McCain's military service

You're fucking dreaming. It was a bullshit war started by Satanist oligarchs to murder as much healthy male breeding stock from the U.S. population as possible.

McCain was probably sold at auction. Like chattel.

Fair enough...but didn't he actually give up intel that got people killed in Nam?

I doubt it.

IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK.  Dow reaches new all-time high today.  I am not posting this to tout Trump's positive affect on the economy--I'm thinking that there has been a major correction coming for some time and it's going to happen soon.  Trump will have to deal with it and that will be a test for him.

I'm wondering what all my money managing, business savy fellow BelGab posters are thinking about this.  I am leaning towards cashing out, taking the proceeds in small denomination bills and burying it in a Chase and Sanborn can in the backyard.  Can I get some free advice here?   :o

I've been investing and actively trading for twenty years, and there almost certainly will be a correction. Of course, the timing is impossible to predict, but the best time to reduce your exposure and take some profits off the table is when the market looks like it's going to keep soaring for awhile. Warren Buffett says, "Be fearful when people are greedy, and be greedy when people are fearful." That advice works pretty well for him. You might miss out on some gains, but another investment saying is, "Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered." I didn't heed that advice during the tech stock bubble and lost a small fortune on paper, but it was a valuable, if agonizing, lesson. I've erred on the side of caution ever since, and recently moved some money out of the market. Bottom line is, do what makes you comfortable.

No, but

I rest my case. It is a vanity move, and nothing to do with fraud. He wouldn't call an investigation if he had the popular vote, but he's going to, because he hasn't.  ;D

So says the brave warrior who'd shit his pants if you were so much as attacked with a feather duster. Funny how those who haven't been tortured (or even wore a fucking uniform) know all about the mental and physical limitations that POWs must have. And for some reason, its never enough.

Frankly, using emoji makes me feel like an uncomfortable degenerate, but never let it be said that I am not open to investigating new ideas.

Fuck you, Nancy!  >:(

You know nothing about me and as usual, you have to resort to personal ad hominem attacks. Next you'll be asking me where I live again.  ::)  ;D

Do you just sit around fretting and fuming about that stuff all day? It's really hard for those of us who spend our waking hours dreaming of an excessively regulated, wealth redistributing, gender and restroom optional socialist utopia, where dissent is personally throttled at birth by George Soros, to exercise our right to do so when your continual micro-aggressions chip away at our self-esteem and invade our personal safe spaces.

Oh, the irony!!  ;D

I know you're not a doctor. Is that your fantasy? The way security guards dream of being cops? You've seen every episode of ER, read Greys Anatomy up to page five, and think you're a doctor now?  ;D

Days Into Trump Admin, Corrupt Employees Are Already Being Fired At The VA

Quote
Days into Donald Trump’s administration, heads are finally beginning to roll at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Two notoriously corrupt employees in Puerto Rico were fired this week, indicating that more may be on the way.

One is the hospital’s CEO, DeWayne Hamlin, who offered an employee $305,000 to quit after she played a role in exposing his drug arrest.

“Mr. DeWayne Hamlin was removed from federal service effective January 20, 2017,” the VA said. Jan. 20 was Inauguration Day.

Under former Secretary of Veterans Affairs Bob McDonald, the agency ignored years of evidence about shoddy work ethic, theft and whistleblower retaliation. The VA finally began a months-long investigative proceeding last year, after an outside agency, the Office of Special Counsel, prodded VA leadership.

I hope also they're going to get him to stump up the $300k too. And why stop at VA? Go after the bank heads who trashed the economy? The corruption with oil deals abroad and at home? Get the lot.

I'm imagine you'll all get tired of this before too long. It's going to be hard to keep up the momentum in the face of Trump's success.  ;D

Sweety, we are all (those of us with any brains), _beyond_ tired already. Vigilance is exhausing work. Your boy is a dangerous man, he will push his luck too far (and too quickly).

If Madison and Jefferson did have a blind-spot, something they didn't anticipate, it was a combination of two things, niether of which they could have in their wildest night-mares belived might come to pass: First, that the education of persons suitably-fit for public offices would ever cease to be attended to  (Jefferson took great pains to provide a map for this "Public Education") and second; that the *moral* foundation of men, the proper formation of conscience, duty, vitrue, service, etc., might someday cease (entirely!) to be persued and provided for. It would have been unimaginable for them to think of foregoing, doing without, that essential ground ingredient and the corresponding assumption/presumption of sustaining that training in purpetuity, that key-bit of "continuity of culture". Their "vision", the entire enterprise and it's success, were utterly dependant on it (morally-fit men serving the public good).

So now, in the absence of both educational *and* moral formation, we have completely uneducated and morally deficient men like Donald Trump rising to leadership in government!  It is a nightmare that one can't "get-over" until it's over,  can't "grow-tired" of being properly shocked at, horrified by, duely outraged and dutifully engaged in opposing, until it  passes, until some amount of relative safety and normalcy has again been achieved, regained, and restored. We _can't_ rest -- there's too much at stake.

Again you spouting archaic ideas from dead white males. If we have learned anything over the past decades it is that white males are evil, their statues and likenesses should be torn down, and their racist, sexist, capitalist ideas and foundations of Western Civilization, the worst civilization ever, needs to be stricken from public discourse and the education system. Morality is relative and who are you to make judgements? How can the ideas of dead white men apply to a multiracial society in which everything is a matter of choice and personal opinion, including gender?
