need a Mr. Fidget to pass the time.

I can't believe it's actually happening.

Nighthawk

Yea I can't believe we are almost there. Right now I was just checking on some of the various siriusxm channels. I know Art will be on indie 104 but for some reason when I was browsing through channels I saw the name Art Bell appear beside the channel sirius xm LEFT. What is that all about?

It is difficult for me to believe that I am waiting to hear Art's voice take to the air again. Normally, I would have let the end of Arts career go without much remorse.  There isn't another entertainment vehicle I would have given so much thought to, so long after it terminated. There was something about the show, the time it was on, the times as they were, and probably the way Art left the show on several occasions only to return, made it very difficult to just let it go. His nightly visitations intertwined with the end of my marriage, the loss of both parents, finding the love of my life....so much living spanning years with the one constant of lying in bed, trying to make sense of it all while listening to Art. Maybe it will be like capturing smoke in a bottle. Alll I know is, yes, I wanna take another ride.

It was probably a promo ad for Dark Matter.  The live channel info that tells you what's currently playing does so for commercials too.

I find Howard really trashy too.  I don't find the constant swearing even remotely entertaining. It's very distracting. It's like being back in grade 8 in the school yard.

If it wasn't for Art I would not subscribe to Sirius either, I haven't been 8 years old since 1960. One would think a 59 year old man like Howard would eventually change but I guess it's all about the money and not much else.

Beautiful.  Something else, isn't it? His voice in those night hours punctuate various chapters in our lives. Like a composed score shapes our scripts. Through our internal re-writes we could wander into the mysterious, extend our capacity and thirst to explore.

Hey, any one figure out how to help those less fortunate who can't afford a can of cat food let alone a Sirius Subscribtion? It would be nice to give them some hope on the Dawn of a New Art.

5 AM for me  ::) Still, gotta hear the first show live.
I wish my sleep pattern wasn't so completely messed up atm, maybe I could at least squeeze in a few hours of sleep. Doesn't seem likely.

The livestream thread and youtube should have it up around half an hour or so after C2C airs, or definitely by tomorrow.

art is the only reason i signed up, too.  otherwise, i think sirius is a pile of shit (with the exception of opie and anthony).

i say again... i got three years of sirius streaming for $63.  all you need to do is add the streaming feature to someone else's existing sirius account.  i used my dad's.  that comes to only $1.75 per month.  virtually free.

That is a great deal. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone with an existing account.  :'(

I took a nap this afternoon (been sick, double  :'( ) and I dreamt that I slept through Art's premiere! Argh. It was a real nightmare. Now I'm paranoid, constantly checking the time. ^_^ 2 hours left.

Nighthawk

Im crackin open some cold ones right now in anticipation.

There is a yoga chanting radio channel on Sirius too. I was sort of expecting Koyanistaqqi but got some pretentious easy listening stuff.

eh, just curious... what station is this?

Disheartened

I can barely type.

If you have a computer (which apparently you do) and an email address - sign up for a free trial. No credit card needed - just a name and email address....

1995, I was commuting from Reno NV to Baxter, California, a 70 mile drive.  Off at midnight, just me and the big rigs on I 80.  One station came in loud and clear out of Pahrumph , NV...and that was Art Bell's station.

Art kept me wide awake, enthralled and thoroughly entertained with stories of chupacabras and
demon possessed souls and exorcisms of such souls, Nessie and weird holes...

So glad you are back, Mr. Bell!

Oh my god.. New Time article, with this gem, and there's a mention of FINE ART too. Just, wow.

QuoteWhat does Bell think of the man who replaced him on Coast, George Noory? He’s a lazy broadcaster, Bell says, indifferent to what he puts on the air. “This fellow, half the time, he doesn’t sound like he’s listening to his guest. He’ll come back and ask a question that had just been answered five minutes previously. Or he’ll inject a complete non sequitur. The guest will be talking about Bigfoot, and he’ll ask, ‘Well, does that have something to do with angels?’” Worse, “there’s a lot more politics in it, a lot more medical crap in it, a lot of New Age-y crap that I won’t touch. I prefer science.” Bell hopes competition will raise all boats. “It betterâ€"otherwise George’ll be a submarine.” Fans seem to agree: The first Google autocomplete hit on Noory’s name is “George Noory sucks.”

I wonder if we can get Art to finally tell his Ouija board story?  Since he's in the mood for a tell all and such..

Because this is just too good not to post on a new page:
